not much rain to speak of in the month of August in regions like komok on Vancouver Island recording 7.4 millimeters as of the 20th where your average is 31.2 for this month now that forecast though that's a different story we have an upper level low that's going to track going Southward past the South Coast but then it's going to take a turn and get pushed northward due to some instability in the upper levels now on top of that we've also got a thunderstorm forecast on Wednesday non severe in nature but those main hazards will be large hail heavy rain and strong wind gusts now there's a couple areas of note in particular the island could be getting some stronger thunderstorms heavier pockets of rainfall which could lead to some localized flooding and then as well as through Central regions of the Interior up towards Prince George and even down towards regions like cam loops getting into some uh potential isolated thunderstorms now taking a closer look at the south coast island we're getting heavy rounds of rain uh from Gold River Campbell River comok kind of in the bullseye there and that's where we're going to see those potentially 30 to 50 potentially even 50 plus millimeters of rain now this is going to continue throughout the overnight easing for the Lower Mainland not picking up a whole lot of rain in Vancouver this is going to continue throughout Thursday morning for the island and then that will begin to ease making a nice day on Thursday but it is important to note to drive with caution along the Malad as well as Highway 19 as we do have that threat for localized flooding generally about 30 to 50 millimeters in regions like Port Hardy comok and about 20 to 30 North of Vancouver [Music] [Music]
