Hiking the Lower Macleay Trail to the Witch’s Castle | Forest Park in Portland, Oregon

today we've come over here down to Portland Oregon to check out uh lower mlay park I think it's called I think this is part of the Forest Park so it does take you to the witch's castle which we did about a year and a half ago but this time we're starting from the lower lot I think the last time we did it from the top but anyway we're going to go into the Forest Park here in the lower mcleay entrance and we start off here in this neighborhood this Portland neighborhood really nice really peaceful right now but you can see the the entrance right there is Forest Park up ahead look at this Bridge that's S I guess you could walk on it there's people walking here on this bridge there's some stairs right there and I think the park starts right ahead this really cool there's a bunch of dogs right now right here wow all right we're starting our walk here into Forest Park from the lower mlay entrance look at these things here those structures so this is the lower mlay Trail some history from that some information and then it's part of the Forest Park Forest Park is one of the biggest Parks here in uh Oregon probably the biggest honestly it's huge featuring over 80 mil of trails all right let's continue this the last time we came when we started from the top it was a very beautiful Trail so I'm kind of excited to go the other way and start from the bottom to the top and see what we didn't see last time and today is kind of like a beautiful day to go hiking because it's overcast so it's very Lush and green and it was raining a little bit ago so I love going hikes on Hikes like this because it's very like you know not too hot the sun is not completely beaming through it's just like perfect wow coming up in a little Bridge could hear a little creek a little bit more it's beautiful I would say the last time we were here there's definitely way more water I think last time we came was like early March 2023 or February one of those month and there's a lot more water and this one's a little bit of water now you can hardly hear it maybe more up here we'll hear the water a little bit more is like the most the biggest the best wild starting to climb a little bit little [Applause] uphill let's make our plan how okay and I will get every [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] are you coming for that [Applause] cut up huh finally cut up than [Applause] what we are arriving here at the witch's castle here it is [Music] let's check it out up here and there's all all sorts of graffiti on the walls and stuff it's really cool look at this room I why I do that up there I was like why are you all right so that was the witch's castle back there and we're still going and this is the part of the trail that we did last time we were here so we started from up there came down and then came came this way but this time we started from the opposite side and it came up this way so there's a bridge up here that we want to see want to check out it's really nice so and there's like a little creek under that so want to check that out [Applause] this it's starting to rain down a little bit over here and uh if you're in the trail you're pretty much shaded so you don't really feel the rain but when you're out here in the open you start feeling it's coming down pretty good so let's start making our way back we're going to start making our way back now I think that's where I'm going to end this Vlog guys we're just going to head back and probably go back home but hope you guys enjoyed this little hike that we did here at for for Park in Portland Oregon more specifically the lower mlay Park Trail I think it's called and we came all the way almost to the upper mlay Trail so we saw The Witches Castle and did all that so thank you guys so much for watching and I'll catch you guys on the next one peace
