President Nelson's Birthday Commemoration Discussion!

all right hi everybody welcome my Homestead welcome to my channel my name is Jared and uh we just saw hopefully you got to see President Nelson's broadcast and we can share notes and talk about how we felt I thought that was pretty good so let me just start out by reading some of the chat Nicholas Leed better it was a great broadcast Venom Rogue one that was awesome Matt's Trucking Adventures hello from a truck stop in northeastern Pennsylvania uh what an awesome celebration that was Venom Rogue won 30 minutes south of Joe Smith birthplace Memorial in Vermont oh that's where Venom's from or where they're at alisandra so beautiful pitched okay pitched on the hunt did anyone else notice the small editing cut in president Nelson's message almost like something is being saved for later uh I mean that could be it it may have just been an edit I do it all the time when I'm doing my videos I'm sure that you guys right do you notice when I do my edits like sometimes I'll just be like talking and then I mess up my words and it's like oh and I have to like edit it out and pretend like it never happened and pick up where I left off I think sometimes I do a good job at that but other times I I don't think it comes over so well um so who knows Venom says filming is no easy chore likely had an outtake wink yeah it's probably what it was but who knows chrisen Curry yes I noticed the editing cut lenzo wow that was wonderful well what was your your guys's favorite part put it in the chat or if you're watching this afterwards put it in the comments below what was your favorite part for me I think I I really enjoyed watching uh president Oaks and president iring talk about president Nelson there was just something about that conversation that made me smile and it was just good to hear them interact I guess I always like it because you know whenever we hear from them usually it's just one person that's speaking whether it's at General Conference or some special address or or you know area devotional or something like that but it's like really fun for me to see them interact with each other and I just I enjoyed that conversation okay um let's see Penny Tidwell such a great celebration red balloon birthday cake Christine Curry uh his back must be better he had no problem popping up and giving hugs no he didn't he didn't it looks like he's doing just fine um which is really good because uh i' been hearing some things that like he didn't seem like he was doing too well but that's not what I saw I I was surprised I didn't know what exactly what format this um broadcast was going to take uh in my mind for some reason I pictured like a pre-recorded thing that was like mostly like uh what they had in between talks like going around to different people and different countries and people saying happy birthday and maybe having like some kind of like inspirational story from his past like that's I didn't know that it was there were going to be speakers so uh that was that was a surprise to me it was a pleasant surprise okay Venom Rogue he was pretty slept for a man of 100 is that like is that like the new slang for something I I'm 40 so now I'm like out of the loop September mensia I thought the cut was just a zoom in not necessarily a cut in film maybe you're right though Jesus is the only way he was doing great for 100 and have a bad back injury at his age yeah oh Venom clarifies it wasn't slept it was spry so let's try that again he is pretty spry for a man of 100 he is he was looking good I feel like he still has like a ways to go you know whenever sister Nelson has said that she's seen him get younger um I wish I knew like all the details behind that maybe it's just like the energy that he has or maybe literally in some way he has he definitely like to me he definitely looks older but he's still going pretty strong I think that's my assessment so I I fully unless something happens I fully expect to hear from him uh in this upcoming General Conference um okay let's see oh I just saw Mindy from Temple of Jesus wow I love that picture of the Savior behind you yeah well that is actually from Ginger McGovern she's one of my subscribers we didn't plan this I didn't plan this with with Mindy um let's do that right now so while we while we wait for some more people to join the chat um I now partnered with ginger McGovern Full of Life president Nelson Has Zan messages he had some he said something to Wendy while we were all singing we thank the oh God for a prophet wonder what that was yeah if only we could be a fly on the wall or like on his suit in that moment and uh see everything I really like Wendy Nelson a lot she she has said so much I I I feel like I've heard more from her than other from previous uh wives of presidents of the church she's dropped a lot of breadcrumbs and I can tell that she's such a good companion to him and takes really good care of him I love seeing them together and it was just it Darth Vader dies I mean I don't know huh said what what did I miss uh James Earl Jones the voice of Darth Vader uh that that actor he passed away today jenck is over there sitting on the bed listening uh Millennial Messiah president Nelson gave us all blessing too but didn't say what it was for I noticed that uh that was one of my notes I'm going to share my notes I don't have a whole lot but you know it's okay I I'll take that blessing I'm he he said he was going to give he was invoking a blessing uh for each precious one of us and I don't know I'll take it you'll take it right I'll take it Jesus is the only way says what blessing I didn't see that part someone say please or where to find it it's just like at the very end of his like when President Nelson's talking it's at the end of his uh talk or address uh ter or terj Olsen says it was great to see him I feel we have feel we will have him for a long time hi from Sweden oh they were talking about Swedish in the devotional I have seen most of your videos that's that is an accomplishment if I could somehow verify that any any of you watched all my videos I would literally buy you something and send you something in in the mail thank you guys I'm glad that you enjoy the channel um let me just share some of my notes I'd appreciate to hear some of your notes as well if you took any notes I liked that uh president Holland was the first one to talk just like last General Conference and uh he said a few interesting things he he mentioned the trip to Jerusalem that's pretty much how president Nelson's presidency began uh he went with President Holland to Jerusalem I think it was significant he talked about the Rome Italy Temple and then he said I guess I didn't know this but he said that President Nelson speaks seven 17 languages or at least he's like he can get along in in 17 languages Let me just do a quick search I heard that right didn't I can you can anybody confirm let's see Russell M Nelson 17 languages I'm not seeing anything right away um if you're new to the channel the reason why that caught my attention is because there's been a lot of interesting uh 17s showing up during his presidency he he is the 17th president of the church I'm not going to go through the whole list right now there's a lot of stuff but that makes it even more interesting if he speaks 17 languages and then he me and then president Holland mentioned um how like how he's appreciated like this Rush quote unquote Rush of Revelation that's come through president Nelson and that uh it's a hastening you know and and how couldn't it be I mean with so many things so packed together so like it's just like what um Elder NE Maxwell said one time in a conference talk that we can expect to see a compression of events um I feel like this could be part of that it's definitely been a compression of events uh in the church let's see and then you had Reverend Dr Reverend Dr Amos Brown that spoke that was nice uh that was kind of like big news in the beginning of President Nelson's presidency uh I think it was like in 2018 2019 maybe where stories were coming out about him connecting with the NAACP which I think has been a good thing for the church then his do his uh great granddaughter spoke Ashley Owens I didn't have any notes from that but it was good hearing from her um and then uh president Camille and Johnson the General Relief Society president spoke uh she pointed out president Nelson's emphasis on women's role in preparing for the second coming and uh of course there there that's come through a couple different ways um for one president Nelson Has emphasized uh president Spencer W Kimble's prophecy that the women of today uh the good women of the church would bring in large numbers of people into the church uh in particular they would attract the good women of the world uh along with their families into the church that the women of right now are those women that uh president Spencer W Kimble fora and for that reason I you know I offered to do um to promote sisters in the church that wanted to start a YouTube channel I've done a couple waves of that I did the first wave of which uh Mindy from temples of Jesus Channel she started her channel the first time and and she said that she's going to make some new videos so I'm excited for that um and then I did a second round and um it's been great I'm not doing any more uh interviews at this point or anymore like promoting new channels so that has now closed but still still do it please um if you feel the prompting to do a YouTube channel a Facebook group a Tik Tok account you know if you feel the urge to use this technology that's been given to us to spread the gospel and barrier t Tony then then do it okay and then there's a bunch of people confirming that that President Nelson speaks 17 languages uh Nicholas Leed better says his language speaking is incredible it talks about that a lot in the book by Sherry do um yeah up until this point I think all I knew is that he is that he learned uh Mandarin uh Chinese um I think it was Spencer W Kimble I can't remember but uh president Nelson at the time I don't think he was I don't think he was in the quum of the 12 apostles yet but he was in a meeting where president Spencer W Kimbell said that you know Brethren I think we all ought to learn Chinese um because of the the future of the church and president Nelson's like well I didn't hear him you know say that there were any exceptions and I was in the room so he took it seriously and he learned Chinese and that and there was a payoff for that um uh in fact it's under President Nelson's presidency that the Shanghai China Temple has been announced and uh I I you know I don't know that we know the full story of everything all of his interactions with the Chinese but I'm sure that it's helped him uh once he became president of the church and before as well with like Building Bridges uh with the Chinese uh yeah Ginger confirms it was 17 languages Guardian says can't have 17 without seven yep um oh Rachel's here Rachel is starting to make videos again so everyone make sure to subscribe to her husband's in the Army so so she knows she knows all about challenge coins Ginger McGovern says I also thought it was interesting that he referred to his first wife and children sealed as Eternal family and that wind Wendy is also his eternal companion yes um yeah yeah I I've talked about that before I can't go too much into that topic people lose their minds but but yes that's true it's it's true uh God's tender Mercy says president Nelson looks stronger than I thought he would look the Lord is sustaining him for as long as we need him yeah well both him and uh president Holland well and potentially president Oaks and president iring uh they're all in their 90s uh the the first presidency is yeah you have to wonder why there's a reason there is a reason I I don't know that we can say why at this point Bute that's one thing that President Nelson kind of talked about in his talk he said I'm paraphrasing I took the best notes that I could he said I don't know why the Lord has allowed me to live this long uh there were several instances where I could have died or he said something to that effect but hel heaven but Heavenly help has rescued us or rescued me so he's telling us that you know he doesn't know why we've speculated on the channel could it be because you know he's going to be one of the first ones to be uh changed in the twinkling of an eye like he'll he'll be here for the second coming and then the Millennium will be ushered in and then he'll be one of the first ones to be changed the new type of death I'd like to think so but he said he doesn't know why and then uh in conference president Holland said you know he he was like the Lord's given me the gift of a few more weeks or possibly a few more months um but it seemed like he should have died when he when he was in the hospital he had a near-death experience came back back he came back he didn't just come back he came back with an admonition he said that he received like an admonition of um like urgency as though he wasn't being urgent before so even more urgent so gosh I don't know this like next few months and year it's going to be interesting uh Rachel with women and priesthood again make sure to sub subscribe to her says Elder Irene compared Russell M Nelson's desire to finish the temple quote unquote to Joseph's urgency to finish the temple wow yeah uh there is definitely an urgency with everything um with temples uh he there there was a part where um who said it I think it was during that conversation between President Oaks and some present iring where is it okay let me find it um yeah yeah they were talking I think this was president iring that said this but he was talking about the fact that President Nelson uh VI you know knows and Views the ordinances of the temple as the most important thing that that yes uh we need to get these temples out throughout the world to try try and bring them closer to the people and you know we're going to try and make them lovely and everything and that's great but the most important thing is the ordinances and getting on the Covenant path so we've seen an explosion of temples being announced um and there's been all sorts of hastening of the work uh like he like when he became president of the church he just like hit the ground running and when I say he I don't mean he like obviously they have some part of it each president of the church has some part in the direction of the church but ultimately the direction comes from Christ and it comes through the spirit and maybe sometimes in some cases actual visitations of Christ in fact I have a video coming out tomorrow because I wanted to see like what articles were going to be published uh throughout the world about President Nelson becoming or turning 100 and it was so sad to see like how like their take on his presidency and how it's like they cut out the Revelation part that that Christ is and I wouldn't expect like the New York Times or you know companies like that to necessarily say that but anyway just watch my video tomorrow uh it was kind of a strongly worded video because there there's members of our church that seem to not have a testimony of the prophet and what a prophet is you know they put like these like restraints on him and think that they know better and and it's like they don't understand that we we receive continuing Revelation we're there's going to be things that come down the pipeline that we haven't heard before you know potentially new doctrine new ways of doing things especially once we get to the Millennium so it it hasn't all been revealed they they keep stressing the point that the restoration is ongoing and Elder Bednar I think this was in a YouTube video I have the I have the quote on one of my spreadsheets he T he defined what the ongoing restoration is is that number one it's not complete Joseph Smith received everything that's necessary for exaltation like for all of us to obtain exaltation but uh the restoration is ongoing and it includes things that haven't even been revealed before so expect it it's going to happen uh Shayla Kenny says you in a wrinkling of an eye ah with stars okay and then I saw there's some okay Ginger McGovern says he said three times he could have died yeah I wonder if that's in his book like he he has at least the one autobiography I think it's called Heart to Heart we've read from it before I think it's heart to heart that's his autobiography I wonder if he talks about it there okay let me catch up Lindo says I noticed how young president Nelson looks yeah I I I'd say that he's looking pretty good for 100 years old uh he's looking better than my great grandma when you know uh she almost got to and uh I feel like he looks better than she did do you guys know anybody that's 100 years old put the number 100 in the chat if you know somebody that's 100 years old or older I'd be curious to see Goblin 2004 I love seeing president Russell Nelson at the end playing with the balloon that fell he seemed to be having fun yeah my wife and kids like that part I didn't notice it because I was I was sitting here at the desk and like the the TV's over there the beds over there so they're like watching the TV and I was like taking notes and I was looking over when I whenever I could I did look at the replay though uh kation in your life make covenants with him stay on the Covenant path prepare to return to live with him again yeah so those are like some of your notes from this anybody have any other notes or any other like favorite Parts lenzo says he was up and down from his chair with ease and a lot yeah I didn't see like a cane or Walker or wheelchair of course that could have that could have come later like uh offscreen but getting up and down like it didn't seem like it was a problem okay my wife has something you want to come no okay Jen Jennica is gonna share hi everybody um my favorite was when his daughter spoke and she spoke about just how great of a man he was um a father and how he was there for them his whole life and all the the parti anticipation that he took in all their lives that was just my favorite thinking it made me think of how better I could be as a mom and I know this is not second coming or anything but that's what I took away from it and what I liked and hi everybody and that's all okay bye any other any uh Nicholas lead better says that was another interesting part of the book he almost died in a plane that was falling oh yeah that's right yeah right and about the uh to crash he almost drowned while whitewater rafting and was beat up and almost killed in a what was beat up and almost killed in Africa I I didn't know that but yeah the the the plane uh the plane incident yeah I feel like I could be wrong but I feel like situations like that could be meant to underscore to to him and to us that know he really really is needed to be president of the church like look I could have let you die here I could have let you die here no I really need you as president of the church that's probably the message that the Lord is conveying through that okay I'm going to skip down oh 199 from borky baby he just recently moved from Salt Lake to Atlanta we're we're following his career with great interest at this point keeps coming up in each uh live stream uh Jennica get my boy some fruit rollups please said that before in another way can't remember when it was it feels like it was probably like a church news article but uh he was talking about the fact like everyone's like oh you know what did you do to live to what did you do to live this long um what's the secret to living this long he's like you know I'm I'm a lot more interested in Sharing what I've learned uh during 100 A Century of living and um what that's taught me yeah it's much more important how we live our life Jesus is the only way says I work where a lady is 101 she's been in in the hospital for a week right now I wonder if she's at the end of life if she's going to start having end of life visioning and stuff like that um I'm hoping to I'm planning on interviewing Amanda the hospice nurse in Oklahoma she's one of my subscribers we were going to do it a little while ago but she's been kind of busy but I I want to talk about those end of life experiences with her Goblin 2004 I liked how his great-granddaughter shared experiences of her living with President Nelson and the things that he taught his family it would be amazing to be one one of his children or grandchildren yeah you know so many people have so many good things to say about him and it's pretty clear that he's Liv he's lived a very good full uh productive life like he's very productive he is he so like when we're thinking about the natural man the way of the natural man is the path of the least resistance right the natural man for all intents and purposes isn't really really alive it's like an animal a robot that's like programmed for survival and it takes the path of the least resistance and so when we're keeping the Commandments and we're living the gospel it requires us to go against that and to like put out um like to to not just be dead things but to actually act and like put out light and uh rise above all that and it's pretty clear that President Nelson has done a very good job in his life not taking the easy Road the path of the least resistance that he's like been firmly in control of his life and he's been productive sorry I'm not the best with words I don't know why I have a YouTube channel but here we are uh Lehi silver I have tickets for Sunday morning General Conference praying hands awesome that's good Debbie Cahill or Cahill uh he has studied 12 languages according to LDS living facts um 57 he has studied at least 12 languages French Latin Greek okay Russian Chinese Spanish Portuguese German Hebrew Bulgarian Czech and Romanian uh from Sher duw Pages 219 to 220 well I don't know when that came out but maybe since that time he's at added some more it wouldn't surprise me uh Jesus is the only way president Nelson is my cousin I just found out I researched his dead dad like first cousins or like second third fourth 10th Daisy made 222 my favorite part uh when he was at the very okay my my favorite part when he was at the very end trying to kick the balloons and push the balloons out away from his face he was totally flailing his Limbs and it was cute Red Heart okay let me let me take a look at my notes really quick again my favorite part out of like the talks was probably president Oaks and president iring talking together it looked like they were probably in the Church administration building but they just like kept talking about his his warmth his love the way that he relates to other people um wh which yeah that's kind of important in a time like this when there's so much divisiveness like we need to become a Zion people and be United be peacemakers uh that was one of his main talks of General Conference I think it was I can't remember at this point I think October 2023 General conference's main talk was peacemakers needed um but yeah they they're they've been impressed how he relates to other people when he's having like when he's in a meeting with people he doesn't lead with his opinion uh he like asks other people their opinion first and then goes uh from there kind of kind of makes me think of uh Star Trek the Next Generation I always admired Captain Bard not not everything but like the way that they wrote his character like he was a very dignified person and you know they'd go into the the conference room and talk about whatever the issue was and he'd be like okay options and he would listen to his whole staff and just like make a very informed choice but he wasn't like a no at all you know and and I see President Nelson the same way that's what people say about him he communicates love um they were talking about the they were talking about the fact that um the Lord they said something to this effect that the Lord has put him in touch with many people of prominence and uh I've done videos about that I've done a number of videos and Elder rasband one time in general conference talked about the fact that he's he's like having more like public he he's been more um he's communicated more than his predecessors he's met with more people um and I've done videos like just showing all these like world leaders that he's met with uh some of the most notable ones are the pope uh when you know when he went to go when President Elon went to go dedicate the Rome Italy Temple he met with uh Pope Francis while he was there that's the first time that a a prophet from our church has met with a sitting Pope and then this one may have been before he became president of the church but there's a CH a church news article where him and I think president iring are walking with Donald Trump like at welfare Square they were like giving him a tour of welfare Square um and there's there's more and Sher do has talked about that in her talk I think it's the talk called uh Celestial training in a telestial world she talked about the fact that she was privy to this like list of dignitaries uh that he had recently met with and she asked him she asked him you know how this all got set up like did he go and reach out to them and he's like no they all reached out to me to come here to Sol City and meet with me so I feel like something special is going on with that and I feel like it it has to do with preparations for the Millennium because right now we only have the uh the ecclesiastical kingdom of God on the earth uh in the church but the the time is going to come where the the political kingdom is implemented and So for anybody that remains after the world is cleansed of wickedness for any any world leaders that remain I think it's going to be important for the church to have a really good relationship with that leadership Jesus is the only way uh probably not Jimmy Carter is heal is healthy for his okay wait before that catch the buzz my question is is Jimmy Carter going to passed away before his his birthday on October 2nd I don't know I wonder if there's any news about him if you don't know Jimmy Carter and president Nelson are about the same age they're just a month apart so president Nelson just turned 100 today Jimmy Carter turns 100 on um October 1st um there's a couple like art there's there's an article from today Savannah Morning News more acts added to Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday bash at Atlanta's Fox Theater yeah there's like a bunch of Articles today talking about his his upcoming uh birthday party uh commemoration I feel like there's some connection in there I'm not going to go through the whole list but there's been all these like notable leaders that have been like the longest living the longest serving of their of their kind that have represented all these different countries the UK China the Soviet Union there's like this whole list and the one that's missing is the longest the longest living president of the United States or like President former president like the longest living one and it's Jimmy Carter so if if this is like a series you know it seems like he would probably be the last one representing the United States it's it's just something that's happening I I don't know if it means anything but Ronald Dunlap says I heard that the new medical school announced for BYU might be named for Russell M Nelson yeah I wouldn't be surprised I feel like it should be but I guess we'll see Jesus is the only way I joined the church in 202 so I'm hoping Nelson is here a long time I don't like change yeah that's it's a good question the books of Academia Earl James Earl Jones is also the Lion King Mufasa oh yeah I knew that yeah um another King dies on President Nelson's 100th birthday so not only um Darth Vader which I guess he never really became king so to speak because he was always under the emperor but King Mufasa died today uh Betty horn I just learned last night that a friend of ours grew up in in his Ward president Nelson was his stake president and dancel was his Sunday school teacher and some of his children were classmates oh that's neat skan 4 or scan 4 says I loved it when elder H said something to the effect of soon the soon the world will know uh president Nelson's soon the world will know president Nelson's made my heart SK skip a beat yeah I remember that too I was um that caught my ear when he said soon the world will know and then I think he went on to say something like um he was talking about President [Music] Nelson's like unifying effect or something like that like how much of a unifier he's been does anybody else remember is that what that was I think that's what it was okay how long have we've been going 46 minutes well I think I'm going to wrap it up here uh I feel like this was a really Landmark event um I don't know that we fully understand the implications of having a a president of the church that's reached 100 it's the first time that it's happened in our dispensation and I feel like it it's not just I don't think it's just random I think that there is meaning to it but we'll just have to wait and see how things play out um one more time just really been a bunch of Articles saying that he's kind of like he's declining but he is but that he's still you know going Goblin says my wife and I were born in 1974 and we have known president uh Kimble
