you said that you thought the first two wins were a fluke I think just because I was judging my game post Chevron and I kind of had three weeks in a row and I just kind of felt burnt out and kind of felt kind of like impostor syndrome for a little bit and I just didn't feel like I had it anymore in my game like I really wanted to do well at KPMG and the US Women's Open and for it to be at those two amazing courses and not being able to play the weekend really kind of killed me as we take you out to the 18th and Lily AV Vu from Southern California it has been a mighty struggle for Lilia since she won the Chevron Championship the first major of the Season it was her second win of the year but has not made a cut since then my grandfather was huge to me he's my biggest role model model and forever will be the last time I ever saw him was right when I was playing my worst go ever and I think I mean he's always on the golf course with me I it's even when I get in my own ways on the golf course I'm like oh Grandpa would be upset if you're acting that way because you finally have a chance to play the best golf you've ever played and then you're being a brat and being really ungrateful because a lot of people would love to be in my position so kind of puts it into perspective yes indeed it all comes down to this it's going to be a special Sunday in sor is going to be made this afternoon as the final major champion of 2023 will be Crown I knew I was playing with Charlie and that's somebody that I always wanted to play with cuz she's really entertaining to watch and I think it just felt really comfortable that day I think it just felt like another day and I Cole said I was really nervous but I don't think I was until the approacha of 18 but he knew I was nervous because on the third hole I just kept talking about Taylor Swift and the song that was stuck in my head and so yeah I mean I think that song also helped me stay calm too whenever I think back to the open I think of my second hole of the final round it was because it's a really long hole but you can't hit driver so I hit my one hybrid which replaces a three-wood and then hit another one hybrid onto the green to maybe like 12 ft and I made it and it was a birdie but I swear to God it felt like an eagle and I think that changed I think that really kickstarted the whole round for me got you hold theart yep that was never missing and it's Lilia Vu the first to double digits in the AIG Women's Open what brings out the best in me is that it's super difficult for everyone you got to go from point A to point B and once you get there you go to the next spot and then you keep going and and I think it just narrows it down for me I don't I'm not thinking about oh the next hole is a driveable par 4 like I'm too overeager for the next hole I feel like sometimes so this one kind of just be where your feet are at Tope a gol again right in the middle no problem whatsoever call as a cucumber Lilia vot going down the 72 hole at Walton Heath oh the left got that is a quick pickup of the tea there she is just ready to hoist that Trophy and look at this that drive is just chasing down that final birdie putt how surprised were you to see that putt go in you looked shocked I think I keep kept saying that I didn't hit that putt Cole Hit That putt because I was so nervous on my Approach shot I was scared I wasn't even going to hit the green it was only like 105 yards and kind of pulled it a little bit and I was lining off the Putt and I said Cole I don't know where this is going you have to tell me what what's happening he's like oh it's a little bit right to left I think it's just outside right and I hit the Putt and it went in and I couldn't believe it because Charlie had just had her moment making a really long putt for up and down and then I me making that to Birdie the whole was just like crazy and I thought it was just such a super fun round in a way to end the open she's on top of the world at Walton Heath she is the AIG Women's Open champion and a two-time major champion in 2023 it's the Stars and Stripes that have shown the brightest here in England today this has been such a special year for you you picked up your first Victory on the lpj tour you won your first major championship the Chevron and now this a two-time major champion in the very same year can you quite believe that I can't just given after the Chevron and just how I felt afterwards and just honestly thinking that those two winds were a fluke and just to be here today I can't thank my team and my family enough for really believing in me and it was just really hard for the past couple months and then somehow they believed in me and helped me get this win here this season has kind of exceeded my expectation to be honest I just really had to sit down and re-evaluate the way I was looking at golf and I was kind of putting too much pressure on myself and as as long as I put myself in contention on the weekend I would say I'm a pretty good spot to win I'm Lilia Vu and I am a AIG Women's Open champion but
