MEMPHIS TIGERS 2024 FOOTBALL PREVIEW: THE OFFENSE COULD BE EXPLOSIVE

when you talk about the strength of this year's Tiger football team the offense is the obvious choice Seth henan back for his senior season coming off a record setting campaign in 2023 I'm excited for the challenge I know it's going to be a challenge but I'm ready for it and I know our team is as well so it's going to be a good year for the Tigers hening will leading offense it should be one of the best in the nation Receiver right Taylor had a tremendous impact last year also returning deir blanky [Applause] get him in space and he's a serious threat to any defense on any given play it could be Taylor or blank obsy or tight end Anthony lere making big catches in the end zone I'm expecting uh Anthony uh lere I call him lampshade I'm expecting him to have a big year that guy works harder than you know no offense any but I mean he ain't ever out of this facility he's over there in the jugs catching the ball he's in the hot tub he's in the cold tub he's doing push-ups he's doing something at all times um he's put himself in a position to have himself a big year we got one ball out there we got a lot of people who can who can make plays a lot of people who are good with the ball in their hands as I've said from the get-go it's it's their job as players to prove to us as coaches they deserve to be on the field and it's our job as coaches to find a way to get them on the field and get the ball in their hands where they can maximize their skill set and be successful and you can't forget about kobby Drake he makes plays on offense and on special teams in the backfield this year's running game will feature sudden Smith as South Carolina transfer Mario Anderson he's a bowling ball of a running back who can break tackles and break free H the 30 of Tennessee when you hit him he doesn't go down he has unbelievable balance when he runs he runs with some anger he runs with some physicality he's faster sometimes than what he appears uh we're excited about him uh in that running back room to uh to step into that running back room and and make that run running back room uh a very good group I think they're both extremely running backs I mean literally you can flip a coin and say I mean s has been Dynamic and Mario has been wonderful um and I think that's that's a positive right rounding out the back field senior Brandon Thomas his short yardage role was key last year while the skill players are set you have to talk about the big guys up front the offensive line that's where it all starts this year's line has experience but some new players will have to F key roles of our offense will be the offensive line and people don't know about them but I mean we've got a lot of transfers this season so we expect them to be the gel of our team and and win games for us you know I challenged our offense oh just because you were good last year sethan again that does not mean anything last year stands its own marit your stats all those things and so our guys understand we've got to be better last year was not good enough and there's only one end result and how this can go that we can all leave with a smile on our face um and our guys understand that and it's my job as to to make sure that everybody all 200 people in this organization understand that there's no no W for the weary we got to continue to go out there and work and grind to find ways to be successful and be one and0 today
