what's going on everybody this is Al from Playbook gamer.com and in the last D video we had a big top 25 matchup against Florida and we got the crazy close win 17-6 it was a defensive battle as you could tell by the score and Def with the box score the first half was as bad as we could possibly play had turnovers had penalties throughout we had a really good third quarter and just of enough of a fourth quarter to beat them by a point just a wild and crazy game frustrating but it was a huge win for us and we're eighth in the country 3 and0 and today we're going to play our first conference game of the season against 0 and3 West Virginia we've had no problems with this team in this dynasty except for that first season where they beat us but they've really went downhill just in terms of talent and whatnot now you look at their stats they're not really good at anything except pass defense and their turnover differentials I guess that's average they're just having a really rough start and hopefully we can add to that damage with the in today now before we take on the Mountaineers let's go to recruiting we're going after four guys two five star instate kids guard Derek Kenley we're still trying to figure out what he is into but we're number two on his list we're slowly trying to get up there where NC State is at then you got halfback Cory Gilmore we're right there at the number two spot again but we can't get any information out of that kid then you got tight end Shawn Ward we number one his list he's narrowed down to his top five and we're starting to figure out at least what he's not into and last but not least traine Kilpatrick fourstar outside linebacker who's an absolute Beast he just fits perfectly what I like out of a linebacker especially the outside but number one on his list positive pitch we all know the story there I think we have a good chance of getting him to commit but when he get some of these other guys to like give us some kind of information anything and we also just need to move up the list cuz right now we're really struggling uh to get up the list for this guard but I think if we just keep hanging in there we'll be fine all right let's take on the Mountaineers looks like we got a day game let's go check out their uniform they got the all blue I think they got an alternate that's their alternate one okay never mind maybe they don't have an alternate home I guess that's what it is all right they run a 335 defense spread offense a lot of times they have a quarterback that can run around a little bit looks like they got two wide receivers out due to suspension that they got a defensive in out they're 114th in the country we'll just see where their impact players are at and such we have a night game in morgant town is that right I think that's that's correct fun little Stadium to play in not a pack house yes Morgantown West Virginia perfect weather no harsh wind no rain will be a whole lot of fun hopefully we can have a much cleaner game than we did against Florida oh yeah we got a this is one of our Rivals and we got a certain trophy that's up for grabs I forgot what it's called he just mentioned it they're going to highlight JD Hill done okay he's doing fine uh we've had a couple bad interceptions and whatnot but his Run game is helping us out to make up for any of those little shortcomings in the accuracy they're going to pick us to win let's go to the coin toss I want the ball to start a second half love their uniforms let's go check out their roster see what we're dealing with starting off looks like they got nothing but pocket passers now so I'm not too worried about them running around so we can Blitz them as much as we can if possible and they don't have an impact halfback so that's an ideal scenario but 80 and 72 and 70 just not a whole lot to get excited about they got a fullback that looks decent he's just a blocker so their impact receiver he's playing today that's a good thing for them but they got this guy out and they got this guy they number two and three guys are out today suspended three games each it could have been more they could have just been suspended Beyond these three games they could have been suspended all season for all I know either way just who whatever they done it was pretty heinous I guess they got 74 72 it's just a real drop off after that impact player so that tells me they're probably going to pass quite a bit today you look at tight end 82 overall just 7 speed but he can catch a little bit you look at their offensive line 74 62 62 74 and 65 wow that's terrible offense of line and that's about as bad as an offensive line as I've seen especially in this conference I mean I know there were several freshman I saw three yeah and a true sophomore super young up front surely our front four can go after them hard today and make some plays in the back field you look at their defense they run a 335 looks like their left end is out but looks like that is an upgrade with him being hurt right in at 80 overall not too bad you look at defensive tackle 70 so these two guys will just kind of go back and forth but they true freshman defensive tackle is going to start for them 6274 and 74 at linebacker just bad I don't know I don't know what else to say it's just not very good corn 78 and 76 this guy won't play a whole lot unless they go to nickel and I would say definitely can free safety impact guy will'll try to stay away from him today 82 overall just 78 speed and these two guys are going to play quite a bit uh since they run the 335 76 and a 70 overall so they got weaknesses everywhere I think we could just kind of run our offense do whatever we want maybe just stay away from this guy and I think we'll be okay offensively see look at their kicker awful senior and they got a really bad freshman punter they have a ton of freshman playing the day and I didn't see any that were like incredible they got that impact receiver on the right side I'm going to try to kick it away from him and we're off and running would love the dog stomp this team I think we can do it just need a clean clean game that was a good hit by 37 and Mike Bennett is out with an elbow injury hopefully it's not too serious he's our number four receiver don't say season ending Kirk let's go with a Zone Blitz I'm going to try to mix in some more man but otherwise we're going to try to Zone this team to death and just see if this quarterback can handle it just like that he can't just a bad throw out of the G oh he fumbled it oh we got the ball back thankfully great play Joan Lawrence you go back and look at this there was somebody open I couldn't really tell he was trying to go to the impact guy and just a great Phantom catch about Lawrence he just kind of got right in front of it and I got that setting set like a 50 on my Sliders in terms of like uh defensive awareness I'm pretty sure either way great play by Lawrence he's an impact guy so those guys can make the plays like that so what what can we do we can do lots of things I'm going to go Ace let's try I'm gonna go safety occupy we're on the 27 we're a little far off from those corners getting touchdowns for us he's not open we'll have to come over here get a few yards with Heath I may try let's do a screen so Bennett's out for two quarters so I may back off the four and five stuff until he gets back cover zero my tight end Sanders get a 14 six points there you go just like that we're up a touchdown a great C great throw right in the back of the end zone so the went cover zero just easy kind of go over the top and whatnot but just right in the back of timing was perfect on it great play right here I think he already has a thumbnail this season I'm going to go ahead and get him one anyways we can get something like that while I'm here we'll give it to somebody this week so let's kick an extra point I got to remind myself this team is really bad I think as long as I don't make bad decisions we're going to beat them pretty easily we're due for a game like this though we went up a pretty hefty non-conference schedule got through it unscathed but it wasn't easy especially those last two games Michigan State gave us all we can handle of course Florida did at least it's not going out of bounds force him inside possibly tackle him really good half for us we ended up having just a couple less mistakes than they did but 300 yards of offense and they're 179 uh we're actually running the ball better than they are but it's our passing attack 240 yards passing we got a couple sacks on them both teams are doing fine on third down we're doing a little bit better than they are they had the one extra turnover otherwise it' probably be like a one or two score game you go to individual stats 16 of 18 four touchdowns and wow I'm I'm way off he's got five total scores I was way off there he's got four passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown so that's how you can get up for Heisman votes when you get that many touchdowns in a game you got to do it consistently though but you look at our P our Run game we're actually run a little bit more the day than in the past but we got a running quarterback I just kind of feel the need to do it receiving Sharon the wal Hollow Massie Harley Heath Sanders Spencer everybody and their brothers got either two or three receptions you go a receiving yards Harley's leading that with 79 Spencer right behind him 62 you go to touchdowns Hall's got two Spencer's got one and Sanders has got one really cool you go to defense Sharon the we again a bunch of two and three tackles tackles for loss Halen Peterson with one a piece those were the two sacks and we don't have a yes we do have the one interception the first big play of the game by big number four John Lawrence let's get back on offense let's put another touchdown on them and force all these fans to go home so we've really struggled return it on this side of the B There we go uh oh uh oh go forward that's how you do it right there all it took was one block one block and we finally got in the end zone with the special teams play we had a punt return early that was called back and we got a kickoff return our first one in Forever think about that I just now I just now realized this that's our first kickoff return for a touchdown in a long long time but we had the right blocking just enough of a crease go up the field great block by 88 by Brent Smith or I forgot his first name it's last name is Smith though either way this linebacker has no chance on Ford Ford's got like 95 speed and it just all she wrote after that and thankfully no penalties to boot let me go ahead and get that thumbnail while think you kind of get why I would do that here again I got my second string in there so there's no point in us trying to really run up the score or anything so I I don't think I can go nickel we're going to try you look at my secondary yeah I got one corner that's pretty rough that'd be a little different if I would have took the red shirt off that that better freshman but I ain't too worried about that so they're going Direct on this one second and two I'll go Tampa two they've ran a lot of dive some direct play action a I was in terrible position there I don't know what I was doing first down to the fullback I thought I had a chance to get a pick and I was way off uh let's go we'll just stick with 43 I may do some 44 I actually think I got the middle linebackers to do it even with their backups we can try that I always forget that I have we haven't really went up against a run heavy team yet most of these teams kind of want to throw the ball that's just kind of the way it's worked out so far you don't know again I never Scout these teams when I scheduled them so I never see you know who's where the impact guys are at going with a shotgun here let's do something like this but otherwise we were just way too much for them and I think that ver may be the worst team in the conference this year so this is to be expected so that was a good play by Price first down do a little more proun when I say prun I just mean just call them basic runs but from the shotgun like you would at a pro style offense but do play action off that I've actually thought about running an offense similar to that I won't do that like in the next Dynasty I next Dynasty or the next full scheme change it'll be I'm going to be under Center some just do something different instead of being the shotgun the whole time but if you ever wanted to run a proun offense just run basic runs from shot just do everything from the shotgun but do basic runs with halfback and then do a lot of play action off of it and drop backs just treat like a like a pro style offense but all from the shotgun very doable that was the last play of the game good deal 56 to 14 hopefully this will help us out in recruiting I don't know who we got next I think it's Yukon they projected like second or third in our conference good road win no real issues they had they had a wide receiver who made some good plays here and there but he can't do it by himself otherwise he had a like a really average Quarterback their run game was halfway decent they probably could have given us a really good game if they just kept running the ball but I know we had some good stops in the Run game too we got a really good team like National Championship level possibilities there let's go to stance and scores so 438 of they're 250 again they're probably the worst team in our conference so that doesn't surprised me we had 183 yards rushing we actually ran the ball almost more than we threw it which is super rare in this offense but again we ran a lot of clock and we got a running quarterback 255 yards passing they 163 we got three sacks on them 66% on third Downs really good a lot of turnovers just another sloppy game between both teams you got to individual stats you got heel I only threw the ball what once in the third quarter 17 of 19 he had five touchdowns no interceptions and then you throw in that other touchdown on the ground he had six total touchdowns I think he's going to get MVP honors today of some sort I don't think I got a thumbnail for him either that's all right that's not a big deal either way you look at the rushing Massie let's see you go look at attemps price and Hill had the most attemps but look at yards Massie had that one humongous run he did get a touchdown as well heel got a touchdown Heath didn't run the ball all that well but if you I mean he had one less rushed to Massie but Massie just good for him he had a great game you got a receiving Harley l receptions be go to yards that was Harley and Spencer really close you look at the touchdowns two for Holloway good to see that Spencer Massie and Sanders got one you go to defense kind of the same what we saw the halftime two and three tackles a piece for everybody tackles for loss one a piece for Henderson Larson Hill and Peterson we got three sacks Henderson hail and Peterson and then two interceptions Newton and Lawrence all right let's get out of here we needed a game like that after what we just went through with the nonconference schedule let's go here see the week so we do have Yukon coming up they're one and one now they're one and two so much for them being the number two or three team in our conference but our conference is terrible it just it is what it is I'd love to get out of it uh but I enjoy being with Syracuse I'd like to see if we can at least win a title with them a national title but again just just a bad conference and something I just need to think about at the time when I was picking teams so let's go top 25 you got we be West Virginia you got USC Florida State Iowa over Michigan good match up there you got LSU Arkansas Arizona State over UCLA Purdue one they're right up there the top five Oklahoma State Oregon State over kale look at that match up that was a wild game Tennessee got beat by Florida boo you got Texas Tech getting upset and then you got Michigan State beating Indiana let's go to recruiting Right Guard we're I mean we're in second place that's great we just I think NC State's probably going to get that kid unless we can get lucky of some sort but like I'm trying we need some of these other guys to go ahead and commit so Cory Gilmore look at that Purdue they're just going right up there we're going to get a visit from him at least keep winning so we can sneak on through here otherwise a bunch of these teams just need to lose but again that's out of my control so I'm not going to worry about it hasis been watch Florida State LSU Forida State LSU Florida State LSU so looks like those two teams are having a really good season so far in real life not so much especially Florida State that's that's a bad situation they got going down there right now you go to players of the week quarterback for Virginia had seven touchdowns that's the only reason why JD Hill didn't get it because this guy got seven but defensive end for Louisiana Maro had a good game but you go to the Big East I guess JD Hill just did not do good enough with his six touchdowns this week CU pit quarterback had got MVP there and a free safety for South Florida was your defensive player of the week Conference standings here we are we're actually starting to play some conference games there is Yukon they have not played a conference game yet but they will against us here soon so we don't have any injuries heel Massie Spencer so looks like Spencer's got that top spot again Massie are leading rusher now it's just kind of the way it worked out again I don't try to force it on anybody but it's good we got a two-headed monster at running back you go to defense Lawrence is still leading at tackles and in interceptions as Peterson's been leading to a sacks there for like the last three years let's go look at Yukon they got some players H they got a guard they got a wide receiver looks like their top receiver is out wow that's a break for us and he was putting up some good numbers too and they got a middle linebacker that's out their quarterback is playing really good seven touchdowns not a single interception and they got a running back averaging over 120 yards a game but they're one and two so it just makes you wonder like they did not play well against Baylor maybe because that receiver going down they just got confused who knows either way going to be an interesting matchup it's a big matchup we need to win it because we got one guy ready to visit already that outside linebacker get him to commit put those points on those other guys and we can keep on going so we're going to take on Yukon we got more Talent than they do you look at their stats their offense is solid they got a good running game they got a good passing game but their defense isn't very good hopefully we can exploit some of that and their turnover differential isn't too bad either way let's go get the win all right guys I'll talk to you later
