Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints President Russell M. Nelson celebrating 100th birthday

Murphy and I'm Collette. Thanks for being with us this Monday evening. Today's a big day for the current profit of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. President Russell m Nelson is celebrating his one 100th birthday. So Nelson was born September 9th 1924. That was also the first year, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade ever happened. That was the all that was also the year that the first ever Winter Olympic Games. I took place like Olympic game at number one for the Winter Olympics took place that year. And France, obviously those where we were talking about the world a little bit there. But now let's look at President Nelson. We have 100 years to cover over at 4 o'clock. We talk about his early life. But now let's take a look at his time as an apostle and of course, as we know him right now as a prophet. >> Saturday of April Conference of 84. Has been circled on our calendar for many years. >> This was the moment trestle and Nelson's name became known across the world when he was ordained and sustained as a member of the Quorum of The 12 Apostles. In April 1984. >> Brothers and sisters Little did we know. On that day? My name would be presented as a member of the Quorum of the 12. >> While serving as a member of the 12 Nelson was assigned to oversee the church's affairs in Europe and Africa. There he was tasked with opening nations under communist rule to allow the preaching of the gospel during his time overseas, Nelson dedicated hungry Bulgaria and 6 countries on the Balkan peninsula for the preaching of the Gospel. >> I humbly grateful for your sustaining support. >> On January 14th, 2018 Nelson was ordained and set apart as the 17th president of the church. Since then, he has replaced home and visiting teaching with ministering adjusted the Sunday meeting schedule asked members to use the full name of the church and announced the construction of 168 temples. >> That is why we're doing all within our power.
