[Music] and birdie we can't let you go tonight without thanking you for your passionate weather reporting over the past decade and a bit I've loved your energy in our lives and on behalf of the entire news team I'm and I'm sure all of the viewers I'd like to wish you all the best for your next chapter absolutely there Sam and uh just yeah straight from the cuff as I do my weather it's generally not scrup I can tell you but what we do is I want to thank everyone at home for allowing me into your living rooms over the past 28 years across all networks 9 10 and here at 7 I started at 7 back in '96 so we've done the roundabout but I really want to thank everyone for putting your trust in me your loyalty your support um and of course you know going out there boating and fishing we have the highest amount of registered Vates in the southern hemisphere here in Queensland and this is what people love they move the Queensland to experience and and to live our lifestyle from the southern states it's beautiful here so you know you can follow us on step out cber Paul B where I'll have all the reports for you guys now at step outside with Paul BT and check it out and have a great time and thank you again I want to thank my family I love you guys for supporting me and of course uh hey we're going to roll into a bit of a package now if I had the opportunity I wouldn't have want to go this way it's what happens when you get sacked he's the weatherman who can talk underwater on the water in the water so loud in your a in driving rain we seeing a lot of rain pushing in and of course the after effects of a cyclone floods we're up here above the mighty Richmond River seone Hazel Hazel is it Hazel Hazel was a dog buried somewhere beneath this all right here we go as birdie was about to go live got to be super careful a dog literally just went into this foam and they've just rescued it not just reporting rescues he was part of one running into the surf to help save a boy from drowning at surface Paradise all of this unfolding as he was about to go live on our news and a 10-year-old boy got dragged out exactly what I was saying there have been too many golden television moments to mention but we've thrown this one in for good measure and again in slow motion always one to make a splash he's been lighting up our screens for more than a decade takea WEA [Music]
