between the Florida Atlantic owls and the [Music] Spartans we're here in East Lancing Michigan where the crowd is all pumped up as these teams take the field [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] let's go here come the SP for the owls tell us what we should be on the lookout for from their offense what they like to do is eat up small chunks of yardage at a time mostly with short passes or running between the tackles it's an offense predicated on clock management and ball control these guys don't necessarily focus on hanging onto the ball for long drives they get up to the line and just run plays for Michigan State their receivers are going to have to work extra hard to get over against this corner well this is going to make for some fantastic football because he's going up against one of the most skilled wide receivers in the country now let's take you down to midfield for the coin toss and it's a great time to remind everyone that our game is brought to you by goal line and he makes it out to about the 21 yd line so now the offense and defense are trotting out as we get set for the first [Applause] possession and he is drilled at the 45 yd line not a real fancy play here just a smartly run route good protection and a well-placed ball most times you don't need much more than [Applause] that we've got a first and 10 ball on the 45 yd line they'll give it off here good outside run there four yds on that play gain four on the play it's second down 6 yds to go ball in the [Applause] 49 he gets another carry and he's taken down around the 43 yd line did you see how much space there was for that tail back up front you better be thinking his offensive lineman for that [Applause] first down 10 yds to go ball on the 43 yd [Applause] line and he's tackled after positive yardage four yds gain second and six ball on the 39 up the middle gains his way to the 30 yd line D the sticks after another first down impressive drive by this offense so far I really like what they're doing by keeping this defense on their heels and moving the ball down [Applause] field I'm not sure what happened but one of the players is hurt we've got a first and 10 ball on the 30 he fights forward to about the 29 the running back gets a yard maybe less from the 29 yd line second [Applause] down flips it over the middle of the running back he's tackled at the 21 yd line an 8- yd gain number the tackle the 31 yd line that'll make it third and one here's the eighth play of the series third down they keep it on the ground a great tackle right there and they'll still be a little short on the first down line well they get some positive yards but this defensive line really busted through and broke that play [Applause] up look for a round but he's not going to get there not quite enough for the first looks like they'll turn it over on Downs you know what I think they still made the right call there pass out to the tight end it's incomplete second down 10 Ys to go Rose complete he's got space to work tackle made at the 42 yd line that makes [Applause] it and it's knocked away hey that's a heads up play there by the defender get those hands up and something good may just happen defense coming and the ball comes out inside the 30 for the 10 he's all away touchdown that was a great play by the defense and now they have the momentum things are going their way right now and they'll be right back on the defensive side of the ball trying to make a quick stop so they can get the ball right back he splits the upright for the extra point everyone's all lined up ready for the kickoff he's to the 10 makes it to the 22 yd line it was a rough road on their last drive as the fumble led to a touchdown they just gave the defense a gift by handing them the lead with that last interception now they've got to play from [Applause] behind first down grab great pressure on the quarterback forced that incompletion Bo they really pounded him on that throw makes it second and 10 and they've got the dime package in there to try and deal with this five receiver look caught with room to work and he's taken down at the 31 yd line reception [Applause] that's trying to change the [Applause] play makes the gra and he's got the first he's pushed up bounds right around the 46 yd line first they're calling an audible they'll go Brown he tackles him for a loss no that makes it second and 10 they're changing the play little toss across the middle they bring him down at about the 43 yd line the quarterback best friend is a receiver he can count on catch the ball every time he drops back the pass there's a player shaken up on the play [Applause] from the 43 yd line it's first down hit play to the left and he's tackled at the four yd line that's good for a gain of three yds that'll make it second and [Applause] seven gets it out to his receiver and he can't hang on and a great job that time on defense good job here but let me tell you something that wi out was left out to dry that time there are five wide receivers split out the quarterback in the gun back to pass caught out of the open excellent open field tackle with the catch that's good for a gain of that makes it he's looking to pass finds his man and they take him down immediately on the tack that's good for a gain of five y that brings up second and five he may have changed things up here hands it to the back runs outside for a nice gain car empty backfield quarterback in the gun five wide [Applause] receivers they'll wrestle him down in the back field and that run got stuck yeah you're right the defense definitely won the battle with the line of scrimmage there second down 14 coming up here ball in the [Applause] 23 drop back to pass fires incomplete he was looking for the tight end accuracy is such a vital part of being a quarterback you've got to have an ability to lay the ball right into your guys hands they come out on an empty Back Field it as he throws and as he threw it and it's caught touchdown and they had a tough time defending that one well Brad one of the things with this defense is you leave yourself vulnerable in one-on-one coverage great throw by the quarterback and great speed by the receiver it was a techbook post route and the pass was right on target here's the pat to tie this thing up he flits the uprights with the extra point and here's our Drive summary number Florida Atlantic lines up for the kickoff from the 5yd line makes it to the 22 yd line and here we go with the offense ready to get things going again he tried to run it inside he's hammered and the halfbacks got nowhere to go nice play here by the senior to make the sure tackle it's not very often that someone's able to shake this guy now let's go down to our Seline reporter Aaron Andrews she's got an injury update thanks guys he was complaining about pain in his shoulder and right now the trainers are trying to stretch it out he's been cleared to return to the game guys back up to you upstairs sounds like good news then thanks [Applause] Aaron and he's going to be sacked the protection broke down the defense was in the back field in a hurry and they brought the quarterback down nice play [Applause] [Music] after the sack it's now fourth and long it's away and it's a booming punt he makes it out to maybe the 46 yd line these guys came up with a touchdown in their last drive and they'll be hoping for another six on the board here great passing was the key for the offense the last time they had the ball they were able to pick apart the defense and get down the field for a touchdown and they make the stop at the 46 yd line bring him down no gain that makes it second and 10 [Applause] runs right for a nice gain that's four yds on the play [Music] Mak he's changing things up here's a running play they'll bring him down at about the 47 yd line well they try to keep it on the ground for the first down you know Brad here the defense just steps up and makes a play stopping them and bringing up fourth [Applause] down he gets it away and this is a really nice punt this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback the last time this offense had the ball it was three and [Applause] out runs it right and can't get away nice tackle maybe a few but that's it it's second down eight to go ball on their own [Applause] 22 and they'll run him again and down he goes at about the 25 yd line a pickup of about three the defense called The Blitz at the right time they were able to come after the running back before he went for big [Applause] yards he's looking to pass fires incomplete the ball just sailed on him and he knows it he'll get it next time fourth down it's fourth down here comes the punter looking to boot this one away it was the Umpire that threw the flag and generally that's a holding penalty holding on the receiving team way too much Jersey there pretty easy call for the officials we've got a first and [Applause] 10 full back's open he just drops it INE number 36 intended down go all on their own [Applause] 26 it's the tail back he's tackled at the 27 yd line he barely got it past the line of scrimmage that time trying to change the [Applause] play back to pass pulls down the catch and he's got room here there's a very impressive open field tackle Good Start in the passing game that's 100 yds already well the quarterback is making great reads and he's doing a good job of finding his open receiver it's knocked away incomplete he threw that to a guy who was well covered and had almost got intercepted yeah he's very lucky that ball was only tipped got a man watch out here and he's taken down at the 48 boy when you can rely on your tight end to move the chains you got a big time advantage over any defense again way to the 39 yd line nyd Pi that makes it second and [Applause] two throws in complete he was a little erratic on that pass but there's no denying that he can really hum it in there [Applause] third they'll throw for the first he's taken down the 37 yd line [Music] [Applause] throws out to the back and it's through his hands number 28 the intended receiver it's second and 10 ball on the [Applause] 37 here's the option picks up the loose ball is most impressive is how he followed the play and he just didn't give up on it it was that effort that allowed him to come away with the fumble they'll start this drive at the [Applause] 46 run the middle and nothing there picked up a yard of anything on that run so it's second and 10 ball in the [Applause] 47 on the ground he won't get back to the line loss of about two great penetration into the back field and that was just a great hit to finish off the play he drops back no incomplete that'll make it fourth down and they're going to have to punt yeah they just connect on a pass there that was a very good stand by this [Applause] defense they coughed up the pig skin the last time they had the ball let's see if they can hold on to it this time I know they got to Fumble but this defense has to do a better job of slowing down this offense they'll throw on first down and that's a first down getting the ball to your tight in and allowing him to make plays in the passing game can really open things up on the outside be real speed St first down look at the throw loose football they nearly gave that ball away but luckily that guy was paying attention to what was going on and was able to to recover the [Applause] football go from the 38 yd line first down they'll work the right side and there's nothing going there the defense was playing run all all the way right there and it paid off for 14 second and 14 ball on the 42 yd [Applause] line again with the Run EO at the 43 yd line carries the looking to throw W he just took a licky sometimes it's just a Relentless pass rush that results in a sack that's what happened there after the sack it's now fourth and [Music] long the offense will be hoping for a little more success than they had the last timeout they'll set up shot at 33 first down 10 yds to go [Applause] and they get nice on that R pick a good six yds there it's second and five here ball on [Applause] 39 takes a hand off inside and stopped immediately maybe a yard on the Run by the tail back I'm telling you every yard you gain is earned and those were about as tough as as they come and now let's s down to Aaron Andrews with an injury update guys the trainers are saying that he's showing the signs of an abdominal well it doesn't look very serious is [Applause] from Midfield first down they'll line up with five wide receivers catches it for no game that's a pick there was really just nowhere for the wide receiver to go after he made the catch great coverage on the play [Applause] run short of the line of scrimmage the defensive lineman's got the kind of size and strength where he can disrupt the play all by himself they come out on an empty Back Field drops back to pass throw him deep down the left line the defense got some pressure and forced a bad pass I think they've been a little bit more aggressive here with their pass rush and that time it paid off an incompletion [Applause] this one's going to be down in the end zone for a Touchback the offense couldn't hang on to the ball last time around let's see what happens here the first rule on offense is to take care of the football these guys need to remember that on this [Applause] drive nice run and he's brought down they gained five yards there up second and he's changing things up here's the halfback and he's brought down hard behind the line the defense just swarmed over that able to penetrate the offensive line and get to the running back before that play even had a chance the ball pops great the defense Scoops [Applause] it boy the end really CH some explosively staring news [Applause] they'll go to work at the 22 yd line we got a first and [Applause] 10 run the middle and nothing there that's a three- yd pickup three on the play that'll make second down seven y to go ball on the 19 yd line they've got a great scoring oportunity right now let's see if they make the most of [Applause] it gives it to the backat they go to the left for a nice gain five Ys it's third down and they're about two yds shy of the sticks they're crowding that line of scrimmage and he's tackled at the 11 yd line and they get it up for the first what's interesting about that short run on third down is now now they have the ability to go to playaction pass and stretch out this defense first down 10 to [Applause] go he looks to throw on first down now he scrambled that's man can't tack on any yardage he ran a good route and picked up positive yardage that he did and he made a good catch that passing game is where you see all those hours in the summer that you put in pay off and the endzone tou down that was a well drawn up play for the W they saw something upstairs it led to a touchdown you can think the play calling there very impressive [Music] [Applause] he splits the uprights with the extra point that score leads us to our Drive summary Michigan State kicked this one off [Music] from the 5 yd line and what a play by the kicker to take him down this offense lost the ball by way of a fumble the last time they had it so much in football is about how you respond to adversity moving forward after a turnover is a perfect example of that the halfback with a here he got a lot of Jersey on that play not too much argument about this call holding on the off these are the calls that drive a coach crazy senseless penalties can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing the [Applause] game so it's first down and an eternity there are five wide receivers glit out the quarterback in the gun he steps out at the 23 makes the ground on the play that'll make it second and home we're through one quarter and the score is Michigan State 14 Florida Atlantic 7 second and long coming up [Applause] here takes the ball inside gains his way to the 33 yd line this guy just made those 10 y look easy [Applause] ball is loose fumble the defense almost got a gift on that play they were attacking the ball very hard on that play and the running back just made a mistake he lost the [Applause] football he really got a hold of that one t made at the 19 great punt great tackle that's exactly what these guys were looking for out of their special teams the putter here does a great job and the coverage was exceptional they got down the field and didn't give the return any room to make a move takes it right and brought down right away three yards there on the play it's a good call here by the defense they were able to get some good penetration on the run blitz and kept the gain pretty minimal [Applause] straight run nothing going on there a one yd gain by the halfback it's third down and five to go ball on their own 23 Michigan State up seven [Applause] points fires right side got his T back and they make the stop at about the 3 every offense needs to have at least one B who can make something happen in the passing especially offenses that run a lot of screen plays you can really gain the upper hand on a defense when you can utilize him like we just saw first down 10 to go ball on the 35 yd line they'll line up with five wide receivers he looks to throw on first down finds his receiver who's all alone looks like the defense played the r that time with this offense you've got to be ready for a pass on any down in any [Applause] situation first and 10 ball on their own 48 Michigan state is up by a [Applause] touchdown hand off to the left and he t him hard at the 40 yd line they've got a solid drive going here I know it's not going to mean that much without putting some points up on the [Applause] board it's first and 10 ball on the 40 yd line play action the 10 big yardage on the catch and he's immediately pushed out of bounds what a great play this is the timing that we talked about the pregame that they must have in order to be successful with their passing game that time the quarterback threw it to a spot and his receiver was there to make a nice grab and it's first down eight yds from The End Zone their last trip down here was a success let's see if this one will result in another touchdown runs it and tackled in the back field two yd loss that's a Los of two y it's second and goal this is the eighth play of this [Applause] drive they hand it off again tackled after a decent run up the gut oh the old draw play gets him good seven yds that makes it thir and [Music] go they're crowding that line of [Applause] scrimmage run forward and hit hard right there it's the goal line he just never had a chance to get any running the defense was on him almost as soon as the ball was snapped and he's got it [Applause] and it looks like they're ready for the kickoff taken at the five makes it to the 22 yd line here comes the offense no doubt looking to take better care of the ball on this drive you don't change your philosophy after one play they'll be out doing the same thing as before just with better awareness gives it to and he's tackled at the 25 yd line that'll be a gain of three yds that'll make it second they come out on an empty Back Field they're calling an audible drops back to pass he goes down doesn't get there and they just couldn't connect there on the long ball well that's when the quarterback wants back he just had a little too much on that pass third down seven yds to [Applause] go they run it for the first of these stops the offense couldn't get anything going that time no they couldn't they looked out of s there and they're going to have to make some adjustments to come back next time [Applause] out and he's taken down at the 38 three points was the result of their last drive as the offense heads out for another that was great offensive production everything really came together for them on that last Drive and down he goes the 47 yd line they go with a run and that'll be a gain of nine that brings up second and one short yardage situation here it's second down and [Applause] one makes the ball inside tackled after decent pick up they'll get a first down there on the play with the tail back that shows you why he's such a weapon as a ball carrier good game for the [Applause] [Music] offense from the 47 yd line first down here's the halfback they go to the left for a nice game about 6 yds on the play y from the 41 yd line it's second down play fake fires incomplete so it's third down now and they're going to need about four the third down catches it and he's looking for more it's a fumble the defense Scoops it out good hustle there by the KN it's often an overused term when referring to defensive lineman but that's what they mean when they talk about a guy has a motor that's running he never quit and he played to the [Applause] wizard some one down there just a little bit slow to get up so the question on this one is whether or not the ball carrier's knee hit the ground before the fumble pop [Applause] loose so the booth and the referee agree they're run R's knee was down that was still a close call though Brad even though he was down this guy has to do a better job of holding that football's out to his wide out what a play that is first and goal when you can move the ball downfield in big chunks like that you've got the defense right where you want Michigan state looks to take a commanding three-score lead here they're in the Red Zone again but this time they should be thinking touchdown they keep it on the ground with a tail back tackled after he pick up five yds that's good for that brings up a second and fall in the five he's pushed out of bounds outside the goal line good work here by the defense to keep from making something more out of that TOS out he's in that was a very good allaround eff running blocking the entire package a well deserve [Applause] score and he hits the p8 let's take a at the drive summary [Applause] [Applause] Michigan State kick this one [Applause] off he'll take it from the two and he makes it out to about the 24 yd line their last Drive resulted in a punt so let's see if they can put together something a little more promising here empty backfield quarterback in the gun five wide receivers back to pass caught open field he goes down at the 35 that makes it [Music] and he's tackled around 16 yd line that completion gives him yd for the first half I'll tell you what this guy has so much fun to watch when he gets into a rhythm like this they come out of an empty Back Field they're changing the play he drops back wait what a play and that is first and goal recep they put everyone up on the line tackle at the one yd line he picks up a yard at best on the toss that brings up second and goal they're crowding that line of scrimmage trying to change the [Applause] play gun in air touchdown and so he found his receiver for the score and the closer you get to the end zone the more difficult it becomes to throw the football because the field becomes much smaller to work with they did a very nice job there to come up with the touchdown and he TS on the extra point and now we take a look at the drive summary [Applause] Atlantic the [Music] [Applause] kick he makes it to the 15 yd line well they got the result you always want on the last Drive let's see if what happens again lets it Go the pass Falls incomplete number three was the intended receiver from their own 15 yd line Second [Applause] down they're going to pitch it tackle made at about the 27 yd line when you're running the ball for big chunks of yards like that you got something working [Applause] it's first and 10 ball on the 27 yd [Applause] line drops back to pass gets it to his tight end for a first down and he's tackled at the 45 yd line that's just great call by the coordinator there going to the air on first [Applause] down first down 10 to ball on the 45 yd line fires incomplete was looking for the tight end over threw his man but boy did he have some heat on it he just needs to put a little bit more touch on that pass makes the catch and look out they'll bring him down the 37 yd line about eight yards there that'll bring up [Applause] 32 third down two to go ball on the [Applause] 37 he's got his man across the middle that completion gives him 200 yd for the first half so far this off has been pretty eff by throwing the [Applause] footb we've got a first and 10 ball on the 18 in the Red Zone again let's see if it'll be another touchdown they're going to pitch it tackle at the 19 yd line the defense needs to be careful safety might have made that play but if he keeps coming up on the Run he'll be spaced downfield for the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] pass pitch out he's tackled around the 17 yd line the halfback gets the toss and picks up two that'll make it third and n [Applause] looking to throw and it's knocked down I love to see a confident quarterback but you don't want to just go back there and put Blind Faith into your throws you need a little bit more time to evaluate the coverage before you release the football and the field goal is good [Applause] the kicker looks like he's ready to kick this one [Music] [Applause] off taken at the five he makes it to the 25 yd line I'm sure that touchdown and their last possessions given them some confidence but let's see if that carries them back down the field and even though these guys are losing they showed in their last drive that they can score and they need to continue to be productive with this stri he looks to throw on first down he hauls it in to the 20 he goes down at the 10 yd [Music] line another trip to the red last time it resulted in a touchdown [Applause] throws to the fullback they can't hook up incomplete number 83 from the 10 yd line it's second down he drops back Looks To the End Zone incomplete number three was intended receiver on the play they'll be looking for the End Zone here third and goal from the n looks to pass throw End Zone knocked away the safety got in there at the last minute well that's a great job of preventing the score here he got in great position and made a big time play on the ball they'll line up for the field goal and this is nothing more than a chip shot this one is from 27 yd away and he got it k [Applause] the kicker looks like he's ready to kick this one [Applause] off he's to the 10 he makes it out to maybe the 20 yd line come back out with some Confidence from having put through the field goal last time they'll go to work at the 20 first down 10 yds to [Applause] go they'll give it off here he's GBL up in the back field a good tackling safety is key for any defense if they can diagnose a play like this guy can he can be a real Menace the ball is loose and there's the lucky break that this team has been looking for they need to get the momentum on their side and really take advantage of this mistake now let's see if they capitalize they'll start this drive at the 19 yd line it's first and [Applause] 10 makes a hand off and stopped IM [Applause] mediate play that brings up second and N try to change the play he drops back it's complete touchdown FL that make it three passes for touchdowns well the quarterback's going to get a lot of credit but I think the thing that has helped him the most back there is the protection by the offensive line he had plenty of time to make decisions back there in the pocket here's the extra point to get within a [Applause] Fu he makes the pat and now we're going to take a look at the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Drive Florida Atlantic lines up for the kickoff taken at the five he gets out to about the 22 yd line the offense comes back out and as I'm sure you'll remember their last possession ended in a lost fumble anytime you give the ball away it's a dis disappointment so these guys want to show that they can hang on to it to the right and tackled immediately he got what he could and it wasn't much this run was disrupted by the blitz of the middle [Applause] linebacker Michigan state is up by three throwing right it's pick [Applause] offall tackle made to thir Y Line it's a good play when a corner can break up a pass but it's even better when he can bring it in for an [Applause] interception from the 33 yd line first down [Applause] quick row and he's taken down around the 12 yd line yeah the defense looked a little sluggish there they can do better than that the last time they were in the Red Zone they got a touchdown out of it drops back on first down the pass inom number second down 10 yards to go ball on the 12 yd line [Applause] Let It Go and it's caught for the touchdown what a half he's had with four scoring tosses the defense better wake up pretty soon before it gets real he splits the upright extra point but here's the drive summary to recap what just happened the kicker looks like he's ready to kick this one [Music] off he'll take it from the two he makes it out to maybe the 16 yd line and here comes the offense and You' got to wonder if that last interception is Weighing on the quarterback's mind at all this quarterback can make good passes he just needs to focus on not forcing the ball to his receivers he drops back it's complete drop down the 27 yd line he showed some excellent moves out there KN you usually expect from a tight end that was a big gain and this offense keeps huming along [Applause] first and 10 ball on their own [Applause] 27 straight in the middle and he meets the defense they'll get two on that they sent the middle linebacker here on a blitz and he was pretty much untouched getting in there to make the stop [Applause] they'll run the option he's taken down at the 30 a yard that on the quarterback keeper from their own 30 yd line third [Applause] down and with the Run nice run there that's four yds on the play that's good for a gain of four y it's Fourth Down looks like they're going to putt it away [Applause] here they get this one off and it's a beauty tackle made at the 23 and he didn't get anything on that return well the coverage team did an outstanding job at containing here you always see this with this team they're very disciplined on special [Applause] teams they'll throw on first down they'll bring him down at the 30 yd line Mak the catch number 43 bring him down Florida Atlantic is up by bring up second and [Applause] three and a quick throw and he's hit before he can go anywhere [Applause] first here's the give and make the stop at the 43 yd line super effort by the tail back to pick up a nice gain first down he's really a good looking Ball Carrier trying to change the play slings it out there incomplete and he misses his wide receiver there yeah you're right this is an area that he's worked so hard to improve since day one the accuracy of his throws he's improved but as you can see he's upset here with himself they TRW the right side and they'll bring him out behind the line for Atlantic is up four looking to throw here comes the pressure here's another pass to tight him and he's got it the defense didn't stop the pass if they stopped him short of the sticks that's the important thing here allow him to make the catch field there still our score Florida Atlantic 31 Michigan State 27 they'll start at the 38 yd line they count in a five wide set pulls down catch and he's got room here T at the 42 yd line the offense calls a timeout they'll throw on first down he's on the Run just throws this one away from the 42 yd line it's second [Applause] down he's looking to pass wide receiver screen right he's tackled in the open field it's third down and two to go ball on the 34 yd line caught and that's a first down and they'll go with a no huddle kicker got him three points in that last Red Zone visit let's see if they can come away with six a time and that defense is getting a little excited Down Still first down good situation for the offense here now as they have first and [Applause] five first down going to throw throws it watch out oh almost had a pick he tried to force it to a man that wasn't open and boy was he lucky it wasn't picked off he's got to be more careful when throwing the football into the end zone back to pass caught out of the open and he's tackled at the five [Applause] makes poop back to pass heavy pressure and he throws it to the [Applause] defense this is just one of the throws that a quarterback should never make trying to force it into the end zone if there's any doubt throw it through the U but don't kill the [Applause] drive go from their own 17 yd line it's first down Florida Atlantic holds a four-point [Applause] lead inside hand off he's still moving they'll bring him down at the 27 there's been no lack of scoring here as we've reached halftime the score Florida Atlantic 31 Michigan State 27 come on now come on what are you doing what are you [Applause] doing number Mig state is set to kick this ball off to start the second half he'll return it from the three line a pickup of about three y from their own 37 yd line third [Applause] down they keep it on the ground and a great tackle right there it's a good surge by the defense they really disrupted the timing on that play and gave them no chance to get the first he really got a hold it one he makes it out to maybe the 30 yd line he did a good job there to give his team decent field position they'll spread the field with five wide drops back on first down oh c ons incomplete number 13t so it's second and 10 that makes it second and 10 [Applause] got hit and still completed it and he's taken down at the 31 nice touch on that throw screen can be tricky to because you're actually allowing the defense to come right at you as a quarterback and that's what you want one miss block and it could easily result in Lost yardage he's tackle around the 50 yd line great job by the running back and that's a gain of nine bring up second and one [Applause] as the fullback open and he [Applause] dropped short yardage situation here it's third one they'll throw for the first he's under pressure that close to being intercepted nice job getting a hand on that one yeah really good heads up play there to get a hand on the football by the defense and they'll down it at the four now that's how it's done how many times do we see punters boot it too far and it goes into the end zone for a Touchback this time he put it up perfectly to pin him deep straight run here and he's nowhere to go think about the speed and instincts it takes for a linebacker to get from his position into the back through the air this young man really works at it and it's always a boost to see that hard work reflected in the Box Score he should be very pleased now it's first and 10 with a defense trying to regroup after giving up the big [Applause] pass he's under some heat good job here by the defense if you let this quarterback set and throw he'll kill you all game but they got excellent pressure on that play [Music] here's the handoff and he's taken down for a loss that play was over before it got started that was just a case of the offensive line getting beat at the snap of the [Applause] left gets it out left back huge play and it's going to be first and oh everybody was fooled on that was a good job here by the quarterback that could have play fake as a real weapon against an aggressive defense like [Applause] this it's first down and they'll be looking for six point here they're in the red zone so this quarterback better be smart last time he threw a pick down here and he hits him hard the six counter play good for about a yard 10th play of the drive it's second down they're crowding that scrimmage setting up play action they bring him down on the back field three yd loss there really they just had nowhere to go after the catch that makes it third and [Music] goal it's the 11th play of the drive five wide drops back to pass so he find his Man In The End Zone but he's unable to connect and he was under a lot of heat there the defense did well to contration into the back field and force the incompletion not a lot of success on that K the kicker just cannot hang his head after that Miss I know he should have made it but they may need him a little bit later on and he needs to be ready and confident when that happens the off will start at the 20 they hand it off he makes his way out to about the 35 just a simple draw play there but they picked up some big yards they're changing the play they'll go with the Run once again and he carries the ball for a nice gain 6yd pickup y that'll make it second and four [Applause] complete and he's brought down pretty cool back there even with the outside linebacker blitzing he made an accurate throw and the result is a new set of down looking to throw out of bounds the 47 yd line three maybe four yards on the pass you know little passes like this Force the defense to start to come up then you can see an offense take their chances down field later to take advantage of the defense starting to cheat up gives it off and he's tackled at the 38 and that's their third first down of the drive the defense needs to figure out a way to stop them or else they're going have no problem putting points on the board run it tackled the Back Field never really had a shot they were on him almost as soon as he took the nowhere I don't even think the quarterback knew he was [Applause] blitzing it's fourth down here comes the hter looking to boot this one away so this one goes into the end zone and that'll be a Touchback a missed field goal was the result of the last drive we'll have to see if they can come through with something this possession anytime you have a shot at putting points on the board and you don't get it you get a little frustrated but this offense is very capable of scoring at any time catches it they'll bring him down at the 24 if you see how he looked that ball into his hands that's how you catch a football hand off and he's met immediately so at the most he gains a few inches that'll make it [Applause] 35 they go to the ground and these up short they'll be short of the first down after that unsuccessful running play nice job here by the defense of holding firm and forcing a fourth down makes it to maybe the 40 yd line they were forced to punt the ball away the last time they had it they'll be looking for a little more out of their offense on this [Applause] possession they hand it off gains his way to the 49 yd line [Music] that makes it first down takes the ball inside after decent pick up they pick up a good six yards there that'll bring up second and three he may have changed things up here what a collision did you see how that big defensive line got such a good push on that play that's exactly why they were able to stop him for loss [Applause] looking for the corner and he shoved out of bound at about the 39 yd line make catch but just not enough for the first going to come up a little bit short here nice job by the defense of preventing this completion from turning into a first down and hits the crossbar and bounces through he barely snuck that over the crossbar but chalk it up another three points yep he literally didn't have more than a foot to spare but this offense will take points any way they can get [Music] him Lord Atlantic ready to kick this one off taken from the three yd line he makes it out to maybe the 23 yd line defense really shut these guys down the last time they had the ball there are five wide receivers split out the quarterback in the gun hand off to the right tackle made around the 24 yd line it looks like they picked up a yard or a little less that brings up second and look at the throw he's under some heat the down the defense was expecting the pass and they defended the play very well in the secondary he wasn't breaking that tackle what a hit you hope that a lane or two will open up and give you some space to work with but that never happened on this kick Florida Atlantic is up a [Music] score drops back to pass he scrambled first down grab that last catch gives him 100 yds receiving if you can get open and hold on to the passes chances are you're going to have a good game and that's exactly what this guy's been able to do today he drops back going for it all to the end zone the offense took an errand shot into the end zone and I'll tell you what that one should have been picked off yeah I'm sure he's going to hear all about that from his teammates when he comes over to the sidelines looking down find his receiver touchdown what more we say about this guy five touchdowns on the day he's gotten great blocking up front the entire game and his receivers are making plays so I don't just give credit to the quarterback but this entire offense for getting things [Applause] done he makes the Pat and here's our Drive summary [Applause] Atlantic is lining up to kick this one off he just drills this [Applause] one and he's taken down at the 14 the offense takes the field again they were forced to punt their last timeout down two possessions this offense has to step up and capitalize on this [Applause] possession pulls it in and he's in the open Field's taken down at the 35 this receiver show s hands and hung on for the first down and if I'm not mistaken the defense send their corner on a blitz if he doesn't get to the quarterback the numbers are in favor of the offense just like we saw [Applause] it's first and 10 ball on their own 35 hands off left and he's down quickly the halfback gets a couple there on the counter second and eight coming up here ball in the [Applause] 37 nice run and he's brought down they get five yds on the y they need about three yds to get the first down here on third [Applause] down and this one's broken up it's always big when you can get in the way of a pass on third down because you know the offense is bringing it booming kick he's to the 20 brought down at the 23 not much of a problem getting the ball in the end zone on their last drive as this quarterback just picked apart the defense and you know what they can really do is take this soldout crowd out of the game if they score again tackle in a hurry picks up a yard and that was the Freshman linebacker who was right there at the play try to change the play gets it he space across Midfield he goes down 48 yd line he stood in there that time against the blitz they were coming after him but he showed the P was able to connect for a big game [Applause] run it tackled the Back Zone on their last possession but the offense did pick up [Applause] three fakes to the back there's a strike complete he's down with the reception number 43 makes the tackle at the 40 yd line that makes it second and six he's changing things [Applause] up now they run it left and a nice tackle right there [Applause] B it away these guys were ready for the pass and played it well to come up with allow the big play looking to throw down at the 25 so they pick up quite a few yards on that play Kirk well that was an excellent route and he did a great job of holding on to the football they'll spread the field with five wide good time to bring the pressure yeah I like it because even if you can't come up with a sack just let the quarterback know you're coming and make him feel feel your presence sometimes that's just as effective as a [Applause] sack and they get nice yard got to admire the effort to make sure he got every last he needed to pick up the first [Applause] down from their own 30 yd line first down [Applause] and they make the stop at the 30 it looks like they picked up a yard or a little less that brings up second and n and that'll bring this quarter to an end he's looking to pass the defense Scoops it up and this could be a big return he's all the way home touch down defensive touchdowns give team such a big morale this was a really nice play to grab the take it plon waa he just took a lick it this offense has got to try to pull it all together now after the F cost them six points just moments ago I know as a quarterback it's always hard to watch the defense score a touchdown on you but it was always a reminder to take extra care of the football they'll throw on first down the 50 he goes down at the 46 yd line he's been very impressive throwing for 400 yd the guy has done a great job moving the sticks all day long he's a really good player yeah it sure has been easy to compliment this kid today he's had a great game great for by the wide receiver and not to take anything away from the quarterback but the wide receiver made this play it was a tech B post round and the pass was right on target so the offense will stay on the field and attempt the two-point [Applause] conversion CAU it and the conversion is good that score leads us to our Drive summary [Applause] and it looks like they're ready for the kickoff taken from the three yd line makes it to the 22 yd line so now both teams come droing back onto the field the half back with the carry he's tackled at the 25 a pickup of about three that'll make it second to seven they're changing the play a misdirection picked up by the linebacker got the corner he lost all if they're going to get back into this game these are the kind of plays that they have to make maybe this will play stopped that run short of the stick so this one goes into the end zone and that'll be a Touchback the quarterback threw an interception on their last Drive let's see if they can be more successful here and I don't think this defense will lay down lightly they're going to try to continue to Rattle this guy first down looking to throw out it oh he's H hard for a loss three of loss there pretty good stand there they weren't fooled At All by the offensive play [Applause] call Second and 13 coming up here ball on their own [Music] 17 now they run it left and a nice tackle right there maybe a few but that's it third and 11 here ball on the 19 [Applause] that's a great tackle at the 12 yd line and they get a nice defensive Play here's a play you don't see very often that time they brought pressure from the corner position and the line couldn't pick him up and he was able to wrap the quarterback up for a sack that's a good defensive call [Applause] fourth down they come out a throw and it's almost picked you like a team that's ready to defend the pass it takes preparation to get in the way of a pass like that back to pass and he's tackled right away number 30 makes the wanted to put a lot of pressure on this quarterback they sure stuck to that plan so the sack makes this a second and [Applause] long he's looking to pass he gets rid of it and it's going the other way and he's tackled at the 39 the linebacker here does a good job with his instincts and giving the path to the receiver boy what a great play [Applause] first and 10 ball on the [Applause] 39 first down looking to throw brought down in the open field that's a great job by both the quarterback and the receiver quarterback made a great read and throw and the receiver split his own coverage with the beautiful post round done from the 15 yd line it's first down they're in the Red Zone but that doesn't necessarily mean points last time they got intercepted gives it off they'll knock him down for a quarterback got into a nice Rhythm did a good job of picking apart to Def and it's knocked away this just shows you that you don't need to be attacking the quarterback to disrupt the [Applause] passing runs it right and can't get away nice tackle they pick up two yards we've got third and eight ball on the [Applause] 20 drops back to pass going long he's got it he's tackled at the 31 that's a good looking throwing pitch obviously the defense is going to have to give them some room but they're not going to give up the big play he looks to throw on first down tries to set up a screen for the wide receiver they'll bring him down the 19 yd line another catch and he's up to 100 yds now you got to love this quarterback receiver combo look at these guys before the game they told me they spend about an hour after every practice perfecting the routes it sure shows first down 10 to go ball in the 19 their last Red Zone trip resulted in a touchdown I don't expect this one to be any different they'll throw on first down away that's a phenomenal job to read the route and get a good break on the ball smart defense that makes it second and [Applause] 10 feeds it to the back big play and it's first and go he gets another set of downs and more importantly opens up a whole host of play calling possibilities for the coaching staff first and goal from the oneing to punch the one [Applause] in puts it right in his hands touchdown he's ringing up the points with all these touchdown throws that's his fourth well he's shown such great boys back there in the pocket that's the main reason he's been able to find the so many [Applause] and he converts the extra point and now we take a look at the drive [Applause] summary Michigan State finds up for the [Applause] kickoff sends it sailing down field tackle at the 21 yd line just about ready to call the first play of this drive they were able to pick up a field goal on their last possession on the ground with a t back and down he goes around the 34 yd line very welld designed play that time to give them a first down lineman executed their box nicely and it went for a good game he drops back he wants it all in and out of his hands number 24 was the intended receiver second down 10 to go makes it second and 10's the run right he's got nowhere to go there's a player injured but it looks like it's just stand third and 12 third and 12 ball on their own [Applause] 33 finds his receiver and that's a first down and they tackle him at the 39 the receiver found a hole in the zone and turn it into a first down no matter what type of defensive coverage you have they're always going to be holes the best thing you can do is make those those holes small but the quarterback can't get the ball in [Applause] there we got a first and 10 ball on the 39 yd [Applause] line and they get nice yardage on that run about four y on that play y second down and six B the 35 I don't think they'll have time to get this play off runs left
