Roberto freaking Luongo,
I guess we're in your home. So I would say welcome
to Monday Night Raw, but we're really in your building right now. What's up, are you excited for
the show tonight? >> Very excited, it's my first
time here since game seven, so some nice feelings right now. >> What did it feel like walking in? Because obviously it's been
a celebration summer, right? Congratulations, by the way, on the
Florida Panthers winning the Stanley cup. What has the summer been like, and what was it like first walking
into the building for the first time? >> It's been unbelievable, so many nice
feelings, just pulling up to the arena and seeing still the banners up and
pulling in, parking, walking in my office. And it's been a short summer,
but it's been fantastic, and my day with the cup is Wednesday,
so I'm looking forward to that. >> Big plans, what are you doing? >> I'm taking it back home to Montreal,
so spend it with some family and friends back there. >> What are you eating out of it? >> Well, I had the pasta already at my
brother in law's restaurant, so this time I'm thinking my other brother's got
a restaurant, maybe some gnocchi poutine. >> Ooh, whoa, I've never even thought of
gnocchi poutine as a legitimate thing. But you are a legit WWE fan,
you're here for the show. Is there anyone you're
looking forward to see? And, like,
how long have you been a wrestling fan? >> I've been watching since I was a little
kid, and then I stopped for a while, but now that I have a son, we watch it
together every week, so it's been great. >> Does your son have a favorite? >> How are you, brother? >> How are you?
Nice to meet you. >> It's good to meet you,
you got your name on the cup. >> I know.
>> I'm so happy, like, first thing I wanna say. >> Thanks for the shout out,
I saw you do that on TV. >> No, 100%, I feel like hockey's
still kind of the redheaded stepchild. A little bit like wrestling,
nobody gives everybody their due. Not stoked about the 2011
playoffs game seven? >> I was gonna ask if this is a slightly
awkward in any way, I mean, Hawks fan, former Canuck. >> No, I wanted this to be a surprise for
you because I think, yeah, I probably hated you back then, you know? >> [LAUGH]
>> Cause we were supposed to. I say we is, like, I'm on the team, right? We were supposed to repeat, we did okay,
and it's really cool, to see good people. >> Thank you. >> Get their due, and your name's
on the cup, what's that feel like? >> It's amazing, I mean, I saw it
about a month ago for the first time, and just something you
work your whole life for. And obviously I didn't do it as a player,
but I still put in the work here
as management and just to see. >> Does that matter, though? >> It doesn't, the feelings are the same. >> Yeah.
>> The feelings are the same when I played, right? The emotions you go through, the emotions
of the game, whether you're on the ice or in the management suite. But, man, there's a lot of
work that went behind that. >> I feel as a wrestler, like, I used to
always look at my career as it just being in the ring, and now I look at it like,
okay, we're probably winding down here. I'm a little older, a little grayer. >> LAUGH]
>> But there's so much more to do behind the scenes in
this business, even on the camera. So, I feel like it does people
a disservice when they say things like, I wanted to get it as a player,
but I didn't. But still, your name on the cup,
to me, you're etched in history. It's eternal, and
I think it's super awesome, I have a lot of friends from Vancouver
who are huge Lou fans, so it's cool. I'm glad I'm here, I'm glad I get
to say congrats to you in person. >> Thank you, I really appreciate that. >> And you better be cheering for
me out there. >> Well, I was gonna ask, I was gonna ask. >> [LAUGH]
>> I mean, you said that you rooted
against him once upon a time. Where do you stand in the CM Punk,
Drew McIntyre? I gotta ask the question,
I'm a real journalist. >> Is Drew here tonight or? >> Yeah. >> He's here. >> He's here.
>> I'd like to meet him, maybe. >> Yeah. >> [LAUGH]
>> I'll go find him. >> You'll go see if he can find him. >> Yeah.
>> I don't know what he'll look like if he makes it here. >> [LAUGH]
>> Yeah, absolutely. >> One piece at a time. >> We got a little claw Lemieux,
like Chris Kreider thing, Draperdeh. >> Well, good, we're good. >> I'm glad you guys got to me. >> Well, thank you very much. >> I'm known to be a hockey fan. >> No, I knew that already, and I knew that you were a Hawks
fan even when we were playing. >> The way he said. >> [LAUGH]
>> It's just disgusts him. >> This girl is terrible, but
I really appreciate it, thank you so much, means a lot to me. >> Congrats, man,
did you have your day with the cup yet? >> Wednesday. >> Wednesday.
>> Yeah, Wednesday, okay. I'm taking it home,
taking it home to Montreal. >> All right, cool, you're gonna eat
cereal out of it, put a baby on it. >> Poutine. >> Yeah,.
>> Yeah, my brother has a restaurant that's his
specialty that we're gonna eat, and we're actually playing a game, my friends,
against my younger brother's friends. >> So cool. >> Yeah, we're gonna strap on the pads. >> Well, sorry to barge in. >> No.
>> One more time. >> Nice to meet you. >> Congratulations, champ. >> I appreciate it. >> I don't know if you guys are foes,
frenemies, what to call you, but that was pretty cool. >> Thanks for everything. >> You guys are covering
a lot of boxes there. Just a couple more questions for me, because it's such a privilege
to have you here. And I've made a habit of
crossing over hockey and wrestling over the last couple of years. So do you have a favorite WWE match or
WrestleMania match or anything like that? Or, like, a favorite moment as a fan? >> I think my favorite moment is probably
when Undertaker threw mankind off the cage. That was the most craziest
match I've ever been a part of. >> Well, we've seen lots of athletes,
George Kittle, to name one. Musicians, Jelly Roll,
kind of get involved, chairs, choke slams, like mixing it up. If you ever found yourself exchanging
words ringside with a WWE superstar, would you hesitate from mixing it up? I mean, you are a former hockey player. >> Well, I was a goalie, so
I didn't really fight much. >> [LAUGH]
>> But sometimes you gotta do
whatever you gotta do, right? >> That's a yes, I'm taking that as a
Roberto Luongo is willing to throw hands. >> I got my brother in law here also,
he's pretty aggressive also. >> So he does look tougher than me. >> I brought the meat. >> [LAUGH] I'm just kidding, Luongo enjoy
your day with the cub a couple days away. I appreciate the time, enjoy the show
tonight and hopefully you and Punk don't get into it ringside. You might be out there tonight,
I don't know. >> Maybe, thank you for
having me, I appreciate it. >> Congrats again on the cup men. >> Thank you.
