so this video from Dolphins quarterback Tua Tong aloa has been making the rounds on social media in a recent interview on The Dan leard show he came after his former head coach Brian Flores calling him a terrible person so let's watch the Tua clip then Brian flores's response and let's get into all the details can you explain to us the difference in Practical terms between having a coach who did believe in you the way that he did and the difference between that and what was happening with florids yeah well to put it in simil terms if if you woke up every morning and I told you you suck at what you did that you don't belong doing what you do that you shouldn't be here that this guy should be here that you haven't earned this right and then you have somebody else come in and tell you dude you are the best fit for this like you are accurate you are the best whatever you are this you are that like how would it make you feel listening to one or the other you see what I'm saying and then you hear it you hear it regardless of what it is the good or the B and you hear it more and more you start to actually believe that so now let's break down what Brian Flores had to say things want to talk about so I'll address those too um not specific to uh the filament El by T um I just want to say look I'm I'm I'm happy genuinely happy uh genuinely uh genuinely happy for the success that TS had um and I really wish him nothing but the best of and you I think the player relationships are very important to me they I think that's kind the foundation of coaching and I got into coaching because I was impacted as a as a as a a young guy by High School coach college coach by my got in coaching because I want to make that same kind of impact positive impact pour into young people help him become know G say all time the best versions of themselves and you know that's really my goal so so first things first just wow Tu tongoa came out and just straight up said that Brian Flores is a terrible person and um after what he said like it's hard to deny it texting your franchise quarterback every morning saying that he sucks is not a good way to inspire people Brian Flores in that in that press conference Flores was saying how you got into coaching to inspire people to to lead to make people to be the best version of themselves and then to do that to Tua is just like what are you saying a head coach someone in a position of power should be supporting those around him and I understand Brian flores's point of view he wanted to draft Justin Herbert number fifth overall but instead the Dolphins took Tua so he kind of used that against him through his whole time in Miami and so even after they didn't draft Herbert the Miami Dolphins were all in on trying to get DeShaun Watson and that didn't work out so they were kind of stuck with Tua and instead of believing In Tua trying to help him to be the best quarterback for your team he just straight up on him the whole time and how do you expect a player to play to his best performance if you don't Inspire confidence in that player most of the game is right up here if someone's not in the right mental or head space they're not not going to perform well and I know Tua struggled especially in his first couple years in Miami and I he's not he's definitely not a bus but like he's not the same quarterback that people thought he was going to be coming out of college and um but still you can't you just straight up can't treat your players that way and it's no surprise he got fired and it's no surprise that it's who knows if he's ever going to get another head coaching gig and this is another thing Brian Flores comes from the bill tree of coaches how many times do these Bill bich disciples struggle coaching when they become a head coach they struggle with player personalities look at look at McDaniels in in with the Raiders um even when he left the Colts like at the runway almost it's just what is going on with these with these ex Patriots assistant coaches when they get the head coaching job they all try to be like Bill bich but the reason why bill bich is able to even act that way it's because of the Rings it's because of the success Brian Flores hasn't won anything as a time as head coach but yet he has the nerve to to talk to his players that way and even I bet you even Bill bich wouldn't talk to players that way because that's just not a way to build a winning culture or a winning team and now and now Tua has a head coach in Mike McDaniels that actually believes in him and his talent and the and the difference is already Stark to went from being what people thought as a bust to now a top quarterback in the NFL whether you just agree on his talent or you say it's just a system there's no denying that he produces in that system so mcdel comes in Believes In Tua builds the offense around his strengths and look at the success Miami's had albeit they haven't won a playoff game in his time but they're doing way better than they were in years previous way better and that offense is built around to his accuracy with all those Speedy wide receivers they just get they run the routes get open a lot of timing and it's perfect for two style of football and it really just goes to show you when you're trying to build a team trying to build a roster what goes on in the locker room is just as important as what goes on on the field there's no like in order in order to win in the NFL in order to win in sports in general you have to inspire confidence in your players like I said before if your players are not in the right mindset they're not going to play well and all these coaches in the NFL they want to be leaders of men how can you be a leader if you're treating people that way that's not very inspiring so just it was just so interesting to see tu's perspective on this and that he's so open to talking about it because usually you never ever hear stuff like this from players about their ex- coaches or from ex- coaches about their former players unless like they they've retired it's been a long time but this is only two years ago and it's just just absolutely crazy to see
