[Music] hello and welcome back to another edition of black Enterprises inside the studio I'm your host Jin jobon today we're going inside the new psychological Thriller the front room which follows what happens when newly pregnant Linda goes through hell when her mother-in-law moves in and tries to get her claws on the child so join me and welcoming the one and only Brandy Norwood who plays Belinda and The Talented Katherine Hunter who plays mother in-law Salange hi ladies it's so interesting to seeing you two sit together after watching this film and it resonated with me in a different way cuz I'm a new mom and my mother-in-law stayed with me for 3 weeks I had the baby my God how was it for you nothing like St with nothing like Salange I know but I was really entertained by the film uh what would you say audiences are going to get from the front room oh my God I think they're going to love it I think they're gonna be afraid I think they're going to laugh I think they're going to relate to the characters and they're going to have a good time most definitely how would you say that the film plays on one's in Rive thoughts when dealing with a Tessy in-law you take that one U I think it strikes right home doesn't it um uh um just the in-law um the whole aspect of caregiving for for elderly parents I think that's very much um present um uh and everybody can relate to it um and um I think for me what sings having seen the movie yesterday in a in a in a theater um uh is Brandy's extraordinary performance where we're with her beat by beat by beat you know and um and being in a movie theater is uh we've just talking about Co actually is it's fantastic where you feel that collect heartbeat um and in a story like this so brilliantly led by brandley you know um that is wonderful to experience it I I think audiences will absolutely love it and to see it in in the movie theater rather than yeah yeah cuz just the audience reactions it was it was fun to like you said feel the heartbeat of everyone at the same time laughing gasping um Brandy you play Belinda I do what would you say is Belinda's weakness and how does Solange use that to her Advantage I think she's kindhearted I think she has a very very good heart I think she has empathy for the elderly I think she has empathy for family and I think she takes advantage of that and she can see that early on that I'm very inviting I'm very welcoming I want her to feel like she's family and I think she takes advantage of that mm most definitely now the film tackles themes of religion and spirituality in a more Sinister way um did that play a part at all in your initial reaction to the script when you were taking on the role both of you could answer that I read that and I was taken aback but I like the way it was written and how it was executed and how we were able to rehearse it and bring it to life in a in a powerful way yeah most definitely I think it's a very power uh powerful and resonant theme in that um uh how religion is is used to appropriate and manipulate uh um and it's it's kind of very much Alive and Kicking as a kind of um um means to an end today unfortunately uh in many different cultures you know um uh uh and and and quite frightening um um so so it works the beauty of the movie is that it works on a kind of Thriller level you know beat by beat I think you're very you got of go and now and and sort of uh diverted and surprised and subliminally there are things there's this fish symbol there's um uh so many things that kind of quite mysterious andle yeah and subtle yeah I didn't I didn't know about the inversion of that simple right uh last question if there's one word you would use to describe how audiences are going to feel leaving the theater I've just seen the front room what would it be both of you crazy they're going to feel crazy uh crazy and free crazy and free I like that thank you so much ladies this movie had me go home and clutch my little baby thank you
