2024 Bingo Boys Disc Golf Tour Championship

[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] welcome in to the third annual Bingo boys Disc Golf Championship we are here in the final weeks of summer we are back the defending champ is here and a new face is here that is right we going to get a chance to talk to both of them let's start the pregame interviews and we'll start with the defending Champion Gavin bolt hello Nathan hello Gavin I'm here with the two-time defending champ Gavin bolt another excellent Seas finishing at top the standings how does it feel to look to be the three-time defending Champion I mean I expect to get to this point uh I would have been disappointment if uh someone would have missed like the third one in a row I don't know how you would miss it after the first two years but uh yeah uh expected to be here glad I got the first position that's nice but hopefully I'm only going to need nine rounds or nine holes to finish the round yeah he kind of mentioned it we'll touch on it again if Gavin wins the first nine holes it's over it's done but if the second Place finisher takes it through nine holes and has the lead we do another nine but what's it going to take to get it done in the first nine holes what are you looking to do what's the plan what's the focus um no OB it's going to have no OB hopefully um just play the same shots I do on every hole think one one throw at a time and uh hopefully nail some good putts now we know in the off season before the summer league has begun you've been with the Michigan disc golf team how's that helped you prepare for this season uh it's it's good to get some high stakes playing in not as high stakes as the Bingo boys championship of course this is a this as high as it gets World Championships is happening right now uh they're all kicking themselves that they're not here um and yeah it's just good good practice for this moment well good luck today hopefully you'll be walking away with the threee never before done done never before done good luck good luck that was Gavin bolt and now we bring in the new face to the championship round it's the underdog Jacob vamun the former cameraman turned second place finisher this year ad so Jacob you overcome the third place drought you finished third place the first two years now you're here in the championship round second place what did it take this off season to get here yeah uh it feels great I was able to beat out Brady uh he kind of fell off a cliff and I won like eight in a row against him so it's been good and we're going to try to get a win here against the two-time defending champ BR do you ever rebuttal to this any comments behind the camera okay he's shaking his head now so obviously you're coming against the two-time defending champ it's very similar to a Kansas Chiefs type of situation what's it going to take to get it done today in 18 rounds yeah Gavin's a good opponent that's why he's uh want it every time and uh he doesn't make errors so I'm definitely going to have to avoid the OB and make my putts and hopefully I'll give me a chance yeah and you you actually won one of the courses the short course this year how how did you manage to manage and work through that yeah I mean it's a pretty short course and I knew I was going to take top two CU br's not in good anymore and Gavin had a little bit of a rough round I was able to take it from him well any other final comments for the fans back home for the underdog Jacob vunte let's go shock the world you heard it here first he's looking to shock the world and we're about to find out we're going to Ho one next before we get to Ho one we're actually going to talk from the third place finisher this year and cameraman this year Brady swike Brady what happened this year um I've been battling a wrist injury All Season really been holding me back and kept me from the top two this year who's your prediction does Gavin get it done in nine does it take 18 does Gavin still get it done or is this a jvb shocks the world breaks the two-time champion well I mean Jacob's not any good so it should be an easy win for Gavin four or five stroke win on the round probably now what what does Gavin have to do to get it done what does he have to do to win I mean just get a couple birdies and he should be fine what does Jacob have to do to win then I don't think there's a possibility of that happening so some brutal smack talk here from the third place finisher if you do the math I did finish fourth again but nonetheless let's get to Hole one well we're here at hole one it's a par five per usual 600 ft and of course the two-time defending champ looking to be three-time defending champ guys Gavin bolt will start on the te well there is a car so we will have a brief intermission the car has passed the break is over here we go ho one with Gavin bolt at the T and the first throw a little bit underwhelming but it's going to loop around the tree and it's going to be right in the Fairway all right back here at hole one now Jacob Vander is going to have to find a way to respond Gavin a great spot to put him in a good position for Eagle can Jacob find the keep Pace ball that's a good line if it dips around the pine tree otherwise L ball oh that's that's some Shrubbery that could be an OB I'm the first shot I'm the first shot all right let's get let's get a closer look at this Jacob's going to start OB with the leg ball I think it's if I were to guess oh gosh maybe not looking oh oh good positioning he's on he's on the end he's on the thick of it but he's in bounds he's got the plants to his back plants to the wall throws and oh the shrub just sent him kening wide right oh no I think he's in bounds but he's on the wrong side of the water it's a rough start that that is a rough start thread the needle he could get up and down for an eagle and that's going to look nice it's got a little bit of turn to it but it should be in bounds and he'll have an okay look at an eagle shot so we're heading to the other side of the pond if you will not over to Europe but just to the basket side we'll have the uh the the rookie to the championship take his first look at the basket good depth on it and that'll be an easy partk that'll be a good look for birdie a good start from the rookie despite some struggles early we'll see if Gavin can respond it's got some good air a little too far wide but that'll be an easy birdie putt for the champ yeah you can you got Rec you got to record me for p POV slam cam we're here with the PV slam Cam and the cameraman slams it home what an a turn of events on the other side Gavin puts it in for birdie we're going to go one under through the first hole good start on both sides I'm having a really fun time look at that baby turtle baby turtle baby turtle baby turtle remember that is team Nathan's mascot the turtle slow and steady wins the race just give me five years and maybe eventually I'll be in the championship and an okay start here on hole number two 415 ft as the champion gets us going part four and now Jacob's going to look to respond maybe a little too early on the corner we'll see if Jacob can adjust that's got a good line as long as it can stay in front of the trees which it does he's going to have a good look at birdie here to start is there's the champ he is a little early on the corner so he's going to have to navigate the brush but also watch out for muskrat Creek couple muskrat family living in there don't want to disturb them those are some feisty Critters plants the right foot in front of the mini disc deep heave around the corner it's got a good look bounces off the tree good Skip and it's going to be a good look for birdie here a good adjustment from the champ to get around the corner now let's take a look Jacob's got a straight line at the basket so a much better look here on hole number two for him he's at least got to match it can't make any mistakes here mus muskrat Creek to his right and the unknown Woods to his left he's got a good line on the approach shot just going to dip off short to the left though but still a good shot keeps both of them on on the same track great tap in for the champ he's he pushes the card forward to under see what the Underdog's got and the cameraman former cameraman punches it in we stick and now two under through two so we're here at hole number three par 4 550 ft Gavin once again has the both to under we've got finders field to our right with I can tell you that has not been cleared up in quite some time the first shot off the T good line it's going to have a great dip back into the Fairway definitely not going to need to go find that good start here on a difficult hole to birdie so no Jacob's going to have to find the response off the teapad this is a hole that he's kind of struggled on in his career no you're right throw off it's got a little wobble off the teapad and that's got a lot of Hiser coming down we're going to have to go find that but it should be still in bounds oh I'm dizy wait a minute I thought there was more to it run up to it where is it [Applause] oh no oh no we're in we're in oh oh my gosh he is in by the skin of his disc yeah okay by a corner almost a terrible mistake from Jacob without he going to go for the run up he's getting his feet under him good throw off the teapad it's got a lot of air though but it's got a good turn he's just on the slope of the Hill a good throw Gavin's lines have been all good today he's hitting the spots that one didn't hit as well he's going into the Shrubbery oh no it's some frustration from the champ commentator with the nice find here what I do best disc finder 101 buried in the brush you guys to explain inbound uh this is inbounds the line Begins the trees over to this way into the farmer side of the course throw out of the shrubs it's going to land on the hill so a good look here for the champion you got to take advantage of the early mistakes you don't see them often from Gavin so when they happen you've got to find Advantage spots for birdie and Jacobs mastered the hole he has not been able to conquer in the tour he takes an early lead and Gavin's going to respond with a par a lead for the underdog short T here for the fourth hole on the course par three 197 ft this is a spot where Jacob can look to push his lead if there were a mistake on the other side he's got a one stroke lead he's got the T for the first time there's the throw that's deep into the night and wide left and into the find him field Kevin going to look to rename the stroke here good turn on the disc it's got good cut over the head of the basket but it'll be a good look for birdie he's got a chance to even things back up yes it's stable okay we're here with the cameraman versus commentator battle we have switch rolls for uh one hole they'll be throwing this nice short part 3 197 ft to give Nathan a chance starts it up nice and wide it's high it might contend with that tree not a bad shot I'd say about 25 ft short left I can make something work here he can make something work here guys we can see my first win in something on the tour that is true he's gotten fourth place I think every time oh third place once third place once he's going for this win on this hole today he threw his glasses almost as far as he threw the disc I'll take that what was that that was my watch his way through his watch he watch power I could see the basket I got this got to go a little bit above the trees I didn't hear the chains but I think it went in Okay C closer camera okay this is the only shot that could be not in and he makes it uh they both get par I think they just tie uh TP on the I'll I'll Crown the champion I'll Crown the champion the champion of the cameraman versus commentator battle this year is the person who has was closest on the second shot is Nathan here we are Jacob's comment not ideal of a second shot he's got throw at the the weeds oh no the throw was left way too high it'll even be a tester of a par look Gavin chance to even things up and he does an ex an excellent up and down shot from the two-time defending champ and he's even things up unless catastrophe strikes here for the rookie the former cameraman gently lays down his mini disc nice shot to save par but we're all even again how about that how do you feel after that round I mean it was a tie so and and the rule of being closer after the second shot was not stated until after it happened oh yeah you got to break a tiebreaker I'd like to thank all my fans who were uh keeping with me these couple of years I know it's been a struggle but we finally won something and uh we're going to be back next year you know we take it one win at a time next year we're going to cave shrimp favorite at number four going to shock the world um you put them there I know now with the tad back the champ threads the needle he's got a good good run and that's going to be a good shot and a chance for birdie how it becomes can Jacob respond we saw his first shot on the whole last season and the cameraman vers broadcaster first annual go around I believe he did catch a win on a technicality of going out of bounds by the commentator I did aceis whole a couple weeks ago so allegedly allegedly allegedly yeah he did it was a forehand oh well got to have a good response he threads the other gap in the high Shrubbery a big skip might send him with the wood Chucks like always the ground screw is doing a really good job out here at the course it's my boy FR your boyfriend oh my God boyfriend well we're going to take a look here is he swimming with the river roders and snapping turtles oh boy there it is on the other side it's in B it's inbounds on the other side of the creek it did not skip that far you're ly what a saving throw let's see if he can save the shoes now leap and it's good throw up it bounces in and out what a travesty here from the kid Jacob vandun and now Gavin's got a chance to take the lead for the first time and he does Gavin takes a one-stroke lead back to back and he is back on top come on dude hey what's up champ hi so what's been going well for you today um not the third hole that sucked the first actually all three of the first three holes were pretty bad but uh coming back strong on the par 3s putt feels good the last few holes um going to flick a little forehand on this next toll hopefully get it close do you think Jacob's got a chance anymore now that you're in the lead yeah of course he's still had a chance he's only one back that's a big that's a big difference it is exactly it's almost already over it's it's almost already over he's down it could be the comeback of the century I think if I get a stroke on this hole it's it's pretty safe to be closed but whole 8 and N both have OB so anything can happen we'll make sure that happens but so uh we're going to walk and talk here you had a lead after whole three you were in control and then you par the next two what happened yeah missing that put on five was tough we got we've been flirting with ob a little bit few shots but we were inbounds there and I wasn't able to sink the Putt and that could uh end up being pretty costly yeah what what do you got to do here down the stretch to stay in this one and force the next nine holes just focus every shot don't think too far ahead and uh try not to let Gavin run away with this thing yeah and how do you feel about the cameraman the cameraman seems to be pretty against you how do you how do you battle the uh negativity from the fans here on the course we should fire him he's terrible okay so on to the next hole Par 3 240 ft it's a tough one it it is a little bit of testure cuz a mind melder some thing you're you're flirting with the pond to the right and then of course a couple people have hit that pesky light pole to the left I was try not to think about that the pesky pole an interesting throw off the teapad it caught a little bit of wind a Skip it's down the slant I'm hoping it stopped just a little bit but if not that's an OB water ball presented by water so Jacob now in the teapad Flames the disc out of his hand and there is no turn that one is for sure an OB Lake ball and you can see the frustration on his face that's my well get your waiters out fans because Jacob might be waiting in jaob how do you feel about that shot horrendous could not have been worse Jacob things are falling apart fast you've got to fix something if you want to force nine what's it going to take uh no comment at this time no comment at this time frustration Brewing here in the championship can Gavin pull away late oh we first take a look at where the two time Champs disc is we're in oh my gosh Gavin you're in oh my gosh wait a minute I can play there is no sign oh there is Gavin's disc there is water but he can play this he's going to get some soggy shoes oh it's fine it's actually solid oh it is solid he confirms NOP it's squishy right here so he is in the birdie shot off the front of the basket so he's going to look at a par and Jacob who again is survived out of bounds unbelievable this kid has flirted without of bounds on pretty much every hole on the course that's actually so true yeah but he continues to battle he's got a chance to either tie things up again or keep it at a on shot deficit the throw up almost hits the tree gets a bad roll keep on going going going down the hill and now it's going to be a tester for jaob Gavin with the basket slam can for par now Jacob's got to try to keep Pace this might be one of the biggest shots in the round and he sinks it so he stays one down with three more holes to go Theory times with Gavin um I think there's a little Gremlin that uh Brady employs to move his disc the current cameraman right now to move his disc on drives that I can't see I think he lended him out to Jacob this round cuz uh no chance that was still in bounds and on like five of the other holes too but with luck on his side I still get it done basket grumbling only time will tell basket grumbling we're here at hole seven a par three 305 ft Gavin still with a one-stroke lead Gavin's speculating again first it was the Gremlins Nathan couldn't hear him because he didn't have the mic I've got the mic now first throw off the basket it's a power heave and it's going to skip up just short of the Pavilion area a little low says Gavin off the tea so Jacob if he's able to Nuke one in between the Pines could claw his way back good throw great line but but it's curving to the left doesn't hit through the pine tree uprights but still a good look at the basket G here just looking to play for the par good heave a little too low skips down the hill so we'll see how that one fared on the other side but Jacob here just looking to at least secure the par the throw is up skipping into the Rocks but still we'll be a good look so good looks all the way around as you can see Jacob lies just over there Gavin right here he sinks it in for par we'll see if Jacob can match he matches the bar so two holes left one stroke lead for the defending Champion we're here at hole 8 it's a par three 182 ft this is a lefty favored hole but we've got two righties on the C uh there's OB approximately 7 ft behind the basket pretty much you see those woods over there yeah that's OB and the playground first throw off the Tad's got a good turn as long as he doesn't overshoot it but that one might be deep into the woods we'll find out now Jacob has to come up a chance he's got to try to gain a stroke here and he's going to go with the back hand so he's not going to go forehand excuse me and he's not going to try the playground Strat oh oh that's a wobbler and that is not even going to turn out that is 100% the first o from Jacob Vander butti finally slipping up that would be incredible Jacob is known as a Whisperer of the trees countless time he hits trees and he bounces into the Fairway it's unbelievable follow me we'll take a trip Into the Woods you can see as we venture deep into the night into the jungle we look for the Elusive Disc no sign of the elusive Beast doesn't help Jacob threw green disc oh of course they use camouflage in the nature found it they found it it it hated our capture but they found it so after reviewing the now replayable footage in the bingo boy dis Golf Championship we have determined that the disc hit this Gap at a wide angle and kened wide right or bounced off a tree as the tree Whisperer does which would rule that it went in at this point so the disc has been dropped in bounds right approximately there and this is the par shot so a rough look for Jacob but before we get to his shot we have to go inspect another disc flash as we as we look considering a couple last couple years this has been a tester we look for the trimming of the grass and I would argue that that is out of bounds I would have to agree with you there and it's too far right to the trimmy right here too long of grass right here this is where the line is too far in that way it is oh [Music] be so I better look here for par for the champion he spins the disc on his middle finger puts upward it's too far the first negative throw and there is just so much frustration there as if Gavin can make this he's two strokes ahead into the final and he is a huge misc down the stretch and now it's going to take the elusive ace at Whole Nine so Jacob TAPS in for the bo the first zorine bogey of the game it so here we go ho nine par three 205 ft Gavin leads off the T he's up two on Jacob so what it'll take is a complete utter disaster from Gavin it is a good chance that I'm going to throw too far right here to avoid the OB left or Jacob has a miracle Ace and storms back got to avoid the corn on the left side throws caring wide left got a decent skip that could be flirting with the horn last year it was the Alfalfa this year it's the corn you've got to be wary of short the pressure got if he's OB a birdie could do it that's a deep throw but it's got a good turn on it and the pine trees ruin the ace run he's inbounds field and even worse news for Jacob he's in play and behind a tree I'm not giving Jacob a chance I'm draining it if Gavin makes this it's over he becomes the first ever three-time champ in the bingo boy summer league the putt is up and it's in and out well I mean I win but it's just less exciting it's in and out and Jacob technically the door is open technically it is a very shut and almost locked door a the birdie throw and now the pressure is technically on he gains a stroke and if Gavin were to somehow miss this one I'll be tapping in with oh the Golden Disc that is the three time defending champ the next Kansas City Chiefs Dynasty has begun it's the comeback Blondie from behind in comeback fashion to get it done here in the third annual Bingo boys championship oh you know what I have to say about that woohoo so the 2024 Summer League season has come to a close with some Same Old results but we're here with the second place finisher of the Season Jacob V Jacob you come up one stroke short but how does it feel to be here you know get to compete here how does it feel feels good just wish I could have put on a better performance I didn't really do what I said I was going to do had bad dries went OB a couple times and uh Miss some crucial putts on whole five and whole eight yeah that's about it so now you've got a little bit more experience under your belt you know what the competition is like what does it take to get back here next year seeing as how my competition is Nathan and we're coming back next year probably to take second again but he so some humility with some confidence from Jacob vunte Jacob any final words to close your 2024 season we'll get him next year you heard it here first he'll get him next year one of the luckiest Championship runs I've ever seen homie landed almost out of bounds six different times on nine holes it didn't matter and it did didn't matter you heard it here first Jacob V the second place finish in the disc golf championship we're going to talk with the champion right now Gavin bolt your 2024 Bingo boys league summer Championship you go and complete the three peat you did it before Patrick Mahomes could even do it how does it feel uh feels nice um kind of a mediocre round I would have loved for that last putt not to spit out so rudely um just soever knows my best year is nine under uh I promise I don't get four under every time well I do get four under every time but uh I've done better I promise uh feels good keeping only one name on the Golden Disc and uh I'm going to see how long how long I can do it how many times in a row how many times can he do it what's the off season going to look like for you so you're in tip top shape for the next summer well the offseason of the Bingo Boys tour goes right into the season of the the Collegiate tour so uh I'll be ready uh December January February probably going to take a break stretch my elbow out a little bit every so often get ready to come back in the spring and dominate once again what can we expect new for the 2025 season new courses new competition what can we expect um the winner is not going to be new it's going to be me so sorry to spoil the next video but uh we'll hopefully get some more courses uh this year we didn't play many um but it still worked out and um maybe new competition if someone wants to join but uh I'm hoping to go for Pete right now I got the three I got a prediction oh Nathan here is going to take at least second place at one round a second place place for the commentator that doesn't mean I'll be here but we sure hope I'm here not total just one round just one round but a man can dream that will do it for the 2025 season Gavin any closing words for this year's championship see you next year four
