In Newport News tonight, an investigation is underway after police officers shot and killed a man following an armed bank robbery. Now this comes just days after police chief Steve Drew highlighted the city's decrease in major crimes. Emily Harrison breaks down what we know so far in this investigation. And those recent statistics, Newport News, police say 39 year old Stefan Williams of Hampton is dead. Police say Williams and two others robbed the bank at gunpoint at the Navy Federal Credit Union on Jefferson Avenue, Saturday afternoon, law enforcement say they quickly found the individuals and while two of the suspects surrendered, police say Williams did not, an individual gets out in his hand is a firearm.
