here we go there we go right off the top uh San Francisco Giants beat the San Diego Padres six to3 uh San Diego had three runs and 11 hits giants look at that six runs on eight hits look at that not too bad we'll take a look at the buck score here Yas didn't do nothing at the top of the lineup Ramos had a hit Chapman had a hit conforto had a hit Cana didn't do nothing bayy had a hit and well you know what Cana Cana saved the game early with that pick did you see the pick on the throw from third base yeah that was nice I'll give I'll give that was that was decent but one thing about Bailey even though he only only had one hit and two walks every time he got on base the the guy scored that's that's key that is key if you look there's other ways to win the game other than the home run but unfortunately the Giants couldn't have won it without the home run to be honest with you U exactly I know where going there yeah Fitzgerald had a hit wisely had a hit and McCrae bottom of the lineup wow bottom of our lineup yes the botom exactly yeah the bottom of the lineup absolutely but uh those two hits of course left the yard so that was that was nice to see uh pit still a problem at the top of the lineup though you got yast dky leading off every day now Eric and there's not enough productivity for him he doesn't get the hits he's only batting to what what was he batting Eric to he's batting about 230 235 23 hold on let me look I think it was 236 236 y somewhere around there yeah yep 36 y not enough productivity you know what we'll get into yes but let's get into the lineup let me get this through the pitching line and then we'll talk about the lineup I have questions matter of fact I was tweeting about it uh today Webb went six Innings but look at that he gave up 10 hits three earn runs only three strikeouts two it wasn't it wasn't we web has been kind of Rocky these last few starts he is not web right he is not he didn't have the defense behind him the defense saved his ass all and the runs being scored by by McCrae that really helped him a lot uh Tyler came in Ting work looked good dval looked fantastic but doal does this he'll come out and look like oh he's got it together and then he comes out for the next outing and then all of a sudden it's but Walker came in he looked a little bit a little bit Rocky but he got through it you know they all had uh all the uh relievers came in didn't give up any runs and only gave up one hit so that's all you can ask for from the bullpen so they they did a they did a good job all right um what' you think of the lineup it came out today oh I didn't like it Eric same look Conor con's back in there I didn't like that for what reason where was in karion where was Luciano stop with the damn platooning it's over the season is over for the Giants you know what it's about that got me to thinking though that got me to thinking Eric that when we watch that game tonight and you see all those guys in there maybe Farhan maybe Farhan deep down is like Jesus if we don't win maybe that's what he's he's rest in his Laurel on if we don't win I don't j a bad stretch you're probably on something there Glenn you're actually probably on to something he's he's playing to win for his own freaking ass yes correct because think about it right now at this point of the season it's about individual Players let's see what anarion has let's see what Luciano has let's see what MOS has just throw those guys that's why I was like why is wisley at second base you need to be playing Luciano every single day I don't again the giant season is over as far as the postseason they're not making a postseason so let's see what we got I I'm not looking at the team overall I'm looking at specific players right now and see what they got because you want to know what you have for the future so I don't understand why again but you make sense there Glenn maybe it's Farhan putting this lineup together to try to get the win so it saves Lano wisely just whatever couldn't even keep his mid on need to see what Luciano has to be honest with you a long run this is just stupid you only got three weeks left of the Season man that's it that's it don't you want to see what you got and let unless they unless the Giants have made the decision that they're gonna move on from him Micha saying uh Luciano should not be up it's too soon well how many how many years you how many years you play these guys in the minor leagues area before you move he is Young I mean he is he is only 23 is but I don't want to see a guy play he's already been there a couple of years brought him up last year you put him back down you brought him up same thing this year though I mean figure out what the hell [ __ ] get off the pot oh Michael and come on it makes no sense it makes absolutely any of these young guys Eric uh some of them Matos got a pretty good run Schmidt had a pretty good look um who else wisely had a he had a kind of how let's see how many bats did or plate appearances did you have this year let's look same thing though you you've got Eric they called up MOS yes where the hell is he on the bench exactly uh he's had 23 do you not think we already know deep down and right in front of us you know we're get we know what we're getting from you yky Eric I know exactly we know what we're getting from ymy you know you're getting from conforto MOS thanks 30 days play them every day play them well there ain't unfortunately there ain't 20 Lefty play them righty play them doesn't matter uh wisley has had 228 plate appearances let me see something I know Grand Admiral this is what they do my man this is what they do Marco Luciano he has a total of only 104 plate appearances come on there's not enough of Luciana to know last year he only had 45 plate appearances this year he's only had 59 you got the Ste more that's it D9 and people in the chat are saying well we've seen enough of him he's got enough at bats 59 at bats is not and er I've said it before even about the veteran players you got you can't be staggering the at bats all the hell over the place well he got two at bats today pinch hits tomorrow we don't see him for a week that doesn't get you any any steady play out of these players you got to let them play every day Casey Schmidt had 277 PL appearances last year 89 this year a total of 300 and oh I'm sorry 366 played appearances so Casey has had the longest look out of all of them but you need to see what Luciano has you have to yeah I know I'm gonna be talking about him here in a bit uh senior we're gonna be talking about him no doubt about it he's got a nice swing uh let's see gr or dreg G but given the chances they need to show out no doubt show something here at the end if the year so far we've seen nothing if it was me I'd package a deal a deal Schmid mat Susan and a trade deal yeah why not who you getting there who you get who you getting you might have to throw in McCrae I'm fine with that yes well I'm fine it depends again it depends on who you're gonna get now can you make a judgment on a player on just one month of baseball you know you can't uh you guys keep on MOS and Los why you have they did the same thing to Ramos Michael they did the same thing to Ramos and he wind up being a pretty damn good player right he says are we not paying attention are they what are we not paying attention paying atten you say Luciano got right exactly that's what I'm saying they haven't had now Matos is oh actually has had quite a bit of plate appearances I think he actually might have more than uh let me see hold on he might have more than Schmidt let me see Luis Matos you know what Carter's right on when he says they always egotistically need to outsmart everyone that's Farhan yeah oh he's got a total of 402 plate appearances he had 253 last year 149 this year talking about Matos so he's had the longest look out of all the out of wisley Luciano Matos and Schmidt Matos has had the most time up in the big leagues one homegrown what do you mean one homegrown player way I'm not even on that Michael Michael Michael Ramos is homegrown right homegrown Eric you know what homegrown isown Gerald is homeown that sounds like we're playing in the schoolyard I have to have my friend on the team gotta have my friend on homegrown I don't believe in homegrown come on I mean we got you got Bailey who's homegrown sign this guy you got Harrison who's homegrown bird song who's homegrown you got a lot of homegrown players on the roster it's okay to go out there and get a damn good free agent especially at the age of Juan sto and the talent he possesses there's there's nothing wrong with going out there and getting uh Juan SoDo Eric you know what's in we're in trouble next year homeown pitching staff today Eric you bird song birds we lose Snell Eric boy we're getting I know we're already getting thin I know and that's a good question Jason it's only one game I agree that's why look that's why if he has a great September you use that in your for your benefit because next year it may not be the same because you want to sell when he's got a little bit more uh value right it's not about rookies it's not always about rookies this is Bailey's first full year this is Ramos's First full year this is Fitzgerald's First full year even though they're not in rookie Marty say kind of interesting it sounds like he's sounds like he's kind of done with Farhan too he said they should bring someone aboard to help Farhan with uh what is it not Player Development but uh player evaluation he was talking about I think the guy from the A's Billy Owen I think he said he was mentioning his name I think that's his name so he was saying but basically barhan is not up to that task of a valuating and putting together a roster that's basically what is saying and to have someone come in and help faran that's kind of what I was saying yesterday was it yesterday the day before where his I think his role is being diminished as far as uh as uh what do you call it having the the pool that he's had who Farhan yeah I think I think his role is gonna be diminished you don't thing is I think ownership is trying to save face to a certain extent right they're trying to save face because the problem is is they they're gonna look really bad if they had to fire Farhan this Farhan when they had just just gave him a two-year extension but yet faran hasn't done nothing in the last three years and it looks bad you see what I'm saying I would not be surprised exactly PR I would not be surprised and at all is if Farhan sticks around for a year but his role is drastically diminished and someone else comes in and starts calling a shot sure you could have the title of President of baseball operations but the guy who's actually running it is going to be somebody else that that's that's what I'm thinking you're right d oh boy you're right you're right give us a a few do so much and I think I said this in an episode a couple of days ago the coaches can't go up into the box and swing the bat they can't get on the mount and throw the ball they can't be out in the field and feeli the position they can't go out there and run the bases that is up to the player look the coach could sit to tell you and give you all the things that you need to know to be successful in in your approach but if the players don't execute then it's just not going to get done so a lot of that has to be based on the talent that is being constructed with the roster right if you're not I didn't deal with Don Don West he ended up uh parlaying his TV gig into he went to work in wrestling oh really as an announcer he was on late night television he was he was uh on late television for Ken golden billionaire now golden uh selling baseball cards overnight late night TV now the only one I see is a guy selling coins overnight back then it used to be baseball cards we only got seven boxes left seven boxes you got it I'm killing you got it this guy was a screamer oh he makes you look like a choir boy Eric really holy crap that's Don West you'll have to look him up after the show you will not be disappointed and you know what they they sold millions of dollars in late and and you know what they were selling you Eric was junk crap junk but all these you know Grandma's buying it for Little Billy Grandma's F I want that P I want the P pack some night some night when we got nothing going in the off season we'll we'll we'll screw around tell some of our stories no one knows what we're talking about that was great I told Eric about some of the things I used to do in early morning radio and how I almost got like I I literally almost got fired every day of the week Eric 10 a.m into the office like you can't do that and you know me I was pretty sarcastic what do you mean I can't do it I did it about 20 minutes ago you can't do that I go I already did you go don't do it ever again I go all right the next day I'd have something else up my sleeve I told you last night I used to drop the microphone story two stories down to the street and have sing for your song and the all request day people walking down the street in the microphone like just don't steal the microphone folks whatever you do what else we had the girl who said some pretty bad words when she won the contest the 50th Anniversary contest uh what else did I tell you about last night giveaways oh the the pack pack the pack pack yes yeah what the the woman had no teeth and and I got in trouble that day Eric you know why I got in trouble that day where did you get those backpacks they would they wouldn't give me any prizes so I went out and bought my own they're like what are you giving away on the air I said uh backpacks it's back to school week we didn't have any backpacks I said no I went down worked out a deal I mentioned the sponsor on the ER they gave me all these things for back to school giveaways you can't do that I go I already did I already did anyway the girl come on the from newer for she had no teeth I like a I'd like to win a pack pack and I told Eric maybe you Eric you know what if if we get a if we get a slow night and it'll have to be an awful day it's gonna happen soon I'm gonna get you in the offseason I have all those clips on a uh MP3 Drive oh we got to play them on here my old radio days back like we're talking 20 30 years ago nice and me doing play byplay and playoff hockey and the Morning Show stuff was the best because he didn't know what I do and then I did the bobblehead doll commercial for my news man yeah and the cool thing is he just had his uh like 80th birthday the news guy the other day right he sent me a message he goes you did that you surprised me that day ran the commercial but the the his name was George Mortimer we did the the George Mortimer bobblehead doll and we're basically that sounds like a radio guy right there George morer that sounds like a I'm George morer so anyway I did it and I was making fun of the guy but he almost cried he still cries he goes that was the nicest thing everyone anyone ever did for me in radio hey George I loved you you were just so easy to to make fun of on the air and speaking of you we get carried away at the end of the show every night but I told Eric off air and I had you rolling last night I said uh I was so I was so unpredictable on air it was like a Howard Stern movie they called George Mortimer into the office they said when you finish reading the news don't engage with Glenn I'm George Mortimer cjb news George don't go away I got a question for you this morning George like management has told me not to talk to you and he's he was this little like paranoid guy um they've told me not to talk with you and he's like oh I'm like George you're not going anywhere I got I got a question for you what's that Glen and I always get him in trouble just for talking to me oh we had so much you know what Eric when you have a job that you can have fun every day yeah it makes it that much better right makes it that hey that Abraham it's exact that's a line I use all the time reminds me of Trading Places which was on the uh TV today Randolph and Mortimer Duke that's why I often say Bernice will text me something I'll go indeed Mortimer indeed that was a good movie night was really good we started and and and again it's what the guys bring to the chat when they bring it and then so easy to play off of oh it is man it makes it so much easier when people are out there you know doesn't look like uh Abraham coming in tonight yeah I'm not sure I have no idea faran gets fired it's the end of the world as we know it but I feel fine good old R yeah there is Nevada instead of uh California I thought of that coming back the other day Eric I messaged you earlier this week Monteray when I was driving back from Monteray uhuh and I thought oh my God how picturesque it be had a little summer home up in the woods there and Bernice is like yeah you she says Glenny you wouldn't be able to afford the home insurance let alone the home and that's so true it's just a Tinder Box all over California Eric you can't afford to have a beautiful summer house or or a Home outside the city because like I was telling you we were looking at moving up near Cor CO gold and uh we couldn't do it because of fair fire because you can't get your house insured and fair fire you know it could be anywhere you could be up to $500 a month just for that insurance just for fire Insurance not regular insurance the fair exactly California fair fire many 12 structures have been lost no update on whether they were homes yeah that's Davis fire what was it said put on my news too often over here in Cal well know whip but in California we get our fair share last summer half I think half of Canada burned you know what were getting smoke they had to delay one Yankee game they didn't play because the smoke was so thick from Canada right yeah Canada that's right you guys had a lot of fires up there that came the smoke was coming down here yeah anyway yeah so I've heard that Bernice told me over 30 32 35% the homeowners insurance is going up as a result yes it's ridiculous man can't make any money nope nope Eric well you're you're up North I'm uh deep in the Bay Area right by mccovy Cove literally I am at mccovy Cove you're at there yeah and uh it's getting hard to afford to live California it really is brother you're saying a lot right there you said a mouthful man California is one of those few places in the entire planet you get off the plane and say yeah I'm G to restructure my life I'm gonna find a job you sure as hell better have a job before you get there G be living in a park yep true it takes a lot of money to live in the Bay Area thank God I do okay because uh it's crazy it is absolutely nuts what people have to pay for homes you know the belan you'll know exactly what I'm talking about but it should be a fantastic story him talking about when he opened up a uh a pack of 1986 baseball cards he went on a road trip to to find 15 players that were in that pack of baseball cards after chew the gum he chewed the gum and then a yeah and he chewed the gum exactly after the game we're debating we maybe we'll just do a post game later than the evening 8 o'clock maybe go an hour take a little break see how our football all teams doing and then that's what we'll do so we'll do we'll do a 4:30 uh that interview will go however long hour
