[Music] welcome back rids the die has cast we have our opponents for Champions League group stage So Real Madrid Leverkusen AC Milan and Jona these are the biggest opponents to face is will there be a Redemption for mosala against Real Madrid and how will anfield welcome zabi Alonzo and what do you think about about our chances in the Champions League so stay tuned we are going to discuss the new changed format and also Liverpool's chances in the uh Champions League also and what how is their road ahead let's quickly go through the new format so previous Champions League had 32 teams which will be divided into eight groups of four teams each top two teams used to qualify for round of 16 third team used to go to Europa League but in the new format there are 36 teams divided into four parts currently and they will play total one team will play eight matches let's take example of Liverpool so Liverpool is in the part number one they have created one coefficient according to the history of the club their European success and Europe uh their overall League uh standings so from Premier League League there are four teams Manchester City Liverpool Arsenal and Aston Villa this year for the Champions League Arsenal came second in the Premier League but still they are in the second part not in the first part first part consists of one of the biggest names in the Champions League and in European history for example Manchester City Real Madrid Bayern Munich PSG Liverpool Dortmund so why Arsenal is in second part and Liverpool because Arsenal has never won the Champions League they are not consistent uh played in the European uh European cups or Champions League Europa League like that so their coefficient has been uh less compared to Liverpool to take the example of Liverpool forward so Liverpool will play total eight matches in the group stage how that will be divided so from each part we have four parts right so first part they will play two games uh from the first part two teams they will play from second part two teams from third part two teams and from the fourth part two teams those are four uh total eight matches and from the first part whoever is for example they are playing against Real Madrid and Barcelona so one match they will play at home and one match at away so for example Real Madrid away Barcelona at at home that will be a treat uh it brings the 2019 uh semifinal it will bring so yeah like that from part two also one match at home one match at away so basically four match at home and four Match away but it doesn't mean like they will play from the same partt any team from any partt two teams from any part they will play so this is the format for new Champions League same format will be implemented for Europa and Europa conference leap which will be name named as UFA conference leag so Liverpool will play eight teams it will be divided over the until January this group stage will be played after that once the group stage is done the top eight teams means basically Whoever has one more or whoever has a more Point those teams will be directly qualified for the round of 16 so next 8 to 24 teams 9 to 24 teams they will play one of playoff so in that whoever gets uh gets uh more points they will play round of 16 against the previously eight teams so that will round off the round of 16 the last teams 25 to 36 they will be in the first round only they will be eliminated and remaining 17 to 24th team that will also be eliminated after uh playoffs and once this stages are done uh round of 16 quarterfinal semi-final and final that will be played as usual from the previous format only one home game one away game and final will be in the uh neutral place this time final is played in Bayern minut so yeah Liverpool's matches so we have been drawn to home at Real Madrid uh Bayer Leverkusen Lil and balona so out of these four I think Real Madrid and Bayern Leverkusen will be a tough uh match uh Real Madrid has been the thorn in Liverpool's success recently we have lost two Champions League final against them so that match will be very tough but when good news is it is at anfield and if the cop and the fans are behind the team it it might be anything can happen there another fun thing is zavi alanso will be coming to anfield uh he's the head coach for Leverkusen and last year we were thinking we will meet him in the Europa uh League final but that didn't happen Atlanta came in between and we were out of the CH out of the competition but yeah this time he will be coming to anfield so that will be interesting away matches are RB liik AC Milan PSV and Jona again in this also I think AC Milan and Jona will be kind of tough not tough but uh tricky tricky matches AC Milan is a good team they have a good history and Jona has shown last season in uh La Liga that they can compete with the top teams they were the third in the La Liga and in the initial phases uh almost one 23d of the season they were on top of the La Liga so they can compete with uh big teams for Liverpool the home matches with the big teams will be very critical we have to get points in those matches because if we lose those points or we drop the points in those matches it will be very uh difficult to stay in the top eight and if you want direct direct playoff uh place we need to be in the top eight so yeah that is a tough ask another thing number of matches have increased if we are not in the top eight more matches we have to play if we are not directly qualifying then that will be another issue our Squad depth is good but again if one or two key players get injured or something uh uh happens to any player that will be very difficult we will be playing so many matches in the fa cups different different Cup competitions in Premier League is also very tough and uh on top of that this Champions League also so that is going to be a tricky how arnest lot makes adjustments make his substitution give rest to the people give rest to the players and he U how he utilizes the players that is going to be a tricky and that will show how good a coach arnest lot is another thing is for Salah has said before the 2022 Champions League final that he want to face Real Madrid that became kind of a joke but yeah uh Salah will be looking for some Redemption against Real Madrid Real Madrid is coming with kilan mbappe Venicia Jr and Rodrigo the front three then behind them is uh Bellingham so that is a St studed and top side that will be the match to look at the schedule will be posted on Saturday
