Well, Greg, we warn people that this might be one of the hottest days of the year and I'm hoping that that means it's all downhill from here. Is that how it works? That's typically how it works. Right. It would be nice if it worked that way. But yeah, this could be the hottest day of the year. It looks like we're headed that way and temperatures do get a little bit better this week. So hopefully we can get them down below 100 and keep them that way. We hope we hope so. Let's get it, get you out the doors one more time here. Looking at downtown Dallas. Just a few high thin clouds pushing into the area here for today. Those temperatures though, they are starting to climb 96 already. That two point a little bit better than it was last week. Maybe over the weekend. It's not quite as humid, still feels like it's, uh, 102 though out there for you right now, those winds are gonna be pretty light out of the west and southwest six MPH right now. So, we're gonna be in that 5 to 10 mile per hour range as we go through the rest of today. So 95 getting out to Louisville right now, 90 heading over to Plano and you'll see the temperatures even in the upper eighties as we get a little farther east Greenville at 90 but Celeste at 89 right now, along with Terrell, the clouds a little bit thicker in our eastern counties. Those thinning out though as they come far as we come farther west. So we're looking at those upper nineties heading out towards Springtown, Weatherford already back up to 95. So it's gonna be hot over most, most of North Texas. The exception will be up far northeastern counties, but all of North Texas still under the heat alerts that excessive heat warning for all of the uh, metro and surrounding counties and outside of that, we're looking at that heat advisory still in effect through this evening as well. So it will be quite hot with that heat index. 105 to 110, maybe even getting closer to 111 at times a little bit later on today in the excessive heat warning area. So, yes, it is gonna be very hot dangerously. So today, 106 to 107, Dallas over to Fort Worth you see that record high. We'll see how close we get to that today and we'll be certainly in the neighborhood of 108. So just last summer where we had those a string of consecutive record setting days last summer. And those temperatures though, only in the mid to upper nineties, a little farther east. So a little bit of a break into that, that front kind of working its way through the back door will ease across the arrest of North Texas, bringing our temperatures down just a tad as we head toward the middle of the week. And certainly for the latter half of the week, we may be below 100. So we'll take anything we can get at this point. All right, let's get you out and show you what it looks like with the air quality alert for today. We do have an ozone action day in effect, air quality could become a concern. We're in that the level orange category with the uh forecast air quality. So it could be unhealthy for sensitive groups. So keep that in mind today as well. If you're gonna be out and about for any extended period of time, if you're sensitive to those ozone levels, something to be aware of. But you may just wanna stay indoors anyway because it will be so hot. Also looking that elevated fire danger this week, it is quite dry and we're starting to see that pocket, the pockets of a moderate drought showing up. We saw that last week. So that's something else to keep in mind over the next several days as well. Now, as far as the rain is concerned though. We've seen a few showers clipping off. Far northeastern counties really out over the architect region. So nothing in North Texas at all. As far as the rain is concerned that uh tapered off though down into portions of Louisiana. So you see that ridge of high pressure, everything rotating around that. So that remains firmly in control here for today. But it has allowed a few clouds to work their way into a northeastern counties, but we're gonna stay rain free right through the next several days, right on into next weekend. Even beyond that rain, chances look pretty slim for us. Heat is gonna remain the big story today. Certainly, we're looking at highs up around 106 to 107 out toward Abilene triple digits heading down to Austin, San Antonio, even toward hug and a little bit later on today. Now again, we will take a little bit of a dip in those temperatures still maybe up around 100 as we get into Wednesday. But then beyond that, we're looking at some upper nineties on Thursday and Friday, that will be the case on into the upcoming weekend. And then as we begin to wrap up the month of August the following week, we're looking at those temperatures still in the upper nineties. And as we get into the holiday weekend, heading toward Labor Day, some very low in rain chances for those daytime highs in the upper nineties, we'll have more midday after this.
