Starting a Cafe at 19 from SCRATCH

[Music] so why why am I doing this I want to show what it's like the behind the scenes starting up the cafe like the bad the good the ugly whatever I know it's going to be hard I know it's going to be a lot of challenges but I think that's the point I want to be able to share that with you guys starting a cafe is like a dream for so many people so if I can authentically show that Journey maybe it'll help them um so that's what it's kind of about that's what I kind of want to do and yeah challenge myself as well that's that's a huge part of it and I like a challenge and truth is don't really know what I'm doing but I'm figure it out along the way but I think that's the beauty of it I figuring out as I go but yeah let's get into it as for the inside I dropped some PLS a while back pop them up on the screen now kind of have the idea of what I wanted to look like take you through it now so I'm thinking like Ping here all around um you like a white St I'm like I'm liking the dark dark Timber I Reon I don't know I feel like it soes the spot joinery all along shelving bit of fridge here um toasy machine here for Toasties and then ovens shout out Mom we're going to be baking cinnamon Scrolls in here so they'll be baked right here and then everything will just be served directly out [Music] here then this cute little room hopefully um sandwich prep then we just passing through have some designated sandwich prepper in here and storage as well here toilet always so what I've I've been doing so far what what stage am I to so right now I'm still kind of in the planning stages I've got a proper architect so I used my rough very rough sketches and turn it into something that like the builders can actually used so I pop up on the screen now they also did some renders which was sick you hear that wind so now I got the plans I'll be able to spread that with all the Tradesman and whatnot and sort of start getting some prices for for what things cost this spot needs a lot of electrical work done there's like no power points like whatsoever there a nice electrical box so that helps which means you can connect a bunch up and the Machine the coffee machine needs a lot of power 25 amp Plumbing there's a water supply here so that'll have to be fed around the coffee machine around the walls and sink here which then the drainage will go through that lovely little pipe there and then yeah joinery so joinery is like the the wood workor if you don't know so they'll make all that in like their own warehouse and then they'll bring it all in and kind of fix it to the to the walls and stuff as for the uh the menu I want to do simple things so it's like easy for people to learn how to make it but like do them well so like Master the basic So the plan is like two really nice like Italian style sandwiches Mortadella suppressor like Boton Chini whatever um and then like two simple Toasties so it's like you still can have that that nice high quality fora as well or you can have a really nice toasty so that's kind of the goal of food also want to do these like really inspired by like Japanese culture their food their architecture and one of the things they do is these strawberry sandwiches I feel like they would go off so I might have to do them so yeah it's pretty bald right now but I want to show you guys the beginning so when it is all set up really see how much it's kind of evolved this business is like my baby just like nurturing it feeding it yeah kind of watching it grow over time it's really special so for seating I want to have some nice little stools I did want the the stools which like connect here and they like come up like this that would be nice I might hold on them for now then here don't ask why there's a shopping cart I have no idea yeah some high stols here through the like the wooden theme and then on the other side of the wall there'll be a nice spot for a bench and then of course my A-frame signs you go one out there one down the road and then maybe a menu right there you know but yeah that's kind of the goal you guys had a really good idea which I agree with just the plant Wall go all along there I'm not sure how it's going to be attached but that is a good idea I'll pop up on screen now the plan for like the wooden P all right now I'm heading back to the city and going to talk to this woodwork SL Craftsman guy about setting up some some tables and stools maybe cuz there's some really like good local woodsmen and Craftsmen I want to work with but just don't know if it's in my budget um cuz I didn't realize how expensive stools and and tables are your Cafe is so yeah talk to him now and see how it goes cuz one thing you do have to check your budget cuz uh your money will slip away quickly if if you're not careful so trying to budget things as best as I can especially cuz I'm not working right now I need to be careful cuz my budget isn't huge and there's plenty of things that I would love to do but it's all about just doing the best of what you got and that means me checking Facebook Marketplace for furniture every day then that's all right that's what I got to do just make the most of what I got ah guys you have to all right so we just went to proof proof Patisserie and we got some bread we got some Pacha looking nice jeez it's exactly what we want this guy might be making Sandos in the cafe so seeet AR on as well damn oh days good that's fresh good amount in Mazy pan it's not too hard like dry yeah it's not dry a lot of them are dry just too dense as well like the croissant itself is too dense don't make a mess so that'll be like the second option I have like Sim Scrolls and then one other thing like I'm going just tear off some of this perfect might be the one so what have I been doing I can't really do much with the cafe right now like physically cuz most of it has to be done by licensed Tradesman what I'm doing mainly is kind of connecting up all the dots right now so trying to line up all my Tradesman so that mainly consists of a lot of emails plenty of emails back and forth between like Architects and Builders electricians plumbers whatnot and then when I'm not doing that I'd either be at the gym which I'm going now or tonight I'm going to play some tennis it's nice it's like yes it's it's still work but I get to kind of pick and choose when I work which is which is fun um I I'm kind of like shooting myself in the foot a little bit cuz I'm not working at the moment so I just see the the savings account slowly depreciate which you know so I decided to take some time off cuz it was pretty much go go go now I wanted that little time in between the two spots but uh yeah up to me flying Tenny was hella talk Ino L what are you doing he's dressing for
