Well, this morning, we now know that Virginia lieutenant governor wins some. Earl Sears is running for governor. Earl Sears is the Commonwealth's first female lieutenant governor elected in 2021. And now she's vying to become the first woman in the governor's seat. Casey Bailey joins us live from Virginia Beach where just hours ago she made the announcement in Casey, what was said last night. Well, last night, she asked for support as she embarks on the journey to the governor's mansion. She even asked her supporters to stand behind former president Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election despite previously saying that she would not support him. Now, Earl Earl served in the house of delegates from 2002 to 2004. The Marine veteran is a Jamaican immigrant who moved to New York with her family when she was six. She says her story describes the American dream last night. Rally attendees say they are fully back in the lieutenant governor and they say they plan to vote for her in the 2025 election. She's fantastic and she's a conservative and I would vote for her. I think when you get down to it. You need to focus on the things that you have in common and not the things that divide you. And right now, Earl Sears is a democratic opponent, is Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger who announced her run for governor back in November. We live in Virginia Beach. I'm Casey Baylor for 13 years now. All right, Casey. Thank you for that.
