hey everyone welcome back to fame Flash in today's video we're diving into a huge legal decision that just went down in Missouri it's all about a major battle over Reproductive Rights and a November ballot referendum that could change the game let's break it down just this week the Missouri Supreme Court made a bold move despite some serious opposition from Republican leaders the court has decided to keep Amendment Three on the ballot for November so what's Amendment three all about well if passed this measure would restore the Constitutional protections for abortion in Missouri protections that were wiped out after the Supreme Court overturned Row versus Wade in 2022 now Missouri is one of several states that took drastic steps following that ruling enacting a near tootal ban on abortion but with this new Amendment voters will get a chance to weigh in on the future of Reproductive Rights in their State the fight to get Amendment Three on the ballot has been intense a group called missourians for constitutional Freedom spearheaded the campaign gathering over 380,000 signatures that's a massive show of support and in August Missouri's Secretary of State J Ashcroft officially certified that the amendment would be on the ballot not long after the amendment was certified Republican state leaders sprang into action state representative Hannah Kelly and state senator Mary Elizabeth Coleman actually sued Ashcroft they claimed the measure didn't clearly state which laws it would repeal and then just days ago Ashcraft reversed course and desertified the amendment saying it didn't meet legal standards that decision was appealed sending the case to the Missouri Supreme Court and with the clock ticking just hours before the deadline the Court ruled to keep Amendment three on the ballot officially rejecting the last minute Republican attempts to block it so what does this mean for Missouri well come November voters will have the power to decide whether to bring back constitutional protections for abortion this will make Missouri the 11th state to vote on Reproductive Rights since Row versus Wade was overturned to pass amendment 3 needs 50% of the vote so every vote is is going to matter this is a huge moment for Missouri and it's a critical moment for Reproductive Rights across the country if you live in Missouri make sure you're informed and make sure you vote on November 5th what are your thoughts on this decision drop a comment below and let's get the conversation going
