BREAKING: Jordan Love Suffers MCL Sprain!

all right guys so we just got the official injury update and what that actual injury is for Jordan love just minutes ago really didn't expect it to come out this soon they just landed off the plane like an hour ago we know how the Packers run things I fully expected it to take all the way till tomorrow but we officially have an update and guys it's it's not that bad it's not the end of the world it's not wonderful but it's not the end of the world Packers quarterback Jordan love who went down with a lower leg injury late in his team's lost to the Eagles in Brazil had tests on his knee today that revealed an MCL sprain Source said no ACL damage first let's get what sprain means out of the way to a ligament so it's not a MCL tear a tear is when the ligament completely ruptures and and tears right where a sprain is either a stretch of the ligament or a partial tear it really matters on the grade here there's grade one obviously the lowest grade two and grade three where grade tw's the most common MCL sprain in the NFL and it happens a lot about 177% of NFL players have had an MCL sprain so right now we don't know what grade it is but if it's a grade one there is a slight chance that Jordan love could miss no time or just say one week now grade two it differs a little bit I'm going to bring up the screen and we're going to take a look at Aaron Jones because he is a player who has had a lot of MCL sprains and every player is different every person is different and he's not even playing the quarterback back position so you would think the recovery would be a little bit longer for say a running back than a quarterback so we'll start with his first MCL sprain when he entered the NFL we see here November 12th 2017 he had an MCL sprain grade two uh in week 10 he missed the next two games so not that bad he also had another one in the uh week 16 of that season and he missed the season's final game you know we didn't make the playoffs so we don't know if that would have been a twoe thing a three-week thing we're not sure the next one in 2018 he missed the final two games of the season with a sprained MCL so again uh didn't make the playoffs so it's kind of like okay would have been three weeks it probably would have been two and then he would have played in the playoffs if that had been the case now moving to 2021 you know here's one where it's an MCL sprain grade two and he only missed one game he suffered this in week 10 win over the Seahawks in 2021 and he only missed one game then finally in 2023 last year again Aaron Jones sprained his MCL grade two I mean this guy's just had so many MCL brains uh this versus the Chargers in week G and he missed three games but this is also older Aaron Jones you know in 2023 Aaron Jones on the back half of his career obviously his healing time is not going to be as good so the general census here and this is just for Aaron Jones you know two to three weeks sometimes even one week that's not that bad now that's for a grade two again we don't know what grade this is if it's one it quite literally he could play or it could be a one week out type of situation for Jord if it's a grade three and a partial tear then you're looking at more time you're kind of looking at around 5 to six weeks recovery for a grade three MCL sprain but again it's not a factual timeline it's a caseby casee basis and for example if you look at Nick chub's profile here in 2020 he had an MCL sprain grade two and he was placed on short-term IR so whereas Aaron Jones had a lot of these grade two MCL sprains was out two weeks three weeks sometimes one week we see chub here placed on short-term IR so again it's a caseby casee basis it really depends on the grade and the player themselves so overall guys considering everything that we saw last night and all the medical doctors really worried about that knee pop this isn't that bad now the knee popping right around where that MCL was it it's probably at minimum a grade two strain just by looking at that even potentially a Grade Three um hopefully we get that information soon through the Packers or Matt lefur saying okay we expect him to be out you know three weeks four we whatever it may be but this is overall good news like there was a a chance here that Jordan love had a high ankle sprain that could take him out at least six weeks which which a great three MCL spring can do the same you know there was a chance at an ACL tear which obviously would have ended his season there's a luxated patella or kneecap that could take six weeks or more so there it could have been a lot worse is what I'm trying to say and this is good news now the Packers still need to figure out even if he misses one week or two weeks who their quarterback is going to be I'm not sure if they'd bring in Ryan tanah Hill if it's only going to be a onee to two we thing if we're looking at three four five or six then maybe they go ahead and do that but going back home playing against the Colts this weekend you have extra time to prep we're talking nine days if you need to run Malik Willis or Sean Clifford for one game i' say you just do that personally it depends on the recovery of Jordan love of course how quickly he recovers what strain that is as I I keep saying uh all that's very important and hopefully we get some more news soon but just wanted to quickly update you guys as this is all happening right in front of us you know just released a video like 30 minutes ago going over everything that we know and then of course something new comes out right after that of course but hey I'm glad we got the news cuz usually with the Packers you're in the dark for a while so I appreciate you guys coming by to the channel leave a like down below if you did enjoy the video but I appreciate you guys watching I'll catch you on the next one as always go back go
