last week on the season put together what we've been working towards all season it's all about us we've seen it okay every week this season biggest thing that stood out to me is just his knowledge of the game and I think that that really sets him apart his knowledge is like the best football mind I've ever been around we are equipped with everything we need to go be successful we have that already it's up to us to tap into that though at the end of the day no matter what the circumstances are okay know how Bleak it may look okay we're in a position where you can be successful cuz we equipped bro hey coach we going to say anything about the defensive players that tackle the offense every time we go out there and scrimmage worry about the running back I'm just asking you don't say anything that was his name you see 24K wasn't just any player at UCF huge home right side foot race and Glides past Stallings this time Kevin Smith takes it 78 yards the Hawaii Bowl when we played Nevada is when I finally like had a run longer than 30 yards I had like a 70 or 78 yard run maybe like a 200 yards three touchdowns and that was the last game of the season that made me really feel like okay I I belong a lot of Q similarities Rel this competitor uh a million carries I want to say maybe I think he still has carried the most of anybody in a season and once again they'll just keep giving it to Smith the foot race he wins it touchdown UCF and at least they can see with their own eyes that you know I've been able to do things that they aspire to do and they eventually want to do obviously in their own way I always just remember hey this Kevin Smith guy is putting up like video game numbers uh down at UCF his name is Kevin Smith and if you've been sleeping on him this is your wakeup call and it's overdue he's the nation's leading rusher and score to me it was that team that you know kind of put UCF in National contention it really made people take notice those are really good times those were really good times what would it mean to try to track down Barry Sanders record that stood for a couple decades it just means a lot right now even being mentioned with Barry Sanders but uh if I catch him man it'll just be a lot for me and and I just want to thank my offensive lineman who who would get me there if I broke that record it's an outstanding achievement if I get it I tried I wanted it bad and uh I fell short but to even be in that category to to be chasing Barry Sanders uh it it was all a a surreal moment that uh you know I'll never forget Smith's NFL career was cut short due to injuries however the game wasn't going to let him walk away I Fell in This profession for one because my old head coach George O who I love the de who really made me a coach by just going back to school and get my degree this is truly what God called me to do and so my college career and my NFL career I believe happened just how we're supposed to there's no better feeling than watching y'all go out there and go to work there's no bigger chil than me and V with the sense of Pride that we got with this group he has fun with him but he make those guys become very disciplined as Runners I think he's been invaluable to offensive staff since been back it's on the road it's going to go back and forth but who can sustain and keep punching and to have a guy like coach Smith in your corner it makes a lot of things easier because he knows what you should expect he knows what's coming up and how you should handle certain situ sitations and he's just a great person to have it's God's gift to me and I just want to keep on giving the gift to the players that I come across and that's the guys in my room and the guys on the team you know everybody and and be a positive impact coming into this week's game the home team has won each of the last five matchups between the Razer backs and the Rebels the Arkansas Razer backs come limping in here after losing three in a row but we always know they're going to bring their a game you're ready for it you deserve it but you got to go take it you got to go pay rent every Saturday in the okay and R this dude tonight how hard can you play and how long can you play and the only answer is forever long you take last week means nothing set the tempo let's play great football let's put together a complete game man pick each other up go in there one player 100 play play our ass off get this win in a series that dates to 1908 we've come to expect the unexpected in this one upsets overtime Thrillers and the rebels take the field looking to continue the momentum They seized a week ago true to form the game started quite the opposite of predictions Dart gets rid of it too high and incomplete and this Arkansas defense comes up with a big stop on the Rebels first possession with Arkansas gaining just as many yards as they would lose and more back starts to lean and they're going to throw a flag a ball is fumbled on the ground Sanders recovers it Bo an inauspicious start for the Razer [Applause] backs on play Action Jefferson pressur and they get to Jamon Gordon comes up with a sack it's a loss of 12 going to live and knee going to be caught by Armstrong he heads to the far Sidelines gets to the 40 where he's knocked off his feet at the 38 shy of the first down but Bo he got a bunch of it fourth and four ball in the left hash there's the snap Jefferson in the pocket over the middle got his man caught at the 30 and they do get the first down it's Tai Washington who hauls it in on a hitch route and he lobs it down field is flag on the play and it's still caught by Washington and the fake in a little pass is going to be caught by Washington and he goes into the end Zone on the left side with no trouble a three- yd strike and Washington who's pretty deep on the depth chart has come out here and showed out for the Razer back we don't panic we don't flitch we trust our training we play harder than now it's simple okay we just got to get off the field on third down okay the early hog lead left lane kein Squad in need of a spark third and te of the Razer Backs from their 25 Here Comes pressure pick it pick it pick it lots of time fires intercepted it's C stru he's taking it toward the end zone will he get there hit and drops at the four yd line I don't know who KJ was looking at on that one but a shiny cyun with the pick and the rebels have it first and go it's Judkins in the back field now and he'll take the direct snap looking for a scene founding touchdown oh miss in the Rebels first lead they've been climbing uphill for most of the night except for the short field they had following the Cy truck interception over the middle for a first down Dayton Wade long run Wade goes in motion toss pitch to Wade he's following Kar off the left side he dives into theend Zone touchdown oh miss so after going down seven to nothing the rebels did have a 170 run to take a 177 lead end at the half you can't just chill now we going to go defense going to go and then we going to go we don't have time to ease our way go get four go get five we can't miss when we got a chance to go 60 I'm good let y do B on three B on three 1 2 three pass and here's the snap Jefferson wants to throw wide opener hit outout at the 37 of the 40 47 yd line and it's a first down with the Razer backs Jefferson wants to throw deep out it's got a man over here and it's going to be caught on the Old Miss Sidelines at the 42 yd line for a first down it's broen snap backing down the kick is on its way looks like it might be short let's see did he get it he got it it man I was hoping but he got it through there just a little bit a big kick there V trying to get it back and they'll shove the entire pile to first down territory it seems and there's the kick and the kick is good so Arkansas has cut it to four it's Old Miss 17 Arkansas 13 the third quarter was all Hogs pressure coming and they take dark down and Arkansas has seized momentum with a long field goal and now a sack from Malik Chavis and it carried into the fourth looking for a screen to Sanders turns up field he's got a first down rocket Sanders takes it all the way down to the 21 and a second and six Jefferson caught Arkansas touchdown TI Washington what a play by KJ Jefferson Razer backs got a little woo Pig suoy going a little life in the stadium for the Hawks right now with their team and fans look at this time bro how many possessions we have we only have one this high9 Judkins working his way across the 30 to the 33 yd line will have six yds guys were grabbing at him fortunately with his strength was able to pull it Forward here's Judkins finds a huge hole now he's Off to the Races and they track him down at the 30 yd line got Dart sliding catch made for a first down by Watkins Bentley picks up the first down touchdown oh miss and the rebels back in [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] front go man dark he's got a man open Watkins on the far side on a deep pitch and he catches it and has the first down caught it about the 46 turned and got to the 50 Bentley breaks to the outside 25 20 15 10 five he's knocked out of bounds around the one or two yd line we'll see where they officially spotted looks like the three what a run by ulyses Bentley the fourth here's the field goal and Davis drills it through a little short Chip Shot about 24 yards or so Jefferson hands off to Rocket Sanders a menace against these Rebels last year but held in check tonight Freeman Rush here comes the fourth they got him in trouble Jefferson's in the back field he's hit he goes down what a play by the old miss defense Isaac uku and Ashante cun met at the quarterback and said let's take the big man down stingy doesn't begin to describe by Pete golding's defense versus the Hogs right now look situation to be up and they got to go score a season high five sacks and just 36 yards allowed on the ground gave the hom standing rebs the upper hand all night long over the middle Tak it away intercepted by Miss second pick of the night it's John Saunders Jr who may have just sealed it for the rebels and this one is over what a win for the Old Miss [Applause] rebel oh GL to God we see y' oh B we we got a B we we see yall that our burning too oh they'll go down we down them pigs we heading to this by- week winners and we going to come out winners that's all I'm going to say Hy tidy man h t turnab I was too excited I was laughing at KJ the whole time it's not always pretty sometimes sometimes great teams just got to find a way that's what we did fourth quarter we were down came back and won it that's that's what we do all right listen up all right guys that's a hell of a team win right there man I mean this is the SEC it is hard to come back from an emotional game like last week okay and the way that played today all right wasn't pretty for a lot of the time early okay and you got to do that you got to win these type of games they happen in this conference they ain't all going to be all right the way that you want them to go so I commend you for the way that you played we got to keep improving all right but after losing early like that to be five1 at the buys the best that you can do and you went one and0 today so I commend you guys hanging in there where is John Saunders for catching ball where you at don't you know when you win the game with a turnover you got to give a speech speech speech speech one and that's all I need a little speed training man you know that pit was good boy at
