So the commanders are back at practice after a five day break and you know, it, the official television station of the burgundy and Gold, we are getting you ready for week one, just like your favorite players are. That's right. The 2024 NFL regular season, it's finally here. And this weekend the team will be traveling to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. All right. So some big news coming out of Commanders Park regarding one of their top offensive linemen this afternoon, our team is out there chick Hernandez, John Durant as well. What's happening? It's been busy. Uh Yeah, busy and uh by the way, just for, for, you know, for your edification, um A lot of NATS right now and I have not eaten one which is good so far. Uh look very big news as they get ready for the Tip Buccaneers. It's huge news for Sam Cosby, a guy who's so well liked and you could tell that from the guys in the locker room and a total leader, not just on the offensive line but on the watch, Commander, Sam Cosby telling us this afternoon, he signed a four year extension with the team. He had his wife, his daughter in the house for the big news because it really is. I mean, it is a life changing deal that he just inked today. Even getting a little emotional talking with us this afternoon with the Washington Commanders. Looking forward to having Cosby anchor that offensive line for at least the next five seasons. Cosby played tackle his first two seasons in the NFL before he made the switch to guard just last year. A move Dan Quinn said, unlocked something in him. Cosby told us the ball didn't really get rolling on this new deal until a few weeks ago. He's thankful to be considered a piece of the foundation for the future of this franchise. They were fortunate enough to see me as a building block for this new regime to, to, to go forward and, you know, I'm the first one to get extended and, you know, I take, uh, uh, you know, I, I find that as a privilege and, and, you know, honor to, to be that first guy. It's awesome. It's really cool because that's, you don't play the game for this, but when you are able to play this game at a high level and put your family in that type of situation, it's really cool for, um, Adam and his staff to get that done prior to the season. That's a big deal. And, uh, this guy is a commander, you know, through and through. He's tough. He plays square, he's strong and we're really, you know, are fortunate that he'll be an anchor inside, you know, for years to come. Yeah, Cosby again, emotional. He said he's first generation American. His parents came here with, he said, clothes on his back and a backpack. So to get this deal done, especially before the start of the season. Huge for his entire family. Congratulations to the Cosme and he's going to look forward to blocking one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. And he said he's, he's a special dude as everybody in that locker room said that Jayden Daniels is a special dude. Very busy weekend for Jayden Daniels. He was uh back watching us c take on his alma mater. LSU said it's kind of cool me back and see though he felt like he was weird not being in college, but now he gets ready for his first professional game and one of the guys that can help him, there's no nobody better to be alongside Jayden Daniels than Marcus Marria as the backup quarterback for the Washington Commanders. Marcus Marria, here's a guy who's been in the league nine years. He has faced Todd Bowles, the Tampa Bay head coach many, many times during his career. So Jay Daniels while being QB one is also playing the part of a sponge this week, man. I'm leaning on Marcus A ton. Um, he's in the same position as me. Um you know, he played Todd Bows numerous times. Uh So obviously he has a lot of knowledge of, of, you know, this is what you can expect. Um Obviously, we, everybody talks about the blitzes. Obviously, we're gonna expect some type of blitz, but his main message to me is man, just go out there and have fun. Um Don't put too much stress into it, go out there and play football. Um I've been playing my whole life that is uh Jaden Daniels getting ready for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for John Duran Hernandez. The nats are flying. It's a very sunny day uh but very cool out here, very relaxed. So far things are starting to start to amp up here as we get closer to Sunday guys. I mean, you can feel the energy, especially with Cosme everything that came with that. How excited everyone is. Wait. So they head to Tampa win Chick John. So they will uh take off, they'll have practice here on Friday and then they will arrive on Saturday as will I in Tampa Bay and then get ready for the game on Sunday. It's a 405 start. So in the afternoon, but of course, we have our, our pregame show at 1130. Well, wait, well, actually, Wisdom Martin's gonna go to sleep in the morning and then take a nap and another nap and then be ready for the 1130 show. All right. Yeah.
