Well, the plane that was seized from Venezuela president Maduro has been taken and kept here. at this. airport Now the feds fluid in early yesterday morning after they grabbed it out of the Dominican Republic. us officials say Maduro used, uh, shell company. to hide his identity. when he bought the plane for, 13 million, Since he bought it from a company in Florida. it violated sanctions. put in place by former president Donald Trump. Those sanctions. American companies from doing business with Venezuela's government. Maduro claims. He, won a Venezuela's election in July. However, the US State department points out online voter ties and other evidence shows Maduro lost by a landslide. Maduro is also wanted on drug trafficking charges in the US. and invest and investigators say that's not all, he's mixed up in. The HSI Miami has long-standing investigations into the Maduro regime. We've disrupted. The flow of over 2 billion dollars. and indicted over 30 members of the Maduro regime Associates and facilitators. So we are constantly looking at the Corrupt Practices and illegal activities of the Maduro regime. The. Venezuela government says, the plane seizure was nothing but piracy. by the United States. State visits around the world and it was seized in violation of sanctions laws and exports controls. Specifically a violation of us executive order. 13884 signed by the former president, Donald Trump back in. 2009, 19. according to us officials, this was the result of a joint investigation. which between HSI and the US Department of Commerce.
