[Music] [Applause] [Music] my research really focuses on the immune system basically it's a system we have in our bodies to fight off infections um so if we get the flu or other types of microorganisms that can cause disease then we have the immune system which fights it off and I study specifically one cell type of the immune response which is called the T cell if we better understand how t cells work we might be able to enhance their ability to clear infection or maybe stop them from acting in a way to cause disease but this collaboration we're very interested in trying to develop more generalized understanding of how do swarms function so if we can map out how do individual either cells or ants or robots interact do they come together and function together as a group we might be able to apply that like I said to more effective robotic search or to other domains like social media to understand how do group dynamics work by understanding how do individuals work within the group you
