welcome back to the movie Draft House I'm your host Mark and I'm joined by nobody because it's a five minute review and in today's review we're going to be talking about the recently released Netflix original R-rated comedy incoming it's out now as of uh August 23rd and it runs for an hour and a half uh it's directed by Dave and John shernan it's also written by Dave and John uh Stars Mason Thames uh Raman Reed Raphael Alejandro Isabella Ferrera Alig gallo and Bia Siri um nobody you've likely ever heard of before um and I I looked at Mason themes and he is uh relatively I'm I'm sorry Mason themes was uh the star of uh the black phone so uh if you've seen that and he was pretty good in that um and he's fine here but uh this movie is not good either um it's a it builds itself as a The Coming of Age story about a group of incoming freshmen at high in at the high school level and uh they celebrate by um getting into a night of shenanigans uh that starts at a at a party for uh I guess the the you know kickoff the school year but uh Mason themes' character is trying to be a new himym and by being a new himm he uh essentially get gets rid of all the things that made him who he was and so uh the story is All About You Know forging your own identity but uh maybe a bit too on the nose it has zero identity um this film tries to be all all the things things that every other Coming of Age High School uh story high school night of shenanigans films that you've ever seen before however it doesn't do anything new um the it's I mean Bobby uh can ofil is a uh has a small bit role in this and and he's by far having the most fun he knows what kind of movie it is he knows the type of character that he's playing um he's like this movie should have been essentially him uh and and that's it but uh it's it's not good like um I really I really did enjoy Mason themes and and Ramone Reed's uh characters Rafael Alejandro's characters was he was too too much for me um Bia series character was too much for me um there's a lot of things that just like I didn't need in this film but um it's this just not good I'd skip it this is going to be a very short five minute review um there's just not there's not much here to to really celebrate and I I I just I don't understand why Netflix thought that this was uh a film worth you know throwing money behind um especially the Sheron Brothers I don't I don't even know what movies they've done before but um director nothing nothing this is their first uh uh directoral debut so um explains a lot but uh I mean I applaud them for for trying I applaud them for you know both writing and directing so there's that anyways um we've seen better or this movie sucks one of the two who cares I'll I'll throw both of them up here but uh anyways um what doesn't suck is you hitting that subscribe button when it pops up so you don't miss any future content right here on the podcast and if you want to follow the podcast all your favorite social media platforms we're ovra house you can find us on Twitter Tik Tok Instagram right here on YouTube so give us a like follow And subscribe and don't forget the podcast releases weekly every Thursday on your favorite podcast streaming platform and we'll catch you next time parents been out of town this weekend my brother's s a massive rager new clits are my 3 plus one
