President Nelson's 100th Birthday Celebration

♪ Happy birthday ♪ ♪ to you. Happy birthday to you. ♪ It was a 100th birthday celebration like no other. Russell M. Nelson, prophet and president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, crosses the century mark. To be in a room or in a meeting or in a conversation with President Nelson just gives you the opportunity of experiencing what it would be like to be with the Savior. He is the Savior’s representative, and he is our role model. I wish the members of the Church could have any sense of how much he really loves them and cares for them. It's really quite remarkable. His example extends throughout the Church. Imagine having him with us to observe a 100th birthday. -A blessing. Indeed. In a worldwide broadcast, birthday wishes came from all over the globe. Happy birthday, President Nelson. Hooray! His remarkable influence was celebrated by esteemed friends and fellow Church leaders and family members. Happy birthday, Mr. President. Joyfully and with all the fervor of my soul, I declare to the world that President Russell M. Nelson is a holy man, a mighty prophet of God. President Nelson, I feel claimed by my Savior, Jesus Christ, because I have felt His love through you, His prophet. What a gift. In his effort to hasten the work, he's been the Lord's mouthpiece in receiving and implementing a veritable rush of revelation, as I once called it. Our home was centered on love for each other, on love for the Savior, and on living His gospel. It was full of music, fun, and joy in being together. Thank you Daddy dear, for cherishing us as we cherish you. For the past 23 years of my life, I have been lucky enough to call this wonderful man my great grandfather, and I've been directly blessed by his incredible example of undying devotion and unfailing love. I love this man. His birthday wish, or 99+1 invitation, which encouraged people to reach out to the one in need, was a gift offered by thousands upon thousands throughout the world. I do not know why the Lord has allowed me to live this long. You have made my life more wonderful. I express profound gratitude and love. The length of your life is not as important as the kind of life that you live. For each of us, even for a 100-year-old man, life passes quickly. My prayer is that you will let God prevail in your life. Prepare to return to live with Him again.
