[Music] my name is tully kearney i'm a swimmer and also do frame running and i'm here today as an ambassador for cp sport to have a go at different sports help out and encourage the people that are joining in i'm a parasummer and in the water i can only use my arms and i've never been able to find a sport where i can actually use my legs so a couple of years ago when i had shoulder surgery i was out of the water for a long time and my friend who's a parasiticalist invited me to the track to come and try her frame and i just absolutely fell in love with it and left with the freedom and the fact that i could actually use my legs so that's why i love it so much and i encourage every young person to get involved [Music] i love these events because it gives you the opportunity to try different sports which you wouldn't usually get to do especially when you need a really expensive piece of equipment that not many swap clubs in the uk have access to but being able to come here and having multiple different types of sport equipment from all different sports is incredible because then you know whether that piece of equipment will actually work for you or not instead of having to try and find one or buy one just to try a sport so i'm really hoping that the young people here today will realize that sport is for them sport is for everyone and there is always something that they can do i really hope they find a sport that they love and find somewhere close by home where they can practice it regularly i think during this whole pandemic everyone's realized how isolated people feel when they can't meet up with people but this is how a lot of disabled people feel every day because there aren't generally depending on where you live or what access you have to different sport clubs and things and socialize events and also accessibility venues a lot of the same people are isolated they don't get to meet up with other disabled people very regularly so having an event like this where we can all come together have fun try out different sports and realize that you're not alone there are other people with disabilities just like you that are going through the same thing it's such an important thing especially for the young children that potentially might be in a mainstream school and struggling with being different realising that actually they're not different there are other people just like them just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who's been supporting cp awareness month this march it means a lot to everyone with cerebral palsy and the more awareness we can get out there the better that our lives will be
