it's the night when the Irish film and television industry puts its hair up and takes to the red carpet Michael fastfender has been on many such carpets this year but says there's no place like home the best isn't it um oh it's just nice to come home uh nice to see uh friends and colleagues that I you know I haven't seen in a while you have to always do it so well you know they have a really good mix of of getting everybody home getting the talent showcased from here and abroad loads of my PS are nominated tonight Jamie joran and Eva berel and doo Kane so I'm really looking forward to seeing everybody here with films like the Stag and Calvary getting multiple nominations at this year's event many attending said it's been a great year for Irish film this incredible homegrown Talent yeah that's coming up through the ranks and it's it's really good to see and and I like tonight is great that we can all get together and you know catch up with each other and just celebrate the community another lady who's getting well used to the spotlight is filamina Lee whose life story is now known worldwide never did I ever believe that I could open such a door for hundreds and hundreds of women like I also in attendance tonight is President Michael D Higgins who's being honored for his contribution to the Irish film and television industry so lots of positivity about the Irish film industry here at The Afters this evening and you can see tonight's ceremony on rte1 after this bulletin Chan pry 14 News at the
