Happy Thursday, everybody. We're still tracking tropical depression Francine, which made landfall yesterday in Louisiana as a category two hurricane right now. It is a tropical depression bringing some additional rainfall to portions of Mississippi and a few severe storms down in the Panhandle of Florida. They saw a few tornado warnings this morning. Now it's gonna continue to push off towards the north and the northern Mississippi just to weaken into just a regular low pressure system as we head into late Thursday and Friday stalling out a bit as it gets into portions of Arkansas again, bringing them some additional rainfall. But then after that really starting to dissipate. So, not much of a concern here in the Hampton Roads area. We do have tropical depression seven though, which is expected to become our next name storm as we head into tomorrow or into the weekend. The next name on the list is tropical storm Gordon not expected to strengthen much as we head into the weekend, only about 45 to 50 mile per hour storm after that models are likely taking this out to sea. So that is some good news. But again, we do have a lot of time to watch that one. We're also watching an area off to the eastern portions of the Caribbean, a 20% chance of development within the next week or so. So, just something to monitor. But the next big thing that we're watching here is really this blob off the area of the Carolinas, a 30% chance of development within the next week or so. Now the models are trying to develop a coastal low as we get into late Sunday, early Monday. And then this is going to continue to push off towards the north and the west as we get into the later portions of Monday and into Tuesday. The main concern here right now is just some additional rainfall in the Hampton roads area in eastern North Carolina and some gusty winds as well. So overall things are not looking too bad here as we go throughout the next couple of days. We'll continue to keep you updated on the latest in the tropics here at 13 news. Now.
