Intro it's the US Open final and we've got Yanik sinner into another grand slam final and Taylor Fritz into his first ever Grand Slam final this is the preview let's go through [Music] it and before we go anywhere make sure Fritz you have hit a like And subscribe to the channel let's get stuck into it the men's singles final and the competitors were decided last night and we're going to start with Taylor Fritz who went through in five sets against Francis TFO it was back and forth he came from two sets to one down to reach his first ever Grand Slam final and he becomes the first American man to reach the US Open final since Andy rodic in 2006 and the first to reach a slam final since rodic at Wimbledon in 2009 n massive for Taylor Fritz massive for his confidence and TFO so close but no cigar again and uh it is like Gil Gro says Taylor Fritz the guy who rose up through the rankings before the rest of the Americans pushed ahead of Francis Tommy Riley and they benefited from chasing him maybe they never caught him but Francis Tommy and Ben got to Major semis before he did and Taylor definitely deserves this I think he does I think it's one of those crazy things that when you're above your peers and then they go and Achieve things before you do it can leave players a little bit downhearted but Taylor Fritz has just been a grinder over the past two years and he's really really just put the like the hard working off the court and you see it's paying off on the court this match went 3 hours 21 minutes and Taylor Fritz very very fit fit tennis player able to get around the court well very good at utilizing all of the tools he has and he was able to get TFO out of there 61 in the fifth set I think he came into his own in those final two sets really showed strength of character and mental strength and you can see some of the statistics here 16 Aces from Taylor Fritz and uh TFO with nine double Fs in the match I don't think it really affects it too much been over five sets and you can see there 80% first serve points one by TFO 75 from Fritz and the second serve points one quite a large discrepancy there 65% won by Fritz and only 45% by TFO and you see um maybe just too many unforced eras in the end probably accumulating a few of those in the fifth I would have thought yeah 12 of them in the fifth but yeah he looks prit clinical did Taylor Fritz the way the match went it it really had its es and flows Taylor Fritz started strong and then at the end of the first set yeah wasn't able to keep it together was broken twice second set he it was just all on serve no break points up until we got to 54 and then eventually it went 75 uh he couldn't um well he couldn't managed to fend Fritz off for any longer then the next set it started in set three with Fritz losing his serve and then they just held serve all the way again bit of a serving contest this one and then we go down it's more of the same really I mean this is why it's a little bit shocking the difference in the two semifinals it's a STK contrast because we had in Yanik Sinner and Jack Draper's one it was nearly as long it was a three set match I'll get to that in a second and you can see in this fifth set I think TFO had just run out of gas run out of ideas and I think just shows Taylor Fritz how mentally strong he is now on the tour that he can come out in the fifth set and he really put a beat down on TFO sorry to see TFO going out in that fashion but Taylor Fritz I'm super impressed by him right now he's my player roulette as well can't believe it into the final where he will face anic s and since the start of the 2020 season only Carlos alarz has won more 0p level matches in five sets than Taylor Fritz wow and ala has won 12 Fritz has won 11 resilient most definitely I mean he's like proving things to himself if not to the public I think he goes out there on the tennis court to try and better himself every time and he's his own worst critic as we saw from a note that he wrote to himself many years ago so we got this nice one here saying started the season together at the United cup and now playing the final weekend of US Open tennis and that's obviously Taylor Fritz and Jess Pula brilliant to see the Americans doing well at the US Open and I think his run to the final has been a brilliant run this these are not easy matches I mean if you compare it I know we're going to keep harping on about to the Run of Jack Draper the it's just completely different um we have bertini Casper Roode sash's verev TFO three top 20 wins yeah a steady methodical rise for the San dieon hadn't made the second week of a slam until the Australian Open 2022 every month he kept improving always had great technique and fundamentals Taylor leaves no stone unturned yeah I I'm very impressed I feel that there there's a lot of things to take away from both of these semifinals and I'll get on to the other one just in a second um yeah I think Taylor Fritz and his growth as a tennis player and a lot of people have grown mentally in the sport and that's what we've seen in this Us open so I I know that Yanik sinner he did his growing Sinner already he came through against Jack Draper who is growing but maybe he's going to take another year or two to get to that top level I wasn't disappointed I think janx sin we know how good he is it was always going to be an uphill struggle for Jack Draper in this match but the way he took the match to yanx Sinner and the fact that he went through an hour set to start and was very competitive up until five all just had a bit of a wobble there at the end and then in the second set to an hour and a half set I mean we know that Drapers not had the best uh record in like long matches in hot conditions I think he's going to have to work on his conditioning but it's all a learning curve and yanx had to go through similar things as well maybe not with the heat but definitely with trying to mentally overcome problems with your body and small little injuries stuff like that strength and conditioning Yanik s's got it nailed down right now because in this match it it was like back and forth and you weren't really sure who was going to win the sets I think C didn't play his top level but nevertheless I still think that there were elements of Draper's game that he implemented that I was just really impressed with he was able to hit some real real clean winners the ser was brilliant it was really troubling yanx especially one on the ad side and I just thought yanx yeah in spells didn't didn't impress but when when it comes to the crunch this is what we get from our world number one tennis players the lik of the Old Guard as well they they just turn it on at the big moments and you see at five or in the first set that's when he turns it on and that's when Jack Draper has a bit of a wobble in the tie break in the second after an hour and a half it just was an easy tie break yanx sin are just so good in tie breaks these days that Jack Draper after all of the effort he put in didn't even put up a fight in the tie break it wasn't even close so that's just credit to sinner he's spoken about the fact that he doesn't feel the pressure in tie breaks and that's why he does so well in them it it just comes back to his days on the ski on the ski slopes when he was l literally one little error would cause a catastrophic crash or an injury so he knows they're a lot tougher more dangerous sports than tennis so he's got a good mindset going into them five finals played five finals won can he make it six out of six in 2024 I mean Australian Open Rotterdam Miami Hala Cincinnati and now the US Open final and he was asked what his greatest weakness was um apparently Jack Draper was asked and he said that you were too nice what do you think of that what do you think your greatest weakness is and he said uh for sure sometimes I miss some volley shot selection sometimes uh he could make that a little bit better there are also some small things small details that make difference at the high level um and he said yeah like today maybe I should have gone uh maybe a little bit more on the net sometimes all of this stuff but it takes time not like magic and you have to go through certain moments I lost matches by doing the right things and then sometimes I've even won matches doing the wrong things so always have to talk to your team try and find the right balance but uh yeah I'm quite sure I can still improve yeah I definitely can he's a work in progress and an exciting one at that um and 12 months ago he cramped up against verev at the US Open in the fourth round and 12 months later he looked far fitter uh than the that opponent last year so the first major major title multiple Masters dominating the rankings in 2024 and he definitely deserves some Applause yeah he just he definitely deserves the world number one status he looks incredible and the Italians have got so much to cheer about right now that is making it for 2024 on men's and women's side it is a is an Italian in every single slam final it's incredible we had cner at the Australian Open R long gas we had palini Wimbledon palini and now at the US Open yanx Sina again he didn't he didn't go through this matchup with Draper without a little bit of a wobble they fell over at one point put his wrist down hurt his wrist was getting medical timeout Jack Draper was throwing up down the other end about three times it had a lot of talking points this match it was definitely not your normal semifinal and it had some lulls in the excitement but then it came to life in Parts as well and Jack dra was a spent Force by the third set and couldn't keep up with the level of Fitness of yanx Sinner and the right man one on the day this was Yanik Sinner's route through to the US Open final and you can see there after winning Cincinnati continue this run McDonald Michelson OK Connell Tommy Paul Daniel meddev Jack Draper he's only dropped two sets on the way and now he'll face Taylor Fritz in the final and this is their H2H head-to-head it's 1-1 between the two and the last time they played was at Indian worlds last year in the quarterfinal it was a three set match that cner came out on top and before that they played at Indian worlds as well 2021 and that was in the round of 16 and Taylor Fritz won that matchup as well tough one to call some might say but let's get on to my prediction the Prediction American crowd we know who they're going to be supporting they're all going to be on the side of Taylor Fritz and and this could be a very very entertaining final yanx sin I don't think in that match against Jack Draper he played anywhere near his best if that same yanx sinner comes out against Taylor Fritz I think Taylor has a good chance to make a good start there's part of me believing in this one and I've got to go based upon experience of the past and how people deal with these situations Taylor Fritz has never been to a grand slam final before yanx sinna Farah he's been to one this year and he's won it I think that that experience is invaluable so I think when you come out onto that big Court Arthur Ash in your first ever slam final the nerves will be there and the first set I think we'll go to yanx sinner I don't think it will be a tie break I think it will be close I think it'll probably be a one break of serve and that'll be enough but then we're going to start to see the crowd really get behind Taylor Fritz the Box the wolf will be there saying come on his girlfriend will be there as well we have Morgan riddle standing up cheering him on and I think that Taylor Fritz will take the second set and he will be energized by the crowd then we go on to the third set I think that settles down a bit the crowd a little bit happier he's got into the final but he's given himself a full sense of security there because yanx sin is going to come out hot in the third set I think he takes the third set six games to two and he's leading 2-1 Taylor Fritz has to come back again from two sets to one down if he's to win this US Open can he do it I think it goes all the way to tiebreak we don't get any breaks of serve in the fourth set and you know what happens when we go to tie breaks with yanx sinner I think yanx sinner wins the US Open in four sets in a fourth set tie break and he lifts his second Grand Slam title but that's just my prediction tell me your prediction in the comment section below and if you haven't already smash a like
