I'm Fleur Jong I compete in the 100 metre And the long jump. I'm from the Netherlands. I began my career running the 100 metre And 200 metre After a few years I started to wonder
if this was really something I was going to be the best at, I had doubts, and then I discovered the long jump. From the start I thought, okay,
I'm going to be good at this. I can excel in this. I used to dance. That’s why the long jump is actually perfect because there is a certain structure and rhythm to the run up Especially before you push off It's almost like a dance rhythm, that is key before you push off. You have to accelerate. And having a dance background, has helped me enormously. Ultimately I have a desire to implement a perfect or as near as perfect plan as possible each time. This means I leave nothing out there when I am performing Now that means I am the best in the world. Which is surreal. It was very unique very special and a intimate experience to share with your team I enjoyed it immensely. Now is the time to show the world what we are capable of in front of a live crowd. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of people in the stadium. Because it’s a unbelievable experience. I've already been to the Stade de France, and to just sit and take in that atmosphere
is something incredibly special. I know from my experience in the diamond league when you hear the crowd getting excited, it affects you too, and I am looking forward to doing it again. The world record now stands at 6.74 meters that is already unbelievably far, but if i can add another centimetre to that I will be jumping for joy. But I’ll have to do something special for that to happen in the end though, it’s always better when you're out there especially with athletics, you have to get keep pushing your boundaries and seeking out
those ultimate performances so I can win a gold medal.
