well first of all I want to thank you for waiting for me to get back so that I had the chance to call that for you but uh outstanding tonight what does it mean for you to now be the all-time leader in home runs for the Padres I mean it feels great honestly um you know special moment uh you know to just to be uh you know honored and and be something in uh in the record books of San Diego for the rest of my career and the rest of you know my rest of the baseball career so uh I'm just grateful to uh you know hit as many as I could and um you know an impact on this on this organization in any a way I could Manny go back to that at bat because I'll tell you quite frankly you battled for this one I mean I'm going to stick up for you that slider was off the plate you had a legitimate gripe and then you had to battle you threw your slider foul ball foul ball and then you hung in there man that was quite a that bat how do you let something like that just slide and get get it erased from your mind I mean just uh you got to go on to the next pitch you know I've been in a situation even like last uh couple days ago um you know I let one pitch ruin that bad for me and uh you know this year just uh just let it slide you know just uh Turn the Page you know they they're humans and they make mistakes as well and um you know he made me a best a pitch and he kept kept going down there so I just kept trying to F it off I knew eventually he was going to come back to the heater at some point um you know I was going to be ready for it we were looking at your first home run in a padr uniform you were wearing blue and white at that point which was blue pods the blue pods which was kind of strange but I mean is this gone by pretty quickly for you during this stretch or not really it really has I mean uh when when you have such a good group um you know I've been fortunate to have almost almost the same guys that that that I play with my first year here almost all here some of them are are are gone but um you know it's it's it's fun man when we come out to the ballpark every single day and we we perform we play We enjoy putting on this uniform we enjoy playing in front of our great fans in San Diego and um you know anytime uh you know you go out here and you're playing on this field it's it's it's a beautiful night Manny a personal question if you will you and your lovely bride have brought life into the world this year what has that done for Manny Machado not only as a human being as a father but as a baseball player you know what honestly uh you know it's it's been great you know um even 0 for four four for four I know with Kobe I used to do the same thing and now with my son um you know it's just great to go home and just be happy when he smiles at you but uh honestly the biggest thing is just you just not a car you just go out there and just have fun um you know baseball's fun now you know pitches like that you just don't don't don't really uh you know put any mind into it you just go out there and just go to the next one and and just enjoy the game um you know and then honestly with the group of guys that we have here this year man it's been fun coming to the ballpark every single day we're a family out here um you know so everyone when we're here we're all getting together we're all messing around we're all having a good time to we're during the football around the pregame um you know it's just been a blast coming to the field every single day it's amazing to me too these fans standing in front of you I have never seen this many fans in Seattle for the Padres this is great I mean we've been we've been drawing great great crowds all all year around and um you know San Diego's been one of the best cities so far this year at home we've been setting our rec records and even on the road look how many guys are coming out here supporting the you know the brown and yellow so um it's been fun all year so hopefully we keep this going well it is a great time to be part of the faithful congratulations my friend thank you appreciate thanks Manny congrats
