FSU Football Hard truth. DJ needs to…

hi and welcome to the channel I'm go co simol and uh let's just get right into some hot takes for the the hard truth about FSU um obviously I'm a die hard semal fan but let's talk about some things that we that we need to dog about um I've been hearing both sides of this all across the board let's crack into it DJ's not what he's supposed to be I mean I'll say it flat footed DJ sucks I know a lot of people are like don't blame it all on the quarterback don't worry we're going to get into that too but the quarterback's the leader of your team I mean look at how the team formed around Jordan Travis and his play style and everything that he did so you can't tell me oh well it's not really DJ's fault I mean he had some some bad passes but it was a lot of drop B yes a lot of drop balls more than just DJ sucking um but let's be honest this culture has to have a quarterback and I think d DJ just right out the gates let's just get it out the way DJ sucks he needs to be benched immediately I will not change or compromise my opinion on that you have to bench DJ Now um and and that kind of goes into like okay well you know what about what about Brock you know he didn't look the best or what about you know the young cat Luke look give him a chance you know everybody wants to forget that like uh Jordan Travis he he was a backup at one point and he had a chance he filled in here and there until he got his Limelight so you know let's let's not forget that yeah these guys are backups but I mean they need their chance I mean even Tate raker he came in and did some stuff before he transferred out so bench DJ immediately that's non-negotiable if Mike norell if we come out to play Memphis the week after this uh weekend and we have DJ at quarterback you can go ahead and write it off um and and and let me go ahead and put it now you know a lot of people are saying think it's going to be like a seven and five or an eight and no this is a 0 and 12 season and I you I don't want to say that this is a 0 and 12 season if we continue with DJ at quarterback now hopefully you know we make some adjustments we change we can change that I don't want to try and speculate on what I think it is but I mean without being too harsh hot take I I think that watching all of college football this weekend we look like the worst team in college football we looked like the worst team in college football and for me that hurts but I mean it's just a reality we have to talk about um but let's go let's go into some other things so Mike norell a lot of This falls on him and I'm a Norvell guy you know a lot of people they want to change and they you know he's another Willie tiger this and that look I'm I'm not saying he's great um I think that he fit the culture I think that he's done some good things um but like what was he thinking you know we get we get and this is going back to DJ but we we get DJ that this is his pick this is what he wants you know a guy who's been through you know Clemson and he's been um he's just been through programs already we're we're we're like how does this guy let's just take everything aside how does he get a rhythm let me ask you this if you're constantly changing programs how do you actually ever get your identity how do you ever actually get your Rhythm I mean there's a reason that you keep changing and I feel like it's because you're not fitting in now of course yes last season he had a good season um debatable on whether he had a good season or if it was you know some of the talent around him I mean that o line was really strong um so we could say that yeah I mean the the o line looked good that helped him out had a lot of running Talent on his team last year and we're going to get into our running side of things don't worry but my thing with this whole uh thing is like why would coach Norvell think that's the guy um he doesn't if you look at a style he does not fit our offense you know we are as of late we're a dual threat quarterback team we're a hurry up high Tempo team I've seen no Tempo just to be clear this season but we're a higher Tempo team and a door threat you need to be able to run the ball you need to be able to to make those quick decisions so I mean a lot of this that I'm not understanding to be honest is coach norvell's decision I mean why pick a guy who keeps going through programs and going through programs and he's you know more of like a a pro football sitting the pocket slow kind of quarterback that's just what he is and it doesn't jive with our offense I have understood it from the get-go even when you know when they first announced him I was like kind of disappointed um I wanted to see what the young guys could do but you know why is this the guy that we're picking I'm just I'm just fiber guy but I don't want to go off too far on that so a lot of this goes to Mike norell and what I'm trying to understand is you you're supposed to either develop the offense around your quarterback's ability or develop your quarterback into your offense strategy and I'm just not seeing anything he doesn't mesh um and this is something I wanted to touch on you know everybody wants to to go off on the tight end you know Morlock okay well here's the thing about K Morlock all right yes he had some drop passes but they were almost laughable Dr drop passes you know they were almost like intentional drop passes and I'm not saying that that's what happened um but it almost feels like he didn't want DJ to be like like he was like Hey sub him out like he was trying to do anything he could to make DJ not look good and like like I said this is a FSU conspiracy theory right here but it almost looks like you know some of the team is like let's we're not Jing with this guy let's get him out and I think a lot of that it maybe I'm wrong but I feel like a lot of that culture that's going on right now with that is almost like you know new kid on the Block rich kid syndrome right like everybody that was still there and kind of a family that was part of the last Legacy you know all the guys who left that was part of that team they're like oh this guy's on on the Block and look at him he's he's getting paid to be here you know oh it's like he's he's like the rich spoiled kid and already he doesn't really mesh into our play style so we have you know DJ coming in and I feel like maybe a lot of the culture just rejected him and and maybe I'm wrong this is just a conspiracy theory I don't have anything to back it up I'm just saying it was just kind of weird that you know Morlock looked really good and he's you know consistent and then all of a sudden just like it was like in his hands twice and he was like oh and just dropped it I mean it was weird it was almost like he was trying to make DJ look worse I don't know and then of course you know it's it's been said that the crowd was even like you know we want Brock and they were trying to you know chant that they wanted him even the crowd was like we've seen enough DJ you know we we we need to uh we need to do something different we got to do something different and so um anyways I don't want to spend too much time on that let's go on and move on to the next thing here so um defense we don't have one um you know first half was very very horrible and I mean Boston College Georgia Tech I mean they pretty much are running the same Playbook at this point because you run the ball I mean why why wouldn't you until we can stop it why wouldn't you just continue to run the ball and I mean even in the game Boston College ran the same exact play back to back and just kept shredding yardage and we were unable to adjust we were unable to stop it now um I will say this and and this this is maybe a hot take that no I've been hearing everybody say the opposite so just saying oh defense was garbage never showed up just horrible the whole game I disagree that's somewhere that I disagree maybe it's a hot take um the second half the defense showed up um it wasn't what we wanted it wasn't great but they showed up I mean you can't deny that we had some stops in the second half I feel like there were some adjustments made so go back and rewatch The Game tell me what you think but I'm telling you the second half we had adjustments we had things change on the defensive side um it wasn't what we wanted so maybe that's where a lot of people are upset but I mean at least we stopped him a couple times um you know at least our our defense was able to get the ball back into the offense's hand I mean that's big deal you know they were able to get him out on the field get some reps going so to me um I feel like adjustments were made on the defensive side I'm not saying that we look good there's so much work that needs to be done um I mean if it was up to me the entire time they have because we have a bye I mean it would be tackling drills tackling drills and then it would be your gaps I mean why are we I mean we would in practice there would be no pass and plays um for a while that we were practicing to stop we would be doing stop the run stop the run stop the run until they ped I mean that's how it would be if it was me um it kind of goes back to to the coaching and uh and that's the other thing you know let's kind of get into the coaching a little bit um what what have we been doing I mean is it just like we're we're seeing what our offense can do against our defense and they both are soft and they both suck and so we think that our offense is great because they're doing really good against the defense and we were told that the defense was number one in the country and we're like well if our offense is playing better than our defense who's number one in the country we got a team like is that what's been going on because I don't see how the coaches could would not see this coming from a mile away I mean is somebody paying Mike to to throw these games I mean is he getting some side money to I don't know it just makes you question it and and then talking about the money I mean um it gets to a point where it's like I mean is he getting some of this money uh that's going DJ's way to play uh to keep him in because I can't I just can't see after that first half why you would keep DJ in I mean I get it uh pay to play kind of thing going in we got him here now but I mean I think that honestly everybody who's invested in Florida State at this point would rather see a win than than be upset about wasted money on on DJ now maybe that's just me but at this point take that money and it is what it is he's going to have to write the bench um once again I am a sole bench DJ supporter so you guys are going to have to just get over that because I think that no matter what all of this comes down to we have defensive problems we have coaching problems we have offensive problems but you you know something I heard a lot and I just was blown away by this too maybe I need to go back and rewatch the game was you know the o line was trash o Line's trash garbage bad I didn't see that at all I mean now given they weren't great um sometimes they were trash but to be honest I would say 50% of the time if not more there was a pocket and he was protected I mean DJ's back there in slow motion like he's in concrete and he's being protected long enough most of the time to make a crappy pass cuz that's what he did I mean um I I don't know and going back to to the DJ thing like I mean you you got a wide open guy in the end zone that score could have changed the tempo it could have changed the attitude it could have changed everything I don't want to get into the could ofes um but that was an important time right there during the game and he couldn't even make a wide open pass there wasn't really that much pressure on him I I just don't understand it but I will say once again hot takes from me take them how you want um if you want to you know tell me what you think in the comments I'm great with that but um I didn't think the o line looked garbage compared to everything else that we have going on um I think a lot you know a lot of our problems um a lot of our problems revolve around our our quarterback position now with that being said let me break down why I'm saying that because for one I think there's no culture we don't have a culture anymore because they they've just kind of planted this guy he's probably getting paid a lot of these young cats really aren't getting anything and so there's no like team there there's no culture there and so I mean look at DJ he looks like he's just zoned out the whole time he he doesn't have any emotion like a robot you know I don't feel like they're meshing together and I feel like you put the young guys in and at least they're all in the same play field and you know uh whether it's Luke or Brock you put them in they start meshing a little bit more together um but like I just feel like that's got to be a big change that happens um in this whole thing we we've got to start doing that and going into uh the the offense we're running in DJ we are a quick team I said that earlier so I mean there's no speed even on the handoffs like people are talking about well there's no running game well yeah when you're slow motion handing it to the running back I mean it's easy to tell what's going on um I mean rpos like everything he does is slow motion I I can't be the only person seeing this um now let's go into the receivers like yeah you know lot of our guys are having a harder time getting open you know but that's where like DJ has experience and some of these guys are younger on the receiveing side um but we're this offense is not going to work with DJ that's just point blank I I I would rather have a less talented faster Brock out there or Luke out there who's quickly getting the ball off they're playing with some speed they're keeping it going I would rather have that than the slow motion stuff we're having um so I'm going to try to you know I'm try to get off that so um let's talk about another thing so you look at our yardage and our our running yard specifically right um why are we making DJ throw the ball every play I it's almost like him and Mike norell are just like having these meetings in secret like okay DJ everybody says you're not good at throwing so we're just going to make you throw the ball every time like that that's what we're going to do and I know there's going to be people in the comments saying well it's because our running game sucks well I I agree it kind of comes back down to like setting that Tempo up um cuz we have talented Runners I mean we have a lot of talent that I mean TOA Philly is barely ever getting the ball I mean that dude's been on our team for a while so um I just I don't understand it but I I just every plays a pass like that's not going to work either um and especially with a guy like DJ who's like less than 50% you know I mean he's just not he's just spiking them down and overthrowing them and and and I know I know a lot of it his hands and and I agree that our receivers have got to step up but I mean you're just going to have errors when that's all you're doing every time we've got to establish a running game and then you know well how would you do that I I mean me personally I would be you know changing the Playbook a little bit for one and I wouldn't be doing just pass play pass play pass play I mean that's just me um I think a lot of this can be changed I think that we can go out and we can beat Memphis I think if we don't make any of these changes that I'm talking about it's a dead game I think Memphis runs us over and I'm not playing when I say 0o and 12 season I mean Maybe I'm Wrong y'all look at that schedule Georgia Tech and Boston College just whooped us I mean who are we going to win against SMU probably not I mean I'm just I'm just being honest I'm looking at it and I'm like who we might have one win out of this season and uh I I don't know so that's just my hot take on the whole thing um I know that some of you guys who just love DJ maybe you're getting some of that nil money from him are going to be in the comments talking about you can't hang it on one guy well I'm not I'm hanging it on Mike norell and I'm hanging it on DJ and of course I'm saying the defense has got to do some improving and of course we've got to establish the Run game I'm not saying it's all one thing cure all but I am saying sorry my camera died I am saying that if you leave DJ in and you don't adapt some different play calling season's over that's it um y'all let me know what you think in the comments go NOS
