my 21st favorite tech fact of all time is in 1997 Apple was out of money about to go bankrupt about to die completely until Microsoft saved them the apple of 1997 is not the Apple we know today they fired Steve Jobs investors were like oh that's not then they started bleeding money nobody wanted to invest and they brought back Steve Jobs and then kept bleeding money it didn't seem to have a clear Direction investors weren't confident but most importantly their product offering was just not great especially compared to Microsoft Microsoft on the other hand was loaded they were doing great but they were doing so great that Regulators started looking at them like yo are are they a monopoli at this point also at this time apple is suing Microsoft for like stealing some features and stuff Microsoft and Apple were technically Rivals but they both had a problem that only the other company could fix Apple needed money and Microsoft needed Regulators to not think they're a monopoly so together they came to a solution Microsoft said Apple we will invest $150 million to keep you guys in business so we don't look like even more of a monopoly also if you drop those stupid lawsuits we will make uh like mac versions of our software and that's what they did so honestly if it wasn't for Microsoft Apple probably wouldn't exist today
