Head Coach Jonathan Gannon Press Conference - Cardinals 2024 Preseason

definitely back around the mix you know what I mean he caught my eye a good point Donnie he um he he'll have a lot to learn from too it was good to see him out there lathered up and playing speaking of rookies it looked like rabbit got a lot of playing time and he looked really fast out there when he had a cover yeah like the kind of pro uh progress that he's made I do you know um he's one that's kind of been under the radar like you said he's doing a really good job he's playing fourth down too but um I thought that he was in the right spot um most of the game I saw him have a couple violent hits um you know I thought he did a good job any takeaways seeing the new kickoff up close yeah I can't wait to watch the tape right now um but you know I I got it out a couple times you know one popped on us a little bit um interesting to see them obviously kick it through there the last one um so it was good we'll have a lot to learn from off the tape when their starters were out there your defense was pretty effective what did you see as the key for that unit earlier yeah I thought I mean probably you know pretty good stopping the run I think early CU I don't remember it being second and two too much there was one drive I thought it was like second and two second and one um that's hard to play defense like that but I thought they didn't stay ahead of the sticks so we were able to get them to some third Downs I think the first third down they completed um and then we came back and got him off the next third down so you're just trying to get it to that GN pass you know what I mean but um for what was being called today I thought they did a pretty good job of man on- man winning some winning some one-on ones flip side of that with some of the offensive issues in the first half how how do you evaluate when Saints had a lot of their starters out there yeah that's that's who they're going to play against so it's a great form of evaluation really going to go up against really good players week in and week out you know so who can win their one- i- once who can do what their coach to do who can make plays so that'll be a good tool for us to look at today tonight what' you make of the offensive line in the first half I thought we got we were a little leaky a little bit in pass Pro it seemed like Dez was off the spot a little too much a little too quick um but I thought the the Run game looked pretty good you know we got the Run game going a little bit we had the one the one hold I knew he called that was that run popped there but got called back so we got to play penalty free there on the backside but uh you know we're going to we're going to play physical and violent and we got to be able to move people on the line of scrimmage and get our backs going how do you think your coordinators did today just kind of I know this going in the year two but how you feel like they got into play um if you rewinded to a year ago um I felt like uh they were better um just with um the communication what is being communicated I thought that was streamlined a lot better today um and just the operation of everything um knowing that the menu is that the menu you know um we don't have everything up but we had our stuff up and I thought they did a good job okay thank you see in the Midwest
