there are four starting biomes in satisfactory 1.0 the grass fields the rocky desert the Northern Forest and the Dune desert but which one's the best regardless if you're a new player or a veteran to the game this factual guide should help you out and again everything we're covering in today's video is facts my opinions be at the very end more satisfactory 1.0 tutorials make sure you are subscribed I've got a ton of my channel already and a lots more will be uploaded in the future and thank you to everyone that has subscribed to the channel here is a satisfactory map in all of its Glory there are many different biomes but four of which you start in and the one which I would like to talk about first is the grass fields this video will be split into four different categories iron copper Limestone and the other category which includes things like coal cerium quartz and of course Sam in regards to iron or here in the grass fields we can see we've got nine normal nodes which is this orange circle around here we've got 20 impure nodes which is one of the worst ratios in the entire map and we have zero pure iron nodes in the grass fields which again is the worst ratio in any biome in satisfactory the good news is all these iron nodes are actually available in clusters especially this one over here so even though yes you've got yourself eight in pure nodes here you can still get a decent amount of iron from this dim can be set up here yes it's six of the worst nodes possible in the game but because they're all so close together you can still get a decent amount from it the very very early game the grass field is not terrible however this is where my issue with the grass field starts to come into play here we have got eight impure nodes all of these nodes combined with a Mark 1 minor 100% efficiency gives you 240 iron ore per minute consumes 120 megawatt of power per minute and all of these nodes combined is the equivalent of just two pure iron nodes and how much power does that consume just 30 megaw so you consuming 90 megaw extra of power that you're wasting and unfortunately it doesn't just end there with the grass fields unfortunately that's not quite where it ends we've got one pure Limestone nerde up there thank goodness there a pure nerd in this biome but everything else is either impure or normal and yes luckily there's actually a good few amounts of nodes around here which is great especially down here for Limestone but in regards to Purity this is not great you have to place down more miners which means you're consuming more biomass which means you have to spend more time hunting for wood and leaves rather than actually playing the game itself regarding copper there's a decent amount there's not really anything crazy down here in total there's three normal nodes and two impure nodes but for the star of game this will do you completely fine in fact again just to reiterate for the star of game this is okay but it's when you start to get towards the late game that this doesn't become as good however I do highly recommend coming back to the grass fields later on to build your modular factories as it's pretty flat and Landscape wise it's pretty good regarding the other nodes you can find in this area it's As Dead As you could probably expect there's two c nodes down here both of which are pure which is fantastic you got one pure Criterium node one normal Sam node which is great and one impure sulf node which is almost useless early game if you're looking for a place to set up your call generators I recommend setting it up here and for any helping your call generators I've got this video on screen which should help you out with everything where I actually choose this area to demonstrate for the tutorial regarding the grass food that's about it this is everything you can get yes it has some of the worst nodes in the game but luckily because of the Clusters you can still get a decent amount from it but do be cautious though you will be consuming a lot more power here than pretty much anywhere else in the world the new players I would give this biome a 6.8 out of 10 it's not bad but there's just better spots moving on now we have got the rocky desert and one important thing to note about this place is the terrain isn't quite as good as the grass fields terrain wise again the grass fields is actually really good however one thing the Rocky biome does have is all of this water surrounding it which is absolutely amazing placing down big factories where you don't have to worry about a random Rock going straight through it's also great for things like coal or oil which require water in their builds so just for that alone fantastic but you might not need to worry about things like oil early game but let's talk about iron there is not a single impure node in sight most players choose us to start down here and most likely if you spawned in the Rocky desert this is exactly where you are where you've got a couple Limestone nodes down there a couple copper nodes up there and a really healthy amount of iron nodes down here this is where I recommend you start for the rocky desert do I recommend that you start your playthrough here well that's completely up to you furthermore take a look at this pure iron node cluster we've got four nodes which at 100% efficiency on a Mark 1 minor gives you 480 iron per minutes with just four nodes which is double what these eight nodes give you combined so that's 16 impure nodes combined just in this small relatively flat open area so again amazing we also got other clusters dotted around the map as well this spot might also look pretty good with three pure iron nodes however the terrain here is pretty bad so I don't recommend going for these early game so despite having a lot less iron nodes in the grass fields this is much better and it saves you a ton more power because you have to place down less miners the Limestone follows a very similar story look at all of these pure Limestone nodes up here this is fantastic the only issue is that yes they are rather spread out but still there's probably more Limestone here than there is in the entire grass field let alone the rest of the stuff down here best of all if you did start your factory over here you've got three normal Limestone nerds right next to you which will most certainly do for the first part of your let's play the only issue again is the terrain up here be cautious of this it doesn't look too bad here but when you're playing it you will F the terrain kind of kick you in the ass a little bit but as long as you do connect these together on some sort of cvea system you only have to go down here once and you've got yourself pretty much an infinite amount of limestone for early game I mean this part alone should satisfy you so all of this is basically just extra trimmings it's beautiful finally our first impure nerde and it's way over here so you're probably not even going to get this anywhere if you do start down here which again where all the all the iron was and the Limestone you've got two copper nodes right next to you and another normal copper node just a little bit further away so again in this starting location you've got a ton of iron a ton of limestone and a pretty healthy amount of copper as well so another really good spot here however despite again having more resources than the grass field it is definitely spread out quite a lot more but it's still better resource wise than the grass roads and now regarding the miscellaneous objects over here this is brand new these four Co nodes up here are indeed new so if you do want to set up some sort of cold power plants this is probably the best place to do it in the Rocky desert but you've got multiple options you've also got these four normal nodes over here and there's a good body of water so again you could have another called power plant or steel production over here and not just that you then have three cor nodes which are all pure may I add up here so what I like to do sometimes is combine these three pure core nodes and these four regular normal core nodes into a massive core generator which of course generates you an absolute bunch of coal but now of course with 1.0 I'm actually trying to save my co to use for diamonds furthermore this area's also got a really good amount of quartz especially for early game it has cerium it has UR ium which don't worry about early game sulfur which again early game is not really that important and it has Sam as well and even some more Criterium down here and of course it's a pure nerde because this biome is actually quite good so the positives with the rocky desert it has an amazing amount of nodes it has an absolute ton of pure ndes as well it has a fantastic amount of cor and miscellaneous objects lying around including Sam and it has a really good starter location down here despite this unfortunately the this northern part over here is quite Rocky and it might be a bit tricky to maneuver your way around especially with a couple cave networks under ground overall however I will give this place an 8.3 out of 10 it's a really good start for new players again especially if you choose down here and I do generally recommend this spot if you are new to the game in fact both of these spawns aren't that bad for new players but I would always choose the rocky desert over the grass fields third spawn area is up here and this is called the Northern Forest in regards of terrain yes this is rougher than the grassfields a lot rougher and I would say it's slightly on par in regards of the rocky deserts so let's have a quick look at nodes to see if this place is really worth starting in when it comes to iron nodes we can clearly see two clusters we've got these four iron nodes up here which a lot of people choose to start in this location if you've watched satisfactory for a while trust me you will know where this place is so you got four pure neres which is really really good then in this direction you have got not four but six pure iron nodes but do be cautious though this unfortunately is currently blocked you have to use a noelis Detonator in order to use this node so let's just say we've got five pure iron nodes which is still brilliant early game I mean even limestone's fantastic as well back in this area we can see we got two pure Limestone nerds which will definitely come useful we've also got a couple more normal nerds all scattered around but do be cautious this drop right here that you see where it fades from Green into this grayish color is a massive massive drop so do be cautious of that you can't just walk down it you will die so you do have to build your way down which will cost you some decent foundations and time again when you do get all these resources and lift it up with a conveyor lift then bring it back to your St base you can see that it will massively benefit you along with these other nodes up here as well unfortunately though the tone does change a bit when we talk about copper there is only one pure node down here which is great that it's still a pure node but early game when you only really have access to 60 per minute conveyor belts it's not fantastic furthermore up here it's slightly better you got two pure nodes but when you eventually do unlock the Mark 2 conveyor belt which you'll do fairly quickly to be fair you can then get 240 copper per minute which is the equivalent of these five copper combined in the grass fields which again you use so much extra power that you're essentially just wasting fortunately as well with the miscellaneous objects we've got a little bit of sulfur which you won't really need early game a decent amount of Criterium over here and here and you have got a couple impure nodes of quartz which yeah you can get a decent silica or quartz crystals production going but early game you're not really going to need that regarding the closest call to towards you it's either this area down here which is a fairly big trk depending on where you've spawned or it's these four corn nodes here or here that we talked about in the Rocky desert so there's not really much corn nearby unless you choose to spawn here then it's relatively close in all fairness but if you've chosen to start a location down here which had the six pure iron nodes then it would still be a fairly decent track to these cor nodes over here but if you do need a cold there it is overall if you are a new player starting satisfactory I would give this area a 6.1 out of 10 I don't think this is a bad spawn especially up here or down here but we are talking about new players where you might struggle with the terrain or not having a bunch of nodes next to you so these things might be a bit of a pin if you're a more experienced player I'd give this a solid 7.5 it's not bad but again this tutorial is mostly for newer players you might be choosing a sted location and the final biome to discuss is the Dune desert and yes very quickly if you do have a look at the size of the Dune desert we can clearly see it's massive in comparison to the other biomes we have over here and even if we don't really include this area over here there's still an absolutely ton of nodes in fact you can see them all these little Stone looking things that you can see on your screen are all nodes this place is absolutely littered with really interesting resources that you will be using and like I I said at the very start of today's video everything I'm saying is factual I'm not making up these nodes what you see is what you get look at all of these nodes here there is there's probably like triple the amount of iron here than there is in the grass fields and best of all this landscape is relatively flat you have got the dunes that do cut through the desert but if you build your foundations like 20 four times foundations up in the sky you can just get over pretty much this entire and over here so again with iron there's an absolute ton of pure iron nodes normal nodes and of course your decent amount of impure nodes as well and again I'm pretty sure this has got the most iron in any biome we've seen so far which You' hope so when it's the biggest regarding Limestone and again it is really really good I don't think it's as good as the rocky desert in all fairness but how much Limestone do you actually need early game you got a decent collection over here I mean this bit alone should probably do you fine let alone this part down here this part over here these five nodes and a couple of these nodes up here so in regards of limestone again if for for an early player this is absolutely perfect for you regarding copper this blows almost every single other biome out the park we've got three copper nodes over here we've got a bunch of normal copper nodes over here and we have got a few impure nodes and again a few more normal nodes one thing to be cautious about again on this map these rocks don't appear to be that high but trust me when you are maneuvering your way through here it's a lot higher than you think it is so do be cautious with that but still even if you were to just collect these three copper nodes this will do you for a St base easily especially when you unlock Mark 2 miners then Mark II belts it's great again fantastic source of copper when it comes to the miscellaneous category there is one item that sticks out for me the most and that is the call we've got two nodes there two nodes there two here three in this direction three more here two over here and another two this place is riddled with Co nodes if you were to use these three normal nodes here this pure and normal node and then these two impure nodes to form your cold power plants you not going to run out of coal for ages let alone combining all of these coal nodes as well into your potential steel factory you also do get access to quartz sulfur cerium and of course Sam but again this area up here is pretty rigid there's quite a lot of mountain areas and again the terrain is rather steep there was also some uranium but again early game stay away from this please in total look at all the nodes you can potentially get I very highly recommend choosing this point and I will give the Dune desert a 9.6 out of 10 in regards of starting here a lot of people choose to complain about the Dune desert for the lack of biomass just come to these Lakes to the Eastern side of the map over here there will be enough wood to power your starter Factory for about 50 to 60 hours so I don't know why they're complaining just come over here and get all your biomass and your wood even if we were to have a very quick aerial view over the map this is the grass fields a very good amount of node to be fair lot of impure a lot of normal these nodes up here are a bit more scattered around but a fantastic starting location could be down here if you choose a rocky desert in regards to the Northern Forest again scattered around but there's definitely a couple which I do recommend for your starting locations down there and in the Dune desert again look at the massive massive cluster of pure normal and a few uh and a few impure nodes as well but I would definitely recommend starting in the Dune desert in regards of the exact location I recommend choosing somewhere up along here because if you let's say place down your Hub about here you've got a bunch of iron next to you look at all this iron like look at it all you're never ever going to use this in your starter basee you've then got three copper nodes right next to you including another pure node right there you've got Coral basically on your doorstep Limestone that will last you for ages I do not I generally do not see a reason not to spawn here but in the end of the day start whatever you like I'm just giving my best advice I've played this game for 2,000 hours I've probably started 20 or 30 different games in stus Factory and let me tell you the Dune desert is the best for starting but again do whatever you want and whatever ever makes you happy but before we go a massive thank you to our members Mau skull and hatti low Nal heos Rising Cutthroat Zoo yumy Kel and Tio Rico
