all right guys Charlie with a state Outdoors my buddy scuba what's Happ we're going to go through the stages of a category one hurricane this is kind of the outer bands of hurricane Francine check out the bands and we're going to keep this going until hopefully we get into the eye check it out all right here's band one we're working with maybe 40 50 m hour sustained winds with gust up to about 75 we're at my budd's apartment complex so we're surrounded by a giant parking garage and some apartment buildings but if you can see the trees in the background we're looking at that one palm tree right there we're going to judge it on that guy if you can see it that's the eye right there Blue Dot is us we're almost on the eye I think we're actually going to get [Music] it right all right guys it's uh sorry I got bright yeah it's a little bright it's getting kind of dark we don't have any kind of power but uh we're maybe about 30 to maybe two hours away from the eye he's going to pull something on his phone I'm going to show you where we out right now all right so where that little blue dot right there I'm pretty sure we're going to get the eye as far as our little palm tree this guy is being a straight up Trooper # palm tree life all right there you go # palm tree life if you like this little video all right guys since my last little clip it's been about uh 30 seconds and it's starting to be Wicked yeah bud see if I can show you that video on the on the roof again I mean it's like I said guys we're in a uh paring garage but it is wicked it's only about maybe 75 80 M hour of winds which is still count one until I think 94 but uh I mean it's pretty wicked right here we're protected too yeah we're protected so this is kind of just a a wicked thunderstorm with no Thunder [Music] all right guys this is where we are right now it is 7:30 7:30 this is where we are right now little blue dot is us right now we're on we're as close to the eye as we can possibly be without really being in the eye and I'm going to have weatherman scuba explain it so as your winds are coming this way like Northeast when we get closer to the eyewall it's going to go north and then it's going to come in from the southeast once we get to the wall like once we get on the actual eye it's going to be calm but we're going to be on the the wind's going to be coming Southeast at that point in time or Northeast at that point in time so what are we looking basically you're looking at you're looking at a rotation once we clear that band we'll either be in the eye or we'll still be in the wall the wall is going to be where your heaviest winds are so how are we going to know we're in the eye it'll be calm this is not [Laughter] [Music] calm all right guys guys this is where we are now little blue dot New Orleans that's the uh eyewall right there that you can see and it looks like the back of the storm kind of disappeared the wind it has shifted it was going very much West now it's going almost completely north oh you just saw that flag that wasn't lightning Transformer it came from over here that was a Transformer all right guys this is about it for the category one update on the palm tree the palm tree is still there sucks for you Charlie no it's still there yeah still there the back of the storm kind of fell out I'm not really going to be able to show yall the eye so this is category one here in New Orleans hurricane frantin but uh I don't think we're going to get that eye with the clear skies and all that kind of stuff that I wanted to show y'all but you know it is what it is
