Donna price of Zep was devastated when the RCMP allegedly told her her son had been found dead in the washrooms in front of City Hall on Tuesday the preparations for the funeral home they needed some information so a third party um went to his residence and also wanted a few of his belongings and uh to my surprise uh 13 hours afterwards they called and they said uh your son is well alive after confirming her son was alive she called the RCMP and asked how this could happen and they said well we took a picture of the body and we send it to our counterparts and we recognized in that way I said what by a photo by a photo Price's son is known to police and lives with substance abuse disorder and mental illness she and her husband have hired lawyer Brian Murphy to gather information for a potential lawsuit Murphy alleges the RCMP was negligent and did not follow proper procedure the actual deceased and my client's son were maybe part of a group that are sometimes looked at as not valued in society you have to think that this investigation wasn't done with the same care and concern as it might have been if there was a man in a pinstripe suit you know found in front of a a very large home or something he says the family is seeking an apology and Assurance this won't happen to anyone else in a statement sent to Global News on Friday afternoon the New Brunswick RCMP said they are in communication with the family members about the situation and declined to comment further citing legal reasons Susanna Point Global News Moncton
