A big old game there. One of the biggest watch parties for the big game was that Co Commons in the downtown De Moines look five, Alex Fulton was at that watch party and has reactions from fans whether they Hawkeyes or Cyclones. Hundreds of fans came together on the streets of downtown Des Moines. Cheering on their favorite team for Saturday's big game during the first half. Cheers came from Hawkeye fans while Cyclone fans felt frustration in the second half. Though more celebration came from Cyclone fans as Iowa State started scoring the downtown watch party attracted fans of all ages and even households that were divided. Everyone I talked with said they were happy to be around fans reacting to the game in real time. It feels like a lot of great energy even though you have both sides here and I really like that energy that is going on right here uh in the heart of Iowa with this win.
