leads it such a like cultural Hub there's so much art going on around [Applause] [Music] here of the is so easy to see right I just right it for me despite appearances I Haven got the voice for R&B even though I still in kxp Shing truth of the matter is so easy to see why to Red then why don't I just ride it for me SP the for R even though K Tru of the so easy to see R but appearances The Voice are R even though k [Music] i s i see was like the dad no I knew you were going to say because you really organized and you drive I fulfill the role of The Quiet One yeah I think we take turns yeah I'm I remember going up to my brother's bedroom and I picked up his Jazz base and it really just felt so intuitive to me learning just all about just classic Fender based players just love the look and the classic tones there's loads of like 90s old rock bands I'm like really inspired by who got me like excited about playing guitar with lots of jazz Master players and jagu players Johnny Mah is a big one yeah in terms of like in terms of electric guitars I've never used anything other than a fender in my life I've developed my sound through Fender because that's all I've ever if it ain't broke yeah we've got two sides to our music we've got like the more soft like more ballad type songs and then you've got quite AB braive that Jaguar works really well having one thing that can do all of that and sound good the Precision base especially it's like a watermark it's just a good clean slate to play whatever genre for that song for R&B it's like everything you could want how did R&B come about you wrote the Baseline I was in my room the first bir I had the lyrics in the Baseline I remember as being in your lounge and we kept cuz we didn't have a second section and we like it needs to go somewhere we kept trying out different variations of where different sections go and then when it just clicks when we figured out it should do the thing where it like builds up each time like three times and then drops at the end which just like oh course like yeah I remember I was really excited about that one in terms of discovering our sound I think we are so open to nothing's off the table you know we can that's how that's what I like about us [Music] AA Studios kind of a home from home or even just a place yeah it's like rehearsal space SL Studios flat slage unit yeah it it's very much like for me it's the home of album one singing I met you two like in like 2020 right Louis was in a band with my boyfriend at the time and I stole him that's that's the story leads cuz it's so small we're on the ridge in the suburb of of heading meanwood heading sort of Border goto green spot around here we've all lived in various different houses around here they used to live up the top of that street that's where we wrote all of our like first songs in it in that house that's DP just there just there could see this spot from our bedroom window I got the car two summers ago all of the touring we did with been in that car my car's called Ralph Ral there like all the equipment just packed in on top of us pile everyone in and look for the festivals just pile everything in I think there's so many venues that we could talk about Warf Chambers and mgate mgate especially going to those gigs was like formative gigs wouldn't have been doing half of this when we played here for New Year's Eve it was one of the most fun nights it that I think I've had in L A this is where it happened we I really love really love this room yeah stage looks so much smaller I think it's really funny actually because I feel like the show that we're doing tonight is like a sort of Sil it's like a last minute party celebration thing and I think that that New Year's party that we did in here is a similar kind of vibe isn't it it was like we just wanted to to do something in leads have a party with friends with friends yeah pretty mad how much has happened in the past two years since then I always feel most nervous about these ones me too yeah it's so weird I feel like kind of weirdly the opposite I don't know why if even if it's the most encouraging gig I I still feel the most nervous um with the hometown gigs for some reason I guess it's cuz you know people and it I can't really believe it to be honest that there are fans there are people who queue up for a couple hours come see us it's in it's insane I want them to have had an experience that you can't really get from like just listening to a whole like act of going to a gig it's why I want you to do it when I watch an artist I love to see them feeling the song that's how what creates a moment for me when I go to a gig and so I try and do that in our Stu the amount of shows we've been to here fat family crack Cloud all my favorite bands come here to play the beer's cheap the pool room is vast the decor is beautiful and at the outside bit is just like on literally it's always full a m whenever we play here be nights where it like contextualizes all the stuff that's been going on over the past couple [Music] years Orange [Music] I would really like to go back in time and be able to tell us in that living bre how that all of this stuff would happen cuz I think it would AB I just can't even it seems it seems like another life not a single part of me ever thought he'd be here the easy to I just to me appearences I hav got the RB even though for the show [Music] easy voice for r& [Music] even 10 [Music] [Music] [Music] the please [ __ ] up thanks to for having us and thank for putting this on [Applause]
