FAA reports two planes collided at Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson Airport a Delta Airbus a350s wing dip struck the tale of an Endeavor crj900 on Tuesday the Collision happened as the Delta jet was taxiing for departure the Delta Airbus was bound for Tokyo and the Endeavor jet was on route to Louisiana the FAA is investigating the incident which happened around 10:10 a.m. local time FAA confirmed the incident took place at the intersection of two taxiways both planes were damaged the Delta Jets wing dip and the Endeavor Jet's tail Delta said 221 passengers were on the Airbus and 56 passengers on the Endeavor jet fortunately no injuries were reported and all passengers were safely deplaned Delta quickly worked to rebook customers on Alternate flights departing later that day Delta issued an apology and assured passengers of their safety and well-being both planes were towed to maintenance hangers for inspection and repair passengers heard scraping metal sounds followed by loud bangs during the Collision passenger Jason Adams called the incident terrifying in a post on X Adams said there was no fire or smoke but the sounds were alarming the FAA NTSB and Delta are investigating the full cause of the Collision FAA continues to assess the situation to prevent future taxiway incidents Delta teams have begun moving both planes to maintenance facilities Delta stated that all affected customers were accommodated on other flights FAA says further information will be available as the investigation prog progresses Delta reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and apologized for the disruption both Airlines expressed relief that there were no injuries from the incident [Music]
