San Diego Padres the last California team to join the major leagues in 1969 the Padres started out with a very late 60s early '70s color scheme brown and yellow a color combination generally more fitting for the inside of an unflushed toilet however in 1985 after losing the World Series to the Tigers the year before yellow would be replaced by Orange and as the '90s rolled along navy blue was added then when the Padres moved to Petco Park in 2004 orange was ditched and the Padre's became a blue and white team like their hated rival the Dodgers they tweaked their uniforms throughout the Majestic era including the immensely boring 2017 to 2019 design once Nike stepped in for 2020 San Diego was back to brown and yellow a nice change since they're the only major league team in town after the Chargers left for La this and Milwaukee I feel are the benchmarks for how good Nike can design a team it's like what Nike would come out with for the Chargers coincidence that both of these designs came out in 201 20 the home white is gorgeous and clean and while I'm not a fan of pinstripes on Gray it does look good here on the road jersey the brown used to be the main road jersey but starting last year it's been an alternate maybe if it said Padre's it'd be suitable to wear at home and on the road all three are paired with their Brown hat which combined with the city's initials still makes me think of Scooby-Doo despite the 4 plus1 rule MLB has allowed San Diego to keep both their light and dark camo uniforms for their military Sunday home games both camo jerseys are nice though the darker one is my preferred version of the two and finally the very SoCal City connect originally introduced in 2022 which I think is not only exciting but also fulfills the assignment of honoring the San Diego Tijana area with its beach party color combo of mint green and pink if it wasn't obvious the Padre's remain a good redesign that concludes the national league join us tomorrow when we travel to the south side of Chicago to begin the American League teams
