what's going on guys welcome in to another episode of the chief Stone podcast I am farzine V suian your host of the chief Stone podcast back at it again yes we are back no red Friday live chat last week can't remember exactly what was the last time we did a podcast but a lot has happened since then nonetheless I appreciate all of you guys' patience welcome back in to another episode of the chief Z podcast and yes it is now time for the preseason games finally yes finally we've got the preseason games uh I've got the uh Patriots game on right now on my phone uh if the uh if the connection will stay on there yeah there we go um that is almost at halftime as I record and do this live and I believe the Giants are putting on a bit of a beating on the Lions not that it matters in the long run because it is the preseason but hey it's football you like to watch it and no we're definitely going to be talking some Chiefs preseason as they've got their first game in less than 48 less than 48 hours that we are getting close yes we are getting close to Chiefs preseason football so very excited to talk about that on this podcast on the docket for this podcast the Chiefs extending Harrison bucker making him the highest pay kicker in NFL history that's one big contract down they've still got a few more to go the atletics Nate Taylor reported the Chiefs are working very hard to extend a couple of more players within the next month we'll talk about those guys and whether or not there's a realistic shot at that happening John Gruden is that Chiefs what John freaking Gruden is that Chiefs training Kip in Chiefs gear I mean what in the hell I did not have this on my bingo card for 2024 but yeah John guden is uh is there Rashi rice uh spoke to the media uh in a in a press conference setting for the first time this offseason obviously talking about what happened uh Patrick Mahomes on the NFL top 100 list I've yet to do a podcast talking about this so I definitely need to respond to that Nick fold retired and a whole lot more here on this episode of the chief Stone podcast excited to have you guys on I see a lot of you guys entering the chat welcome and please let me know what's going on uh in your world what's on your mind let's talk I want to hear from you guys in fact I forgot to set this up before I went live but we can do this now you guys can call into the podcast all you have to do is click that link right there that I just commented with so call into the podcast let me know your thoughts if you guys want to uh chat it up want to do a video call either one of those works for me so call into the podcast or uh comment below as we go on throughout the night I want to get your guys' thoughts on everything we discuss as we go on uh before I go any further I was in Las Vegas if you guys saw my social media appreciate all the uh likes and shares on that uh Not only was I in Las Vegas I was inside Arrowhead West and uh got to uh spend a little bit of time in the um in the locker room the same locker room where the Kansas City Chiefs had all kinds of champagne to celebrate their Super Bowl 58 win this got a lot of reactions from Raiders fans on the Internet thanks Raiders fans appreciate you guys uh adding to the engagement was not actually trying to do that I was actually trying to get more cheese fans to react to that but no you guys took care of that for me so thank you um yeah I think it's hilarious uh Raiders fans always Flex with well at least we host Super Bowls well well I would not expect any kind of any different kind of response from Good Old Raider nation has I mean you guys haven't seen a Super Bowl in 40 years Raiders fans love to remind Chiefs fans here's what's so funny about Raiders fans four three four years ago they were bragging about how they have three Super Bowl wins and the Chiefs have one and then when the Chiefs got their second oh we still have more and now that the Chiefs have four they can't do that anymore so what do they uh backpedal to oh it's been 50 it was 50 years well the Raiders are they haven't won a a playoff game in 21 years haven't won a Super Bowl in 40 years it's not really that much better than 50 okay so and by the way Antonio Pierce is not your solution you're going to see that this year and I'm going to be the one who says I told you so just like the 2022 season when I Told You So how that season was going to go I was right you guys are all wrong about that um so yeah oh and by the way I'll just get this out of the way right now uh I don't care if they bring in guden in as the water boy hire him Chris says you know what's really funny is Raiders fans are really up in arms about this John guden thing um by the way I always um say things like this and people say oh farzine you're making [ __ ] up no one ever said this so you know because I I get accused of lying and making things up I kind of have to uh be explanatory I don't want to say defensive uh you can call it that if you want uh but when you guys accuse me not all of you but some of you accuse me of lying and making up narrative that are out there well there's this thing out there called screenshots and right there and by the way in the post to this exact photo you see here in the comments I put a link where you can find all of those responses there there was a Raiders fan that put out a clip of John guden in Chief's training camp in Chief's gear and these were all the responses here the one on the bottom left from Mando delmare Marcus Allen Vibes here's another funny one from Ken Himel on the bottom right there says always knew he was a fraud this is always my favorite they missed John Gruden they they thought it was a mistake to get rid of John Gruden because he was gradually kind of putting them on the right track he kind of was but then all of a sudden when he goes to your oh was a fraud I never like he was never good to begin with you didn't have that opinion a week ago before he went to the Chiefs but now you have that opinion suddenly because you see him in Chief's gear uh over um uh away from uh that unfortunate uh franchise called the Las Vegas Raiders Jagger Drury says he just burned his once a Raider always a Raider privilege uh Jagger Drury the Raiders forced him to resign now I don't agree with what John gudy did I think he kind of deserved what was coming to him he should have suffered the consequences for it and he's been away from football for quite some time now and Andy Reid I mean that guy they go way back uh in the mid 9s uh in Green Bay so yeah it makes sense that Andy Reed's giving him an opportunity I know he's already had one with the New Orleans Saints as a consultant I believe now here's the thing we do not know exactly and Andy Reed's been asked about this a couple of times that has not given the Chiefs any kind of straight answer whatsoever I don't know if John Gruden is there you know for a short-term deal uh but he has been sitting in on the meeting there is no official award like he doesn't have an official title with the Chiefs at least not yet uh but John guden has been over there in Chiefs training camp he's been sitting on the meetings uh offense defense and special teams meetings he's been talking to a lot of the players on the field and uh he does have uh something a sheet in his pocket I don't it could be a roster because he's new to the team and may not know everyone so if he sees you know 56 and he may not know who 56 is off the top of his head he looks at his play oh that's carlus so he goes over to to say something to um to Carl lus um and and discusses whatever he needs to discuss with him so uh I listen I'll I'll just say this I it's never a bad thing you know what I always find very interesting when you have a former head coach and I don't care if this head coach was bad um unless it's someone like Hugh Jackson um when you have a former head coach as your assistant coach whether it's as a as a coordinator or as a positions coach um or maybe possibly as a consultant or or an advisor like John guden might be here that can be very beneficial look at the chief staff right now they have Andy Reid he was once fired before uh you have uh Steve spagnolo he was once a head coach you have um I was about to say Doug Peterson um you have Matt naggie he was also a former head coach I actually won coach of the year at one point um wasn't really his fault that the front office in Chicago sucked and did naggi absolutely no favors but they did uh have some success with naggie at one point that led him to get coach of the year so when you have all of those former head coaches on your team as assistant coaches obviously naggie back in Kansas City now that can really go a long way and now you have John Gruden again we don't know his his specific role with the Chiefs just yet but John guden is on your staff as a member of the coaching staff or advisor consultant whatever ever it might be I think all that does is help the team all it does is help the team and for anyone that want say oh he's a distraction with it was a couple of years ago if there's any here's the one thing I've learned about the Chiefs over the years with Andy Reid whatever Andy Reid does everyone Buys in they don't question what Andy Reid does they might you know kind of disagree with certain play calls that happen during a game we've certainly had that discussion many times on this podcast over the years but no one is ever going to question what decision Andy Reid wants to make so if Andy Reid wants to bring John guden in I guarantee you all of the 91 players over there in St Joe practicing and some of them obviously fighting for a roster spot they're not going to question it they're going to buy in and they're going to take as much information as they can when and if John guden never approaches them and apparently he's been doing some of that while in St Joe he's been sitting in all the team meetings so far so it's not like guden is um is just there to hang out people thought that this is just some sort of a visit I kind of believe that for the first day but when he's wearing the same gear as the assistant coaches then my question was okay why is he wearing the same thing as the coaching staff Andy kind of wears his own thing um I actually have the um the outfit that the Chiefs uh coaches have there's a long sleeve version of it and a short sleeve version but everyone I mean he's been there for a while now so obviously this is not a visit and if it is it might be the longest and lengthiest training camp visit in history but he's there as some kind of assistant or or a consultant we don't know exactly what I would imagine there's going to be an official statement or um announcement of some sort soon but I like it I think it's great to have John guden on the STA it's just another big name on your coaching sta that's going to try to help you three repeat and obviously guden has not won a championship in a very long time so where else better than Kansas City yeah might as well might as well do it in Kansas City so I like it I I'm glad to see John Gruden over at Chief's training camp um I do want to go and discuss Harrison bucker now as he is now the highest paid kicker in NFL history he signed a four-year extension keep in mind he had one year left in his contract and they added four more years to that so you have five five more years of Harrison bucker who right now is the most accurate kicker in the NFL he's the second most accurate kicker in NFL history trailing Justin Tucker by 1.1% and obviously that number went up this year because bucker uh when it came to his P now when it comes to uh field goal percentage they only do the field goals they don't do the Pats those don't count but bucker did not miss a single P all year he only missed two kicks and and they happened in back toback weeks in weeks 15 and 16 that's when um those two misses happened and one of them was allegedly deflated so I mean neither here nor there but Harrison bucker had a hell of a year he really did obviously the year before was kind of a tough one for him dealing with some of the injuries that uh dealt with the ankle injury in week one couldn't really recover from that but still came through and made the game-winning field goal in the AFC title game against the Bengals uh which nothing easy about that one given the length of that one even after that uh penalty on Joseph wasai still a long field goal the cold but still able to connect on that one and then a week later or two weeks later rather in Super Bowl 57 did miss a field goal early in the game but uh with less than uh 15 seconds ago goes out there kicks a game-winning field goal it was a chip shot field goal but man you it could be as close as possible and there's nothing easy about that with the super roll on the line tied up you go out there and you kick the game-winning field goal uh in a season where he kind of struggled because of that ankle injury and then a year later in Super Bowl 58 given that things were not going very well for the Chiefs in that game and really all season long Harris bucker came through again uh making the game tying field goal to send the game into overtime only the second time in NFL history the Super Bowl went into overtime he was perfect all po season long obviously had a tremendous regular season and we all know the offense uh was not uh the offense that we all know in love with the Kan City Chiefs so uh when they struggled what happened they came through um Harris and bucker came through uh putting the points on the board that were missing and uh there were a couple of significant games the Cincinnati game was a huge one especially when that was the game that punch your ticket to the playoffs and winning the AFC West and eliminating the Cincinnati Bengals which is always good to do second year in a row the Chiefs eliminated the Bengals from uh essentially ending their season uh which is always a good thing this is great I'm glad Harrison bucker uh got this contract they need this Andy reset it happy for him and for the franchise uh Perfect Situation he's been great for the Chiefs and why not extend this guy uh especially when you you're involved in so many close games like the Chiefs have been uh in the postseason and this year in the regular season and a lot of their playoff games not just this postseason and all the postseason games uh yeah you're you're going to need a guy like Harrison bucker to continue to do his thing and having him on your team is certainly better than having him on another uh one of the other 31 NFL teams for sure I I if all of the NFL kickers were cut today hypothetically speaking I I mean every single team would be reaching out to Harrison Bucker and his agent uh I I don't even know if I should say his agent because he actually negot negotiated this deal himself uh I know Lamar Jackson did something similar with the Ravens so uh that is certainly good to hear um Harrison bucker did do a press conference on Wednesday yes they did discuss the speech um listen I'll get into that in a moment but uh he talked about you know just kind of reflecting with um with his uh success that he's had over the years if you guys remember with Harrison bucker he came into Kansas City kind of in a weird time it was like week four or week five against the Washington Redskins now the Anders and he was they actually claimed him off uh Carolina's practice squad and I think Carolina certainly regrets that given what kind of a career Harrison bucker has now uh bucker actually made the game-winning field goal um on Monday night football against Washington now if you look at the score it was not a three-point game because on the final play of the game Washington they were lateraling and the Chiefs picked it up and ran it all the way back for a touchdown and if I recall they didn't even bother kicking the P because it had absolutely no impact on the game so uh they didn't even bother even attempting that um either they didn't attempt it or they just went for a QB Neel I I don't remember exactly how it was that was back in 2017 the same year they drafted Patrick Mahomes um so I mean the Chiefs drafted Patrick Mahomes that year they drafted Kareem hunt they got Harrison bucker off Carolina's practice squad I know Kem Hunt's no longer on the team but man uh that rookie class the Chiefs had uh in 2017 uh not too bad pretty safe to say that's a pretty damn good draft class the Chiefs have had and the Chiefs have had even better draft classes even after that so uh you know this front office knows what they're doing when it comes to scouting guys and going out there and bringing in the best players possible uh bucker did talk about uh he was asked about a lot of things he was asked about the uh situation involving BJ Thompson the rookie uh not rookie but uh who they drafted last year uh I believe in the fifth round um don't quote me on that but uh talk about that situation when he had a seizure where he was what he his reaction was he heard a noise he felt a kick on his chair and that's when he uh felt the need to go out there and go get the uh training staff and thankfully they all responded great he mentioned that Rick Burkholder um I'm sorry Brook holder um James Winchester is what I meant to say um triman Jones who uh has medical uh degree and some experience there um they uh they were helping him uh so he praise those guys uh for contributing and doing all that which is great to to to see and obviously BJ was at the ring ceremony so everyone was very happy to see him there uh buer was asked about the whole commencement speech that happened in um in may let me just say this because a lot of people are asking why is this being brought up now I told you guys this back in May I said Harrison bucker is gonna be held off from doing media for a long time and it's going to be brought up in training camp and people are going to ask why is this brought up now did I not tell you guys it was going to happen exactly like that I kind of fult the Chiefs for that because if you just let Harrison speak shortly after that it could have been over with done there after uh in late May or early June uh but instead they I don't waited out a long time and you had Mahomes and Reed I thought it was honestly a bad job by the chief's PR staff um let me just say this about bucker because I thought bucker was very professional and very respectful to the media and I thought the media was pretty fair about it too um there was no back and forth you know combative uh verbal uh sparring going on none of that stuff I thought it was going to be like that it was not at all it was kind of um kind of like a productive conversation sort of now they didn't get to address everything in that speech um and if they did it would have been a very long press conference listen bucker just simply said he stands by everything he said um but did not mean to uh belittle women or anybody in in that manner you know what I liked about his press conference he said that even if you disagree with me I still love you man that's that's how I am man like as long as you're not in favor of bad things like you know violence and um hurting innocent people then yeah we I I me personally I can find a way to coexist with anyone not everyone can and I just don't know at the end of the day um you know how we can get to that point but listen uh he addressed it I thought he did it in a very professional manner uh he gave here's what I said I I said this back then I did not think bucker needed to apologize I not at all I don't think he needed to regret anything what I did say is I think he needed to provide clarification on his comments and he did exactly that um I already posted about it so if you guys have didn't um see that go check it out um he I mean he had a lot to say they did address a lot not everything was addressed but um he explained himself provided clarification and uh yeah I think we can go ahead and close the book on all of that uh now that it's been out there and he gave his response to all of that uh now with Harrison Buck's contract down and signed Chiefs have some work to do they're not quite done on that front yet uh Nate Taylor of the athletic reported earlier this week that the Chiefs are having conversations with Senator Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith uh the right guard for the Chiefs and are hoping to have them signed within the next month essentially right before the season season opener against the Baltimore Ravens uh are the Chiefs going to be able to pull this off can they sign CED Humphrey and Trey Smith before the season opener and I'm not 100% sure if I feel that right now I don't know if if the Chiefs are going to be able to pull that out maybe they can get CED Humphrey I don't know about I don't know about uh Trey Smith let's look at the guard Mar because I mentioned this before the guard Market skyrocketed this offseason and that's pretty terrible news if you're a Kan City Chiefs fan because uh that uh that basically hurts your chances of trying to keep a guy like Trey Smith look at Robert hunt um with Carolina 27 years old uh side his uh contract this offseason and it's a fiveyear $100 million deal annual average salary is $20 million another contract signed this offseason Landon Dickerson with the Eagles uh it's a four-year deal worth $84 million so that's $21 million per year on average Joe tonei um signed his deal in 2021 just for reference he signed a fiveyear $80 million year it's $16 million a year there's some speculation that he might um this might be his final year with the Chiefs especially if there's one more injury I can certainly see that uh I would not want Joe tuni gone he turns 32 in mid November U if he's still playing at a high level man I don't care how old he is keep him on the team uh you need a guy like Joe tonei who might be one of the best interior offensive linemen in the NFL right now uh if you look at other interior uh offensive lineman signings specifically at offensive guard Quinn manerz of the Broncos signed a four-year deal worth $72 million that's $18 million per year um the guard Market went up it went up uh now let's look at the center position here and look at some uh signings from this year you had Lloyd cushenberry of the Titans signed a four-year deal worth $50 million that's 122 a half million a year another deal this offseason Tyler bz of the Washington Commander signed a three-year deal worth a little more than $29 million that is at 9.75 million per year on average uh the Raiders signed Andre James uh 2 years old a three-year deal worth $24 million that's $8 million a year I'm trying to see if I can find one more here Aaron Brewer of the Dolphins uh signed a three-year deal $21 million $7 million per year so the center uh the market for the center position not as bad as it is with the um with the guard position so when you look at the Chiefs right now and what they have to do and by the way let me just go back because what were we talking about 300 65 days ago Chris Jones can the Chiefs keep Chris Jones realistically can they sign him to a long-term deal and be able to afford Creed Humphrey and uh Trey Smith by the way I see the comment from Kyle about Nick Bolton I'll get to Nick Bolton in a second here let's just stick with the two offensive linemen because protecting your franchise quarterback is important if you have Patrick Mahomes but you don't have an offensive line Patrick Mahomes is useless we saw that in a very unfortunate game called Super Bowl 55 that I know a lot of us don't want to remember and want it erase from our memories but for the sake of this franchise man Super Bowl 55 I I I still think holds a very important reminder to not just the Chiefs but I guess everybody that look doesn't matter how great your quarterback is and Mahomes was hitting his receivers in the hands in the end zone wasn't his fault that no one could block and no one could catch in that game but you still I mean if the Chiefs had good pass protection in that game maybe that game goes a little bit more differently who knows maybe we can discuss that in an alternate universe but you got to have the right offensive line because that's who the Chiefs went and got after Super Bowl 55 they went and got Creed Humphrey they went and got Trey Smith got a little lucky that Trey Smith felt all the way to the sixth round and they not knowing what he would turn into um they drafted a couple of offensive linemen in this year's draft they got Kingsley s TAA uh not an interior offensive lineman but still one of the guys who you got one of the offensive lineman you got in this draft got CJ Hansen you got Hunter NORAD interior offensive lineman on day three that you think is going to be part of your future if Creed Humphrey and or Trey Smith is not going to be available for you in um in 2025 and Beyond so those are certainly one of those situations where um if you're the Chiefs uh you gotta you got to prioritize certain positions and what I said last year was if you're going to get Chris Jones and he wants a record-breaking deal which he got this off season I think that's great for the defense especially with the type of season season the the defense had but can you go out there and secure long-term deals with CED Humphrey and Trey Smith because I'll tell you right now Trey Smith has not taking a team-friendly deal I hope I'm wrong but he's not doing that this guy was a sixth round pick he's not making a lot of money right now he's not I know he's doing some sponsorships with um I don't know what barbecue it is that he and cedre are doing I think he's got one more sponsorship out there that's it we all know offensive lineman don't get a lot of sponsorships so when you have a guy like Trey Smith that's been successful during his time in Kansas City winning a couple of Super Bowls being one of the best guards in the NFL during his time so far yeah he's gonna probably land a couple of endorsements that's just the way things work but he's not making a lot of money in general so he's definitely looking to hit the bank this offseason especially with how big the guard Market went up this offseason bad news for Kansas City uh Creed Humphrey the Center Market is not as bad um right now it's not so this is the perfect time it's August 8th right now within the next month before you kick off the season season against Baltimore you got to find a way to lock up Creed Humphrey gotta do it because if you three repeat and get another championship and Creed Humphrey has another phenomenal season he's going to be in the driver seat to demand a lot of money in the off seon uh maybe Creed and his agent are going to decide to just wait it out so they can try to get more money in the off season maybe they're going to try to do it right now and secure the bag which you know there's logic in both of those uh ways if you're um if you're confident in your abilities and you think you're going to have another great season and help lead your team to a another Super Bowl win yeah maybe writing it out on the final deal of your deal of your contract is a good idea Creed Humphrey was a second round pick so he's not making a lot of money either compared to other NFL players so maybe it's a situation for him where he says look I kind of want the money right now I I want a new deal right now moving forward um and try to secure the bag for the next four to five years during his time in Kansas City there's C certainly some logic to that but given that you gave the money to Chris Jones you're not going to be able to keep everybody uh Kyle you're mentioning uh Willie gay uh leaving and possibly Nick Bolton um yeah I mean here's the other thing Nick Bolton's another guy you got to think about too Nick Bolton is considered one of the better linebackers in the NFL right now but again can you keep every I've said this for a long time man the Chiefs are doing a fantastic job of drafting players great players and it's a great problem to have I mean these are problems that the Patriots would love to have the Patriots used to be that team that succeeded in finding gems in later rounds um not just the first round not just the second round in later rounds uh SE Seattle Seahawks did that for a couple of years where they were finding all these great players outside of the first round um I think the Eagles have done a little bit of that as well but no one's done it as well as the Chiefs in recent years where you're getting all these bigname players they're making big contributions to the team some of them even all pro pro bowl selections um and they're helping you win championship so this is kind of a situation where right now if you're the Chiefs you got to prioritize who you want you obviously prioritize Harrison bucker first little easier because kickers are not as expensive um but man uh after that who's next I think Creed Humphrey is next um yeah I see a lot of you guys talking about Creed Humphrey Matthew Elena in the chat I think Creed Humphrey is stay Creed Humphrey will state there's no I know um Tim grard former Senator he mentioned that the Chiefs don't have a good history of keeping centered and he is right about that because if you recall the Chiefs had Rodney Hudson uh he was a pretty good interior offensive lineman played some guard and some Center but he moved on he moved on to Arizona and then the Raiders or maybe it was the other way around the Raiders first and then Arizona next um but the Chiefs chose not to keep him they went and got Mitch moris uh from missou Mitch moris was originally drafted out an offensive tackle uh but he converted to Center and was a phenomenal Center his entire time he went over to Buffalo he got the highest paid uh contract for a center in NFL history unfortunately did not uh pan out very well the rest of his time there but uh that is um that is kind of the way things panned out the Chiefs chose not to keep uh Mitch moris and he went on to have success elsewhere um I'm trying to think there's another offensive lineman that I'm forgetting who else at the Chiefs draft or maybe I'm thinking of CED Humphrey who you know we we don't know exactly what's going to happen with him yet but that's another and by the way the Chiefs have kind of done a really good job of drafting offensive lineman in later rounds under Andy Reid um so I'm just just looking at the uh history right now Zack Fon was a six round pick uh luron du tardiff also a sixr pick the same year and those guys actually start a lot of games for Kansas City ldt was you know a great very underrated guard actually I know a lot of people know uh him for what he's done off the field then on the field uh but very underrated offensive lineman for sure uh I'm trying to think obviously Mitch Morris they drafted in 2015 2016 drafted Parker andar that didn't really pan out that was the only offensive lineman they drafted that year uh same year they drafted Tyreek Hill same year they drafted Kevin Hogan the last quarterback they drafted before Patrick mahom uh 2017 they did not draft an offensive lineman that year 2018 they didn't draft an offensive wow two years in a row the Chiefs did not draft an offensive lineman interesting I didn't realize that um oh well there was khil McKenzie because if I'm not mistaken they converted him from defense to offense they did the same thing with tront Smith uh Nick alag gry yeah that's who they drafted in 2019 in the um seventh round he ended up being a huge for the Chiefs just this past postseason filling in for Joe tuni uh Lucas neang I know he hasn't played a whole lot outside of his rookie year in 2021 drafted in 2020 did but played in 21 um looked good at right tackle up until his injury uh Humphrey and Trey Smith uh both late uh outside of the first round Trey Smith was a late round draft pick and has been great for the Chiefs uh obviously uh in 2022 they had Daren Canard he's no longer on the team but they didn't really have much use for him uh last year's draft they had Wan Morris he's obviously competing for a roster spot and then you look at this year's draft they have three offensive lineman Kingsley soam TAA Hunter NORAD in the fifth round and CJ Hansen in the seventh round so it's going to be very interesting to see what the Chiefs want to do with those three offensive linemen because there's a very good chance that two of those three could be a big part of your future moving forward with King Le suam TAA and I really like Hunter NORAD um and I think CJ Hansen's good too uh they had some success at Holy Cross with that offense um I actually wanted Jaylen Coker the wide receiver for Holy Cross but man evidently none of the NFL teams do he got drafted in the um the XFL or whatever whatever uh uh League that that's called now um no the Chiefs didn't draft jwan Taylor Kyle but they uh they got him from the Jaguars that contract's not looking so good I I I know he was picked on a little more than he really should have been with the whole penalty thing because the Chiefs put in a backup to do the same thing and they did not penalize that guy but they penalized Jan Taylor for it uh pass blocking not bad he's got some penalties yeah he's got to improve upon so the pass blocking win rates he did win but some he looked really terrible in some games so he's got to be better about that yeah Eric Fischer was a first-rounder I do remember that um yeah I don't know what what's gonna happen with the Chiefs moving forward uh I do think Creed Humphrey will sign will say I don't know when I don't know if it's going to be within the next month I don't know if it's going to be this offseason but I I I I'm certain they'll keep him I would be shocked if they let Creed Humphrey walk 100% shocked um it would not surprise me if they resigned Creed and they franchise tagged Trey Smith now that's going to be a [ __ ] ton of money still but if you want to find a way to try to keep your offensive lineman together for one more year after 2024 I I suppose that's one way of going about it but I don't know if the Chiefs can afford that because Jawan Taylor his contract doesn't really kick in until this year 2024 and 2025 obviously Chris Jones is your highest paid uh defensive tackle uh in NFL history uh bucker yeah is just a kicker but still he's the highest paid at that position to you're you're paying a lot of guys right now Travis Kelce just got a a raise good luck good luck if you're uh Brett V and again you know it's a great problem to have it's not Brett V's fault that this team keeps finding and drafting great players I mean that's that that that's where the problem is you keep drafting great players and listen Maybe you keep relying on the fact that you're front office you're you're your scouting department is very good at finding guys in the draft maybe that's what you do maybe you do keep Creed and maybe you do let Trey Smith walk and say Trey we appreciate your service you did nothing but Maul defensive players and kick ass for a lot of years and protect the goat the the baby goat but we drafted Kingsley we drafted Hunter NORAD we drafted CJ Hansen we we're pretty confident with those guys mov moving forward I I think the Chiefs see something in NORAD and um who's the other guy I just mentioned Hansen I think they see something in those two guys and that's why they drafted them and they think they're going to be a big part of the future um I don't know maybe near future maybe in a couple of years we don't know but I think the Chiefs see an opportunity for those guys to be a big part of the team I I'll say this right now I do think Nick Bolton is the odd man out I do not because I hate Nick Bolton not at all I mean I don't know who hates Nick Bolton that's a silly thing to say if you're a Chiefs fan uh I don't care if you're a KU guy like me I mean you need a guy like Nick Bolton on your team but what's more important right now the the protecting your quarterback or having a great linebacker unfortunately for Nick Bolton protecting your quarterback becomes a priority especially when Drew tranquil signed a very team-friendly three-year deal I think it was like18 or1 199 million uh a massive steal for the Chiefs so by the way if rashy rice continues to play well I we know he's going to get suspended at some point but if he continues to play well um in the games that he's available if Xavier worthy another wide receiver who you've drafted recently plays really well you're going to to think about extending those guys too in the future um unless you're confident in letting them walk and continuing to draft guys uh as well as you have like the Chiefs have I don't know what the Chiefs are going to do this is GNA be a very interesting 12 months I'll say this right now if the Chiefs do three repeat does losing Trey Smith become a little easier it's like you know what you threee you you you did something you've never done before you can lose some players and kind of deal with maybe not winning a Super Bowl for a little bit not saying no one doesn't not want to win a Super Bowl of course everyone wants to win but uh you can't win them all um and if you three repeat well guess what all the players that become free agents for the Chiefs they're all gonna want a [ __ ] ton of money Justin Reed Trey Smith Nick Bolton all of them they're gonna want a lot of money um so we'll have to see how the Chiefs want to handle that in the uh next uh 30 days and also in the next 12 months that's going to be very interesting uh speaking of rash rice I just mentioned his name he spoke to the media um in a press conference setting for the first time he's done some interview not some done a little bit of interviews uh this offseason uh but he did talk about the incidents that he was involved in and specifically the car accident in uh Dallas where he and his friends were racing with fancy cars and caused a six vehicle crash um rice did say that he's trying to surround himself with the right people he also praised Patrick Mahomes and credited him saying that Mahomes has been a big mentor to him and that Mahomes has always answered the phone whenever rice uh needed to talk to him I sure as hell hope so because what were people saying about Kareem hunt they're saying that he's got to stay away from the people that he's been hanging out with because Kareem hunt was involved in three incidents one of them the video came out we don't know about the others what did or did not happen but a lot of people did say that if Kareem hunt wants to stay in the NFL he's got to surround himself with the right people and maybe start cutting ties with the people he keeps getting in trouble with because they might not be the most positive influence I mean what's more important these these homies of yours that might get you into trouble or your NFL career where you're making millions of dollars you're living the dream essentially and you can set up your your family and protect them for life um so I don't know uh this is kind of a this this is an interesting situation where when you look at rashu rice and what he did you know he needs to suffer the consequences for obviously the NFL that had said before that they're going to wait for U the legal process and the trial all of that to unfold so it's not likely that rice is going to be suspended this year me listen what he did was Dumb and he needs to suffer the consequences for it now from a football standpoint I would rather serve the 4 68 game suspension now to start off because the logic behind that is when he comes back midseason he'll be fresh and that's going to be a nice boost for the offense when you know you know you're G to get every team's best shot it's not a secret you know that that's how the Patriots work for so many years uh when Tom Brady was there every team when they saw New England on their schedule that's just the game that the players were a little more fired up for and they gave their the the Patriots their best um the Chiefs are now in that position where they they're getting every team's best shot so uh with rice you know uh surround yourself with the right people uh that's what you've got to do um make better decisions hopefully he's doing that uh another wide receiver that's been in the news lately Brandon auk from the 49er is obviously not very happy with his current situation in San Francisco there is a report out there from a sports talk radio host in Pittsburgh apparently this is one of the more uh better insiders out there among talk radio hosts in the country that covers the NFL uh this reporter is claiming that the uh 49ers and the Steelers have come to a verbal agreement and that Brandon iuk is set to go to Pittsburgh uh the the Browns of the Patriots were also in the running for um for Brandon iuk apparently the Patriots are no longer in the running uh so it's apparently it's just the Steelers for now maybe the Browns uh listen let me just say this I think Brandon auk is a good receiver I don't think he's great per se but we'll see you know what he can do away from San Francisco but I don't know what it is with wide receivers but it seems like some of the more significant wide receiver trades we've seen in the NFL the team that trades the wide receiver ends up in a ends up doing better uh so for example um the Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins now the Dolphins have put up astronomical numbers on offense no question about it but how many playoff points is that translated into zero uh Miami got all their offensive players back in time for the um for the playoff game against the Chiefs but they could not do anything with it they couldn't do anything in the in the playoffs Devonte Adams went from Green Bay to the Raiders now Green Bay's offense has not been the same but who who's at least won a playoff game between the Raiders and the Packers the Packers without Devonte Adams and AR and Rogers they want to playoff game without those two guys um Devonte Adams meanwhile is on a team that has some good offensive players but have yet to win a play they haven't even finished above 500 with Devonte Adams oh and by way I know Raiders fans keep um keep uh pushing back again oh he has no regrets really because I listen to his podcast with Max Crosby and yeah he says the words I have no regrets and then what does he do he follows it up with the word but and then follows it up with a very long story there when you say you have no regrets but you give a very long spiel you have regrets you don't need to have a psychology degree to to know that you need sense to be able to to see that kind of thing it's almost like when um when your friend goes through a breakup and he or she says that they they no longer miss their uh their ex but they can't help it but just talk about them forever and ever it's like okay you say you don't miss your ex but you absolutely miss your ex you absolutely do because you can't stop talking about him U that's kind of the situation where Devonte Adams and by the way uh you can watch that show receiver on Netflix which is a great show um dude Devonte Adams does not look happy in his situation with the Raiders I I who would who would oh what you want a a Christmas game in Kansas City and all is fixed I mean come on I know that's a Raiders Superbowl there but you still have a lot of issues to sort out congratulations on your regular season Christmas Day Super Bowl Parade that's not going to help yeah Dalton says it in the chat no who's your quarterback right now who's your quarterback Gardner muu Aiden o Connell oh we beat the chiefs with Aiden oconnell yeah tell me if that's going to happen again that exact same thing Patrick Mahomes [ __ ] up in the span of seven seconds and that's what gave the Raiders the win so in all the times the Chiefs and Raiders have played each other Patrick RS had the seven worst seconds of his career against the Raiders oh by the way that's a shitty offense that no one wanted to any part of by the way that offense won the Super Bowl in the Raiders building uh the same building I got to visit this past week so I don't know by the way what's going to happen with the Raiders uh because the reports are out there that um Gardner mchu and Aidan o Connell are both struggling immensely wow shocker uh can't believe uh can't believe that's out there but anyway I'm getting off track here the point I'm trying to make here is um I'm not saying Devonte Adams and Tyreek Hill are not uh significant pieces to try to win a championship they are 100% they are um but for whatever reason the same off season by the way and one was a domino effect to the other with Devonte Adams going to the AFC West his contract forced Tyreek Hill to get a better contract yet neither the Raiders or the Dolphins have had any kind of significant success ever since they traded for and paid big money to their new wide receivers uh the Dolphins yeah they've at least been in the playoffs but how many winning teams did the Dolphins beat last year only one because I got push back from this from Dolphins fans on Twitter oh you don't think the Dolphins receiving cor is good I know it's not that I don't think they're bad but what did the Dolphins due last year they put up 70 points on Denver um I mean okay I I I still remember this Miami put up 70 on Denver and then Denver beat the Chiefs and the chiefs were getting ready will play Miami in Germany and everyone that's out of Kansas City kept saying oh if if Miami can beat then put up 70 on Denver and if Denver beat the Chiefs well sure certainly you know the math is going to pan out well because that's the way everything works in the NFL if you're a football fan uh I'm saying that sarcastically of course um but you saw what happened with Miami I mean they struggled to put up points in that game struggle to put up points in Kansas City so I imagine that struggling against an actual defense when you beat up a terrible defense shocker shocker um but anyway the point I'm trying to make here is if you're Brandon iuk do you not look at Devonte Adams and Tyreek Hill I know the 49ers keep losing to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl but where else are you going to go because that 49ers team is stacked and yeah they may not have beaten the Chiefs but they would kind of were outplaying the Chiefs for 3.9 quarters of that game so I'm not sure ultimately like what's the logic here yeah sure you want the money but do you think Devonte Adams is happy he sure as held did not look happy in the Netflix series I mean he was pissed he talked about wanting to get out I mean you tell me if you think that guy's happy I don't know what's goingon to happen with the whole Brandon iuk think it's not official but apparently he's on his way to Pittsburgh and I think you know that's a solid place to go to but man you're going to go to the FC where you have to deal with Kansas City and you have to deal with Cincinnati and buffalo that stacked conference meanwhile in the NFC I mean the 49ers are still the Front Runners yeah the Packers and the lions are are considered contenders the Eagles you people aren't so sure about them I'm kind of uh you know pessimistic about the Eagles but they're still you know my point is the NFC is a very thin conference right now and you're going to give up that opportunity okay uh hope the money's worth it but don't complain if you're not having the same success that you were having previously with the 49ers let's take a timeout from all of this training camp talk here and give a shout out to our sponsor SeatGeek SeatGeek is the place where I go to for all of my sports ticketing needs I got to see a couple of years ago The the John guden thing no one really knows like what's going on with him uh other than he's been on the team meetings so he he's certainly been hired for something otherwise they would not let him sit on those team meetings and he would not be at Chief's training camp for so many days I'd be very curious to see if he's going to be on the sidelines and if he is what is he specifically going to do if he's if he's going to be you know talking to players uh directly or if he's going to be in the booth with the other assistant coaches I'm very curious to see that and I'm very curious to see if the um Chiefs broadcast team is going to address that in this preseason game keep in mind you know their Chiefs employees um Tren green and um who is the uh who's the play-by-play guy who's the god uh His Name Escapes my mind he's been doing it for quite some time um taking over for the um former missou play-by-play or I think he's still at maou um he's from an NFL Network Paul Burmeister that's that's who the play-by-play guy yeah I mean you know when they're doing the Chiefs preseason games they are Chiefs employees so if they're going to be told to not bring up John guden and telling the camera crew to not show John guden perhaps uh we may not know much about it in the um in the preseason game so we might have to wait and see what the um what the verdict is on that yeah dalon good point that forgot about Baltimore Baltimore you know even though they're not good in the playoffs they're they're winning enough games to get a number one seed at least twice so um yeah it it's been uh it's been kind of interesting oh that's pretty cool Brian that Chris Conley's your cousin yeah that's um I liked him he kind of gone through a little bit of a slow star but I feel like you know his speed I just don't feel like the Chiefs utilize his speed well enough um so that's for her's a big Star Wars guy um it's funny I had Matt dererk on the podcast once and he mentioned that he was talking to Chris connley because Matt's a huge Star Wars guy and so was Chris and Chris was like talking about the Star Wars movie he's seen and Matt like cut him off he's like dude I haven't seen the recent movie so um that's pretty funny that's cool though that um that you're related to him that's awesome uh I was on vacation when the NFL top 10 list for the top 100 list came out so I haven't had a chance to talk about this on the podcast but I think you all know by now that Patrick Mahomes is fourth on this list Christian mcaffrey is third Lamar Jackson is second and Tyreek Hill finished uh number one now keep in mind this NFL top 100 list apparently um they vote on this in late November okay all right um not only that it's the players who vote on this now I don't know I don't know if there's been full confirmation of um of the uh of the players voting on this during the season like in uh like in uh late November or whatever it is apparently they vote on this but uh it's the players who vote on this no media no uh analyst none of that nobody votes on this except for active players uh Patrick Mahomes ranked fourth on this list um listen let me just say this if the players really did vote on this and there are a lot of people reacting Damen Woody had a lot to say about this um actually calling out all of the players who did vote and said that they need to do better um you know what's crazy to me is you have the Super Bowl MVP you have the offensive player of the year and you have the MVP and none of them finished first um so so how do you how do you justify and listen I think Tyreek kill had a phenomenal season and don't get me wrong but how do you justify the MV the regular season MVP the Super Bowl MVP and the offensive player of the year not finishing one two and three instead they all finished below number one uh um that's what I found interesting here now I have t I've said this before and I'll say it again maybe the player listen I I do believe that there's a vote in that players cast their ballot and they submit it to NFL Network because NFL network is the one that uh showcases the uh the list however NFL network uh before they revealed the the list um they did show a couple of the ballots not all of them uh but they they don't reveal all the votes so what does that allow them to do they can go out there and put this in any order they want now why would they do that why would they intentionally change the order well it's to do it to get a lot of reactions because if Patrick Mahomes did finish number one and if Jackson or Chris mcaffry finished number two and the other finished number three and Tyreek was fourth would anybody be talking about this list no nobody would be talking about this list does anybody know who was number five on the list I don't off the top of my head I do not I would have to look it up right now I know Chris Jones was six and I think Travis Kelce was eight or nine but everybody who follows the NFL very closely and follows these kinds of uh rankings and lists very closely everybody knows Patrick Ms was fourth because everybody has been talking about it which is my point maybe NF maybe Patrick Mahomes was getting the most first place votes but NFL Network said Look No One's Gonna say anything if Patrick RS is number one but if we put Patrick romes at four then a lot of people are gonna have a lot to say about this because I still remember uh turning on Mad Dog Sports Radio and I apologize I don't remember the name of the host but after the list officially came out they announced the entire list they immediately started talking about this and how it was disrespectful that Mahomes was fourth ESPN FS1 uh SiriusXM NFL radio ESPN radio FOX Sports radio uh every single media outlet has talked about Patrick Mahomes being number four on this list uh another weird thing about this list Aaron Rogers was 96th how in the hell was a how in the hell does a player play Four snaps and his ranked 96th and I got uh someone uh pushed back on social media and said oh the players voting on this they don't believe that you know a short season is is enough to push you out of the list folks to my knowledge this is not a career accomplishment list this is a list based on how you did that season so this is not a career accomplishment list and therefore Aaron Rogers has no business being on this list uh JJ Watt got injured one year and only played two or three games and he was ranked in the NFL top 100 list years ago he called it out on social media thought it was weird that he was even ranked so this is a popularity contest but is it possible that NFL Network reorders some of the players on this list to drive conversation absolutely I believe that's what's going on here because you cannot justify the Super Bowl MVP the regular season MVP and the offensive player of the year not none of those guys are number one if you guys told me before the top 10 list was revealed who's number one I would have said it's got to be one of those three right there either the Super Bowl MVP the regular season MVP or the offensive player of the year Mahomes Chris mcaffry and Lamar Jackson none of those guys were number one it's Tyreek Hill and I don't want to take anything away from Tyreek Hill because he had an awesome season but how do you justify Tyreek Hill over those three guys Lamar okay I get there a lot of opinions about Lamar Jackson but at the end of the day he won the MVP this year so you know it's a weird list and this is not the first time Patrick Mahomes was ranked fourth I think the year the Chiefs won the Super Bowl he was ranked number four and a lot of people thought the first time he won the Super Bowl I should be clear and a lot of people said how in the hell is he fourth so you tell me do you really think NFL network is putting this in the order that they actually received from the votes because I don't think so that's the only logic I can come up with as to how Tyre one and the three other guys who Super Bowl MVP uh regular season MVP and the offensive player of the year were not number one and if what I'm saying does not make sense you tell me why those three guys are not number one because it should be Patrick Mahomes and if it's not him Christian mcaffry should be the other guy but neither one of those guys were number one on the list a former Kan City Chiefs quarterback and a Super Bowl MVP Nick FS has announced his retirement so big UPS to Nick fols listen let me just say this uh his career did not go at all well this guy was fighting for a job every year even the year coming off the Super Bowl MVP um but you know what he just happened to be at the right place at the right time and if I'm not mistaken the Eagles were underdogs in every single playoff game which is understandable why wouldn't they be um at that time and Nick folos uh stepped up and helped deliver Philadelphia their first Super well I mean this is a franchise that's had Carson Wentz who looked like he was going to be the MVP that same year you had Donovan McNab uh Cunningham you've had a lot of good quarterbacks over the years in Philadelphia but who brings you the first and only Super Bowl in Eagles history Nick folos did it and I'll tell you right now I know a lot of people love that onside kick call by Shawn Peyton against um against the Colts the Colts team that had pton Manning but man I've got to tell you right now I I think the Nick fos Philly special is the best play call in Super Bowl history because you know even if the like like let's say the Saints did not go for the outside kick I still think they win that game because pton Manning was not playing very well in that game meanwhile right before halftime on fourth down Nick folos gets the call to line up as a tight end and he goes out wide open he was not the only open guy Tory Smith was also wide open on that play it's a fourth down call and not only that I think on the drive before the Patriots tried to throw a pass to Tom Brady and it was just the most poorly executed trick play of all time uh like it wasn't even close to uh to a catch Tom Brady had to jump to try to pull pull in the ball meanwhile the eagle said okay let's show you how you throw a pass to a quarterback and going to do it in the end zone and boy uh that was I still remember my reaction I went wild when that play happened that was a cool play um don't get me wrong the outside kick was great too I just think this one gets the cake there because it's a fourth down touchdown pass to your quarterback a backup quarterback mind you filling in for Carson Wentz that entire postseason so um that's you know Nick f is going to be remembered is he going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame probably not but he damn well is going into the Eagles Hall of Fame for bringing their only he's the only Super Bowl MVP in Eagles history so you got to give it to him 100% you got to give it to him uh okay I do have to discuss this because the Morgan Wallen concert in Kansas City happened back-to-back nights boy uh did things get crazy in that one there because uh first of all uh uh Morgan Wallen came out to a number seven jersey this is what's so interesting about our society today is people do not want to look at the fact and when the facts are put in their face they don't want to believe it they only want to believe what they want to believe so Morgan Wallen apparently is controversial I don't know why and I don't really care he comes out in a number seven jersey and a lot of people think it's a Harrison bucker Jersey so because it's got political the right is celebrating this and the left wants them cancelled and the left is worried they're saying oh my God how could Travis Kelce Taylor Swift's uh boyfriend support this God forbid we coexist um but it's not a it's not a bucker Jersey it is a number seven jersey but it's not a bucker Jersey it's a custom made Jersey Wallen has plenty of number seven custom Jersey it's very common for musicians when they when they have a concert in a town to wear uh a jersey of uh a player that plays or had played in that town so the day before he came out to in a Bo Jackson Royals Jersey which is cool uh the next day he comes out in his own number seven custom Jersey but even it's funny because uh Twitter uh had the community note and they actually used my picture uh that a friend of mine sent um but even then people still did not want to face the fact that it was not a bucker Jersey people wanted to justify that it's buckers Jersey somehow um I I I I don't quite understand that but that's the way the internet work Works um so that happened and that was a there was a big uproar about that uh however there was something more serious that took place so one of the attendees at the concert uh someone from Illinois uh he wrote on social media uh threatening a terroristic attack on multiple Chiefs employees uh I don't know how security found it there are threats made every day somebody made a joke about causing a terror threat at the Super Bowl Parade um unfortunately there was something that happened at the Super Bowl Parade uh meanwhile at this Morgan Wallen concert they pushed it back 90 minutes because um security saw Chris Jones Travis Kelce Patrick Mahomes they saw members of the hunt family they saw Andy Reid and his wife and they said wait a minute there was a threat to shoot these people so they delayed the concert 90 minutes people had no idea why it turned out security found this guy in attendance um and uh he claims that he was joking which is what a lot of these people do when they say something on the Internet that that they should not say um and this guy is now suffering the consequences for it um his bond is very low I think it's like a $20,000 Bond and prosecutors wanted at six figures specifically at 200 or 250 I can't remember which one here's what I struggle with it is 2024 we all know how the internet works right now you say something look if I give you guys the most intelligent Sports take of all time it's not gonna get a lot of reactions but if I say something very extreme and egregious um and maybe not something like this gentleman what he did but if but if I say something crazy it's going to get go go viral because that's the way the internet works viral comments get more reactions uh crazy comments I actually get more reactions than the uh than the logical takes that's just the way things work um but what what what did this guy think when he went on twitter.com or x.com whatever you want want to call it and he made this threat on the internet what was he thinking it's the year 2024 man we are we're at a point now where we have seen a lot of people lose their jobs because of things they've said on the internet now there are some people who've made harmless jokes and they've lost their jobs for it I know we can have a long conversation about that kind of thing but there are people who've actually like said making extreme threats and they've lost their job people make extreme threats and they never I mean they don't lose their jobs at all it never gets cut no one ever sees it um if I'm not M I can't remember threatened to cause a shooting somewhere and if I'm not mistaken I think it was Julian Edelman he reported that comment to police they went to that person's house and they found a gun now they were't sure if that that person was going to actually do follow through with what they said they do but that person felt the need to put on the internet and it's just weird man like what is what is going on in our society that out there on on the internet Taylor Swift was supposed to have a 39 concert in Vienna but it's having to call it off because of serious threats that are being made at um the event like what's going through someone's mind and listen I'm not saying that threats should ever be taken lightly but let's be honest 99% of the time the people who even say these things do not even mean it I mean they're just saying it as as an attempt to scare people I I I've received these before um but do you not think that if this gets reported that you could be in some serious [ __ ] listen threatening people on the Internet is a horrible idea to begin with but if you're saying this about Travis Kelce and I don't know what the Tweet was we don't know but if you're saying something about Travis Kelsey it's an even dumber idea because given Travis Kel's popularity right now and Taylor Swift's fan base being as passionate as they are the Taylor Swift fan base they monitor every single thing that's being said about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce so there's at least one Swifty that's going to find this and they will make a big deal about it and try to get other people to to notice it that's what I'm guessing what happened um otherwise I don't know how else this uh this could have get gotten um on the radar um AA says it always gets blamed on Mental Health um I don't know I mean I'm not really smart enough to to comment on that thing I know that's a big discussion we have today whenever things like this happen um yeah see Dalton mentions clout uh I've been accused of trying to collect clout I think a lot of people use that word so much but they don't even know what it means whenever they accuse someone of trying to gain clout uh I I do agree with what you're saying though Dalton there's no question that he said it in hopes that you know it was a joke and that other people would say oh haha hilarious um listen no one ever wants to post on social media and for no one to see it when people say something they they want to get responses and that's that's social media what imagine that that's the purpose of social media um but yeah I mean you decided to do uh something really stupid and now you're paying the price for it so congratulations Buster uh don't know um what the uh trial date and all that stuff is when that's going to be but yeah I have a feeling the judge is not going to be too kind about it it let let's be honest here if this was a threat made to like your neighbor probably going to be a a slap on the risk type of punishment but if you're going to do this to public figures like the Chiefs who are obviously big right now you're screwed you are screwed so good luck uh I do want to touch on the depth chart right now first of all can you guys see this oh God no you cannot let's zoom in hey guys I need your uh response in the comments can you guys see this right now or do you guys have to squint your eyes because you guys have to squint then that's not a good thing it's not what I'm trying to do here okay I'm hoping I'm hoping this is big enough on Facebook and YouTube yeah that's good that is good okay um listen I'll move around I know I know I'm zoomed in too much so I'll move around um like this yeah because we got to get the entire thing uh so the depth chart is out um listen it's it's the first week of a well technically now the second week of August this is very um this is like you know when you were in school and you had a rough draft for a paper that you had to write and then obviously that rough draft was not your final paper that's what this depth chart is in uh early August that's what this is uh obviously your quarterbacks as expected Mahomes Wentz Oken and uh Ian book uh the fullback position is interesting there Carson steel uh is on this list and if I'm not mistaken isn't Carson steel from can State uh yeah uh let me just double check on this no I'm I'm thinking of someone else I apologize this guy went to ball Stan UCL and was undrafted this year so um but they have him listed as one of the fullbacks right now on the team running backs Peko Clyde Edwards Air daic Prince you have Keon Ingram then you have Luis ree zamit who has struggled in Camp so far this year and then you have Amman Bailey so you've got 1 two three four vets and then two rookies on that list Travis Kelce your top tight end no surprise there Noah gray right behind him and then the rookie Jared Wy which is expected F Smith Jr who the chief sign this off season he's on the list at number four and then you got rookies Baylor Cup on the list and then uh I don't know how you say this guy's name uh garius Spivey I hope I said that right offensive line uh pretty straightforward here given that Wan Morris has been dealing with some injuries lately it makes sense that Kingsley suam TAA is on top of that list Joe tuni right there Joe tuni will not play in Saturday's preseason game so it's going to likely be Mike Kendo filling in for the ones um now the wide receivers that is the uh that's the one that everyone probably has the most interest in right now so if you look at this list right here here's who you have you have Hollywood Brown he's one of your starters Rashi rice is the other Starter by the way um this is uh showing uh essentially like an eye formation that's what we have here now the Chiefs do run of 13 Personnel meaning you know they would have a third receiver uh a slot receiver that would be a serter but this is just a death I mean even the official death chart in week one is still kind of unofficial uh but for right now you have Hollywood Brown and Rashi rice behind those two you have Justin Watson and Xavier worthy the number three receivers are sky Moore and juson Ross so that's six uh the number four fourth string uh receivers you have micle Hardman and Nico rigio behind those guys with the fifth string you have Cornell Powell and cadarius Tony that's a very interesting spot for goodas Tony uh couple more here uh Montreal Washington and Phil Brooks Kyle sheets and Geron Heek um Brooks sheets and Heek are all undrafted players uh on this um on this depth chart here okay so obviously no surprise brown rice and worthy are your top three guys 100% Worthy's had a very active training camp he's been very busy this um this training camp uh Justin Watson you know he's got some veteran experience and he's a good depth player so it doesn't surprise me he's on the list Sky Moore has kind of had a quiet training camp so I'm a little surprised he is uh with the third stringers and then Justin Ross we're kind of still waiting on Justin Ross's development but he's ahead of mle Hardman and cadarius Tony which is a surprise to me um Justin Ross being ahead of mcole Hardman and cader Tony that's the surprise that's that's my biggest reaction on the offensive side uh now again this uh depth chart came out on August 6th so this isn't anything to take very seriously right now this is not uh set in stone right now um I'll tell you this right now if I had to pick the seven wide receivers because the Chiefs had seven last year so I'm gonna give you my seven again I I know this has probably been like the um the discussion we've had more than anything else this year who are going to be the seven receivers okay Hollywood brown rashu rice worthy Justin Watson those are my top four after that I have mle Hardman at five I do have kadary Tony at six now who's seven gonna be is it gonna be Sky Moore is gonna be niik Rio or is it gonna be Justin Ross I think it's GNA be one of those three guys right there a lot of people are saying it's going to be Sky Moore because Sky Moore is on a rookie deal and therefore he's going to be cheaper to have on the team I don't think the Chiefs give a damn right now about who's cheaper to keep you need the seven best wide receivers on your team Justin Ross the I mean we keep getting all this hype about him and we're kind of waiting for this breakthrough to happen so I think the Chiefs want to be want to give him that opportunity so I think Seven's going to be Justin Ross and I think Nico Rio is going to be on your practice squad Sky Moore probably going to be on your practice squad if he clears waivers but um I don't think he's a guy that's going to want to stick around on the practice squad but then again I don't know like who's going to want Sky more just because you are a recent second round pick doesn't mean anything he has not played particularly well so that that that wide receiver uh depth chart is the one that really caught my attention but behind Brown ryson worthy and Watson the third stringers and the fourth stringers the the the order is pretty interesting there again it's August uh 8th right now this came out 48 hours ago so a lot can change uh within the next 20 days as we have uh the preseason games and um obviously more training camp practices uh the defense um so let me start with the defensive line you have Mike Dana and George carloas as your defensive ends ton Warton and Chris Jones the interior behind Dana and carus are fa and Malik Herring uh Charles om who is on this list although he's not practicing right now um I think these defensive ends are great I could see omu over hearing by the time this is over depending on om who's progress he could start the season on the physically unable to perform list or the pup um so we'll see uh as far as interior uh tackles go uh Mike panel Neil frell doesn't surprise me one bit I do think that's going to be the four defensive tackles Wharton Jones panel frell maybe Matt Dickerson maybe Matt Dickerson um I'll be honest I don't really have a lot of thoughts on the guys outside of um outside of the uh those names I mentioned on the death chart here uh triond Jones maybe uh is going to be on the uh practice squad or maybe special teams uh but we'll see uh linebackers you have drew tranquil Nick Bolton and Leo Chanel now this is on a 4-3 format but the 4-3 I mean does that really exist especially in Kansas City's defense um no not really the Chiefs run nickel and Dy packages more than any team in the last two years not even close um but these three guys tranquil Bolton Chanel No Surprise one bit I'm actually very excited for Leo Chanel I know Willie gay is a big loss especially against the run but you won the AFC championship against the number one rushan Team without him not saying he's not that that he was not worth keeping no not at all but Leo Chanel can do a lot of the things that Willie gay did I'm very confident in that I think he's got on proove he missed the sack against Lamar Jackson that turned into a touchdown so he's got to be better about those kinds of things but Leo Chanel did a very good job going after the quarterback last year um and last year with Nick Bolton uh missing some time due to injury and Willie gay also missing some time due to injury Leo Shanel got a lot of playing time last year more than uh expected so uh I think that's helped him prepare for this moment in his third year I he's getting ready to play more um Jack Cochran and Cole Christensen I mean those guys have been around a couple of years cam Jones a guy who you recently drafted listen I'm just gonna be honest I mean I don't know anything about Jack Cochran when I hear his name all I think about is last year him and Travis Kelce getting into a fight in the end zone uh in one of the training camp practices like that that's who Jack cooch that's all I can think of when I hear Jack Cochran I'm sorry like that's all I can think of um but he's he's a guy that the Chiefs have kept around for a little bit now so surely they see something in him that um that they believe that he can be a part of the team and that he can come through if his number is called um and if someone's injured ahead of him uh the defensive backs this is going to be a very interesting unit here because right now Justin Reed's been dealing with some injuries though he's still listed number one as the safety Brian Cook coming back from injury uh the other starting safety for the Chiefs you have jadden Hicks who you drafted he's right behind Justin Reed Dion Bush who you signed a couple of years ago in free agency from Chicago he's behind Brian Cook so the top four guys not a surprise one bit with the safety position the quarterback position this is the one that's very very important here Tren McDuffy you're obvious number one number two is Josh Williams Behind McDuffy and Williams Jaylen Watson and Nazi Johnson um those top four not a surprise maybe who you thought would be number one opposite of McDuffy would be the surprise there I thought it would would have been Jaylen Watson but Josh Williams doesn't surprise me one bit the here let me just say this first of all whoever is GNA be the top two starting quarterbacks going into week one it's still not going to matter because quarterback is a position where you get there's a lot of rotation involved and again the Chiefs run the nickel and dime package more than any team in the NFL so you're going to see a lot of Jaylen Watson anyway assuming Williams holds on to that starting spot opposite of McDuffy um Shamari Connor is a very interesting name this is a guy who that played Safety last year uh played some slot quarter as well last year I'm actually very excited about Shamari Connor we had uh Don Cherry Chief Sol of Famer on the podcast uh recently and we talked about Shamari Conor a little bit and uh I imagine I was very excited to to see him Eco boy do hey State grad uh you know someone who the Chiefs might utilize here um Kelvin Joseph Keith Taylor the surprise on this one is Kamal Haden your draft pick who is on the bottom of the quarterback depth chart again it's August 8th I'm gonna keep saying it it's still early uh but that is probably the biggest surprise to me a lot of people are reacting to cadarius Tony uh being low on the depth chart Kamal Haden is a bigger surprise to me than cadario Tony um so we'll see what the Chiefs do with um with Kamal Haden uh and again it's early so he'll have an opportunity to try to prove himself in these um in these preseason games he was drafted in the sixth round so uh we'll see what happens there obviously your other um defensive back that you drafted uh jayen Hicks uh getting some um getting some uh attention as well this training camp uh the chiefs were very excited to get Jaden Hicks in the fourth round out of Washington state so yeah that's your uh defense there and then for special teams uh bucker uh Arisa uh uh and then Winchester very obvious there not a shocker one bit let me just say this um I forgot to mention this so we were told that there's a very good chance for kickoffs because of the XFL Rule and everything the XFL style rule I should say that we were probably going to see Justin Reed or uh Luis ree zamit for kickoffs but the Chiefs decided to go back to Harrison bucker because they felt like Harrison bucker is much better with maybe the range and accuracy for kickoffs and they kind of might want to utilize that with this new rule that they're setting up here so um that um that that that was kind of a surprise to me going back to bucker on this XFL style rule because bucker I mean you don't want bucker attempting a tackle I mean you'd rather have uh Reese lightning or uh Justin Reed now maybe Justin Reed's injury is part of the reason why they're going back to buter I don't know but that is uh that is the uh situation right now uh for pun returner uh I was actually a little surprised Xavier worthy number one on the list I thought it would have been cadus Tony um CAD as far as top three returners go for both kick return and punt return cadus Tony's not on this list that was a surprise to me that was my second biggest reaction Xavier number one MCO hardman's two and Niko Rio is three for kick returner n Rio is one I was surprised by that micle harman's two and Luis ree zamit is three so that is um that was a bit of a surprise there so that is the uh early depth chart again early nothing significant here but that is uh the uh the depth chart first preseason game is this Saturday the Chiefs will be on 38 the spot it will not be on KSHB it will not be on channel 41 because of the Olympics I believe it's the final day of the Olympics or maybe the second to last day um so KB is obligated to that so therefore they will Air this game on their sister station 38 the spot um if you're not in Kansas City it will be available on NFL Network now I don't know who which broadcast crew they're going to air on that could be the Chiefs could be the Jaguars if it's a jaguars just be aware um you're going to get more Jaguars coverage than Chiefs coverage which might be annoying but at least you get the game here are my top 10 players I am going to keep a close eye on in Saturday's preseason game number one Xavier worthy obviously we've seen him do a lot of great things in Camp so far let's see it against another defense that's not on your team let's see it in an actual preseason game Nazi Johnson my number two guy on this list because coming back from injury the Chiefs have always been very high on Nazi Johnson we have we don't really know why we haven't really seen the reason for that so let's see that in this uh preseason game I'd like to see what na Johnson's going to do number three Luis ree zamit he has not looked very good so far in Camp uh I'd like to see him maybe get his feet wet in this game um honestly I would not be surprised if he doesn't play this first preseason game maybe they kind of have him watch from the sidelines and learn a little bit so if he plays it's going to be very late in the game and maybe there's a chance he doesn't play number five Wan Morris I know he's been dealing with some injuries so far in training camp so I don't know if this is gonna by the way I made this list last week just want to be uh clear on that um who knows if Wan Morris is gonna play but uh this is a guy that um is competing with Kingsley soam another guy on my list I'll go ahead and name that right now uh when you have a franchise quarterback like Patrick Mahomes the most important position is The Blind Side the left tackle spot the Chiefs have not had a good left tackle for a couple of years now ever since they let Eric fer go so who's going to be the left tackle right now it's Kingsley on the depth chart but who's going to step up in this preseason game those are two guys I have on the list number seven I have Brian Cook coming back from injury how is he going to look another safety I have is the rookie Jayden Hicks um I know the Chiefs are very high on him so let's see what he does in his first preseason game and then my number 10 guy on this list the number 10 guy I'm excited to see in this preseason game is not on offense not on defense the punter Matt Arisa the punt God you know what I want to see preferably not with the starters but I want to see at some point the offense uh start from their own five yard line not get a first down not even move one yard not one damn inch I want to see mise a punt from The End Zone I want to see what it looks like in a Chiefs unit uniform I need to see that I need I need it to happen just once you know you have it really good when you're on the verge of trying to three repeat and you're excited about your new punter Mata um listen he's already had big punts in training camp he played a preseason game with Buffalo and had a massive punt with them he's done it in college I mean punting does not change drastically in the NFL um doesn't nothing was going to change so it's expected to be the same and I just need to see it once I just need one massive punt from miza I'm very excited to see that in Saturday's game so those are my top 10 players I am excited to see in Saturday's preseason game as the Chiefs make their preseason debut in Jacksonville visiting the Jaguars all right very long podcast we unpacked a lot tonight reminder
