Everybody was running through the parking lot and sitting on curbs crying and leaning up against everybody's car. >> Panic at the Michigan State Fair last night a shooting in a parking lot killing a 14 year old boy and injuring another. Good evening everyone. I'm tirrell bailey. Thank you all for choosing us this evening. Now this all happened at the suburban collection showplace in Know VI just before 10:00 last night. Nearby police say the shooting is likely the result of an argument between two teams from other communities which ended up outside of the fair. Investigators say the two victims took an Uber from Detroit to Farmington Hills, then another to the fair. Police have not identified a suspect at this time. Now the state fair started on Thursday and ends tomorrow. Today the mood was quite different as thousands of people walked through the gates. It's a very different scene out here And know by tonight and now the people that I talk to tell me they feel safe being here and they're just looking to enjoy the festivities to come back out. Oh, it's absolutely safe to come out. The incident yesterday of course was very unfortunate but it was off site and you know things can happen anywhere. >> Hendrick went on to tell me that she's seen plenty of security officers and police who are keeping everyone safe. Now it didn't deter me. I did check their website and learned about the facts and it was good that they recognized what happened and seemed to be taking appropriate precautions. One fair attendee who didn't want his name shared tells me he feels it's important the younger generation is mentor. >> So these types of shootings don't happen. I appreciate Michigan State Police coming out and helping the situation and try to get things together because we don't need this like just young generation need to start stepping it up. >> In response to the shooting last night. The fairgrounds are closing early today and tomorrow. Additionally, no unaccompanied minors are allowed in the fairgrounds and toward the fair closes tonight at 7 p.m.. All right. So Ellen, you know, I was there last night talking with some people there. They overall described the incident as simply chaotic. Now some people simply may not feel safe coming back if they do have tickets. Are they able to get a refund? Yes, That is a very valid feeling right now. If people don't want to use the tickets they've already bought ,they are entitled to a refund. They'll just have to go to the Michigan State Fair
