Louisiana. Brian Kendrick, Fox 26 news. Well, our Sherman Desselle has spent the past few days in Louisiana covering Francine, and today he's showing us how people in Saint Mary Parish made it through the storm. Our meteorologist, John Dawson, said it best. Every storm has its own personality. And Francine proved that to the people here in Saint Mary Parish, bringing more wind and rain than they expected to see, we hear from some of the people over the week. How was it for you overnight? Overnight, I was underneath a sofa. I was terrified. Regular storm, regular lightning, regular thunder. I'm already nervous. So to hear that wind blowing and to hear that rain, I just lost my mind trying to fuel these generators. Now I am, because apparently we were out of power until Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday is what they're saying. That can get expensive, man. It can get a little expensive. I'm sure this won't be my first trip over here. I'll be here quite a few times. I have, like, 50 miles left, and I didn't get gas before, so I'm trying to find a gas station, so I found this one. I'm sure one of your parents is fussing at you right now. Yeah, my dad told me to get gas for the storm, but I didn't, so she didn't listen. Dad. I've always stayed here 14 years at City Hall during the storm. And I've never experienced the winds in what we saw. I don't have any casualties in the parish. We did do a couple rescues. We did have, I think, one trailer that left its foundation, we rescued that family during the middle of the storm and brought them here and kept them overnight. So my prayer was that everyone would be okay. Although their home is gone. I was glad that I was able to see every last one of my cousins with breath in their body. So thankfully, no major injuries or casualties reported in this area and help is on the way. We've spotted National Guardsmen helping with restoration efforts and water distribution and more people and organizations are expected sometime soon. Reporting
