Maya Rudolph, a former Saturday Night Live (SNL)
alum, is returning to the stage for her third time hosting the show. In a promo for this week's show,
Rudolph is seen walking through 30 Rock when she hears strange laughter coming from a closet door.
She shares that she has been there since 2007 when she ended her tenure at SNL. Rudolph served as
a full-time cast member between 2000 and 2007, and previously hosted the sketch show in 2012 and
2021. She explains that she never left the show, as she had everything she needed there, including
her books, porridge, and her friend Kenny. Rudolph is reminded that she will be hosting this week and
asks if they could close the door to freshen up. As soon as they do, Rudolph reappears outside,
dressed up and ready to take on her SNL hosting duties. She will host SNL's season 49 finale
with musical guest Sabrina Carpenter on May 18.
