Oregon State RBs Anthony Hankerson and Jam Griffin Break Down Win Over Idaho State

[Applause] you guys Envision you were going to run the ball as much as you did today uh yes you could pretty much say that you know just uh we pretty much prepared for it you know we know Idaho State running a 3 three5 base defense and just knowing that uh we could draw up different lines I feel like coach D did a great job in the Run game just drawing up every day also as the old line did a great job as uh you know doubling up the singling up the the backers and just giving us creases to hit so yeah you can pretty much say we kind of predetermined so hey guys answer we can go to the podium closer thank you jam did did you feel like you guys just sort of wore them down in the second half because it seemed like the running lanes were larger and you were breaking away from did it feel like you were wearing them down yeah knew going in they wouldn't they couldn't uh keep up with it so it just would wearing chair on them so we knew second half was going to be the half something break bigony was there some thought today to really keep it keep the offense kind of vanilla not really show a whole lot uh yes you know just being able to showcase our Run game and just letting teams know like you facing us you going to face the Run game and if you if you try to you know over over stack the Box you don't get beat over top you know that's just the identity of our offense and uh you know we just send it all send a message out to everybody else we about to play Anthony how would you describe uh javan's demeanor and just what did he say kind of first took the field first just uh seeing him you know just being controllably poised you know through the chaos and stuff like that still being able to lead a group of guys so uh GI giovan you know he did a great job just attacking what was at State you know uh just being able to show it all on line play one down at a time and really just showing he's a he's a person he is now so and then obviously Jabar had his early series and had the the run over the Middle with the spins and all that like how how would you describe that play and what he brings is they kind of bring you know different stuff there uh you know we kind of he he he got some great vision and he also got Good Feet we kind of Drew that play up as I was the lead blocker for him so you know uh just I was telling him like you know just follow me uh we going to run this ball like I got it you know so just being able to uh be his lead Walker just uh kind of making a way up for him so yeah you draw that spin that spin move he has no I ain't draw that up that that's all him what are your thoughts as you guys get prepared to face San Diego State Speed Line what what would looking for and what do you think get and how do you think you have an advantage in uh facing them I just feel like if we come out play our version of football uh for 60 Minutes uh I feel like it' be hard for anybody to stop us not just San Diego State but a lot of Team going forward Jam things have changed a little bit here in Oregon State since you were gone now you're back this year is the vibe any different because the Pack 12 has has changed is this a little bit of a new era so to speak for Oregon State no well yes it's a new era Bray area it's all the same though but yeah it's BR area when you uh that fumble in the first quarter how do you the response to that uh getting back on the field and and uh and having a great day you know how do you how do you respond after you know something you got to be frustrated with uh shout out to my teammates they kept me in the game tell me keep my head up just brush it all play the next play so they was a big part of that and yeah had to make up for that then for sure assuming good health which one of you will finish the season with more yards you got have to wait and see man try to get us kind of kind of on that same note uh I'm just I'm just curious how much do you guys uh you know talk to each other during the game or are aware of kind of where your numbers are at obviously uh you know Anthony you get those two early touchdowns Jam response with two later you guys tease each other about that in the in the moment at all no not in the moment we don't really too much tease each tease each other about it we uh pretty much try to better each other you know just try to feed off whatever each of us getting the look on we might be running the same play but versus different fronts or different looks so just being able to communicate with one another and just being able to Showcase you know we could do yeah what we could do pass the L Stream So for sure first time today for both you guys run behind this offensive line what do you think they did well to to kind of help both you guys they did they did they did well getting a good push uh up front they had we had a couple plays that got great push and so it made it easier on us on our reads and stuff and second level as well obviously you guys uh you guys do your press conference together today uh just kind of how close are the the pair of you uh we real close you know uh as I always mention and J my brother uh we we do this is won my boy this is last year you know so really just trying to finish the strong you know for him and and the rest of the seniors so uh you know just the end of the season with a bang you know just taking one game at a time each game for us is a college football playoff and just U dominating the Tas at hand so for sure
