Utah Utes Football vs SUU Football 2024 - What to Expect?

on this episode of the DNA Sports recap we are one week away from Utah kicking off against Southern Utah [Music] University let's go aad and talk about our boys up on the Hills shall we oh yeah okay so first of all before we get into that we are about a little bit by the time this comes up we're about a week away from UT's kicking off against Southern Utah how are you feeling my friend I mean I'm feeling good I I this is this is a great game I mean the fact this is the last time these two these two teams met the final score was 73 to7 okay so that I mean that was in 22 obviously cam Rising is on his second run to a Pack 12 title at this point I mean we still have Tavon Thomas on the team he's splitting carries with Chris Curry and jayen Glover like Bryson Barnes even makes an appearance in this game and goes six for six for 100 yards that's right so um this is this this game can go this game is pretty brutal it's it's going to be a tall task for s utah for sure yeah I mean this the talent levels on these two teams is obviously completely different uh suu is you know their program just looking to compete you know they moved into the whack a couple years ago um good sign good signs for them though is that this is their first coming off their first winning season yeah yeah went six and five last year which is pretty good four and two in conference too yeah me they're they're rebuilding this program they're working on it Southern Utah First of all Southern Utah going up here and playing our boys in the hill there is always great I always love that what is your primary goal for this first week one game one give thought on that real quick yeah I mean I think most importantly we want to see Camen go out there and if there's any rust to be shaken off we want him to shake it off right we want to get we want to see him get out there get the ball up the field get the offense rolling um and then and then get him out of there yeah you know what I mean like let's let's let Isaac Wilson take some snaps and command the offense and do all the things that we thinks he's capable of doing and then let's go yeah can you believe it's been a year and a half since he last took a snap that is Utah that is absolutely insane it kind of hurts my soul Brank Kei is almost two years since he last took a snap for the University Utah almost two years you want to hear my primary goal for uh this game against suu yes my primary goal is to get everybody off the field healthy yes geez yes absolutely I mean that it's the most important thing I mean we struggled it we fought it it was it was a really tough year last year because every single time we turned around somebody was hurt one of our primary Playmakers was off the field and it just you know kind of continued to spiral down so yeah yeah you're you absolutely nailed it if we can get everybody El the field healthy I'll take it it's a win yeah those first two things I talked about when it came to that is the fact that you know it's been over a year and a half since um since uh cam took a snap and it's been over almost two years since bran Kefi uh was in a in a play for the for the University of Utah so getting those people in the game getting some reps getting up the game speed and getting them off the field uh you know is kind of the key piece there my secondary secondary goal for this team is to get 21o lead and then let Isaac get some stamps in the second half basically just kind of run the second half uh from there they should have a 21o lead by the end of the first quarter I you know I don't want to be too ambitious I thought 21 would be a conservative thing but yeah if if they don't I'm going to be kind of I don't know what was the final score last time 73 to7 73 to7 weren't we at that game I feel like we were at that I think we were at that g yeah and it was and I think we left like in the middle of the third because we're like I think this one's pretty much in the bag yeah it was yeah it was a good game I think that's where I got that head actually right behind you oh yeah yeah I think you're right yeah so Props out to the team store there on Camp that was awesome um but yeah so we're really looking forward to it I think it's gonna be a fun it's just good it's just G to be good to have college football you know back in you know playing oh dude I'm so ready for
