is this your first rewind uh is this my do I put this up yes please well there we go a microphone uh it is not my first rewind but it's I think it's my first rewind this year 2024 excellent I'm glad you caught us on today cuz it's so sunny and so 40,000 people out there get waiting for you 40 40,000 home yeah wow that's pretty sexy that's a lot of people that is a lot of people does that make you nervous do you get nervous before a performance I always get anxious you know I'm an anxious performer but I've learned recently to sort of maybe not drink alcohol and do all those things that give you anxiety that prompt and promote those you think they helping correct but they're not they're not um also I've been doing a lot of shows recently I'm doing Rocky Horror at the moment so I feel quite match fit you know but uh rewind being yourself is always a little more difficult than playing a character in a way because you have nowhere to hide and I like to bring you know to all my shows I like to bring my own personality uh to it cuz that's part of my are you naturally extrovert or do you have to kind of um I think I become more and more so um but again I love uh hiding behind characters so and you know um I've always been a massive uh pop music fan and what happened to me in the 80s and the early '90s uh went beyond my dream and uh so I just sort of had to learn on the job and you're playing a character of yourself almost in a ways that Arc that you had it's funny we we were talking to Keith Duffy a little bit earlier and Keith was a pop star first yes and then kind of got into the Soaps the Soaps and stuff yeah the other way around the other way around whereas you were somebody we were so familiar with in Neighbors you're a jobbing actor very successful in that and then had this sort of amazing turn into music which a lots of people do it lasted oh my God you know it launched this whole other yeah career that's you know beautiful thank you it's so beautiful I I'm uh I'm going to take that I um I guess where it sort of moved in particularly for me was musical theater and that's what I'm saying now you're in the Rocky Horror Show at the moment and doing this it's sort of playing a character um and combining the music thing um was something that sat very well with me and Joseph obviously uh yeah and still working I work hard I work very hard yeah I I like to keep busy you know I think it's important to keep focused do what you love correct it was lovely to see you and Kylie doing the the end the final of the neighbors the neighbors thing I think everyone was desperate ref to do another another duet to kind of I don't know whether I don't know necessarily whether that was on the cards but look neighbors was uh an incredible moment uh for not just myself and Kylie but you know marot Robbie Russell Crow was in you know guy Craig um there's so many people launch from there I think you know to um pay respect to Where it All Began and you know it was something that changed my life forever and you know when I reached out to Kylie and guy and Guy reached out we sort of did it simultaneous we thought this has just got to happen for all the right reasons you know so a lot of people of said yes but it was you know so small but it was always going to be a nod it was just a nod and um like little bow on the on the present I think you two kind of being in it also we were in it for four years you know it's a 35y old story you know so you know let's pay respect to all those other people but anyway it's a great moment probably meant a little bit more to the fans than it than it necessarily did to us on the day cuz it's a job um but you you know the bump from that moment you know really proves that Nostalgia which is sort of why we're here today is is pretty pretty alive and well you know you clearly have a massive audience still you're going out on the road next year on a big doing fine tour 2025 which is sort of a uh a celebration of my live work for 35 years and if I'm honest that's the thing that sort of kept me um interested I mean I've always said to my my kids my daughter's an actor um uh and I always said to just keep your eye on the craft and the rest will sort of follow or not um so you know in a way this tour for me is a sort of a nod to that that live work that I've done um and it's going to be a great tour lots of songs maybe a couple of chobis stories a few little lies in there as well just to just to keep it all just to your up you know maybe odd little sparkly number poie here and there come on nothing like a little lie to keep us all quiet well listen have a fabulous performance we will be front and center Che lovely to see you keep going you look at you you're all we're doing all right our children are slowly grinding the the the life force out of those that is true and we love them so much I'm sleeping less I'm sleeping less love to see you
